Crighton, Thomson, Roy and other guys who never featured were on the initial "moving on" statement so it appears Murray wanted to keep Carrick. Again it's a player moving down the spiral.

Crighton and Carrick departures now seem justified as they have moved down a level despite most fans a tad disappointed. Our aim next season has obviously got be promotion therefore we have to have a mixture of 6 or seven good league 1 players but supplemented by 4 or 5 Championship standard players or we will again probably fall short. 4 or 5 Kyle Turners wins League 1 and he might have been the only Airdrie player who would have got in the Morton side. It's all about the budget and recruitment!

Yes it's fair to say that vast majority would like to have kept him, probably including me. He's only 27 which shocked me as i thought he looked and played as if he was older.

Wouldn't disagree with that although i expect there could be interest from others in Currie and Kerr. On the other hand I really struggle with P. Mackay and O'Reilly getting new deals as i wouldn't expect any interest from others. Both are fit guy's who run about but have no ability.

Happy to see Agnew sign, great left peg and free kick specialist but i wouldn't have thought him and Paton would be a good idea in central midfield. Good players but both 34 and short of pace.

What we need is 5 (at least) new signings who walk straight in to our starting eleven. Not squad players.

Dunfermline couldn't tempt him so no chance we can.

Of course the first decision to make is on the Manager. The loan players, Paton, Turner, Sabatini, Connell & Jack Mackay will all be gone with probably only Connell returning, Only Currie, Kerr & Fordyce to stay for me. McCann to me is a decent league 1 player but his limitations were exposed in the 2 Morton games.

I thought Mochrie was outstanding when he came on and even more so when i realised he's only 18. Looks a real star.

Turner was rated at Dunfermline by fans and management. He has refused a new contract as it's believed he has offers on the table from Premiership clubs. Hearts and St Johnstone are rumoured to be potential suitors.

Needs to more as the match passed him by last week.

I would question that he is ahead of Edwards in his development as Edwards is younger than MacDonald.

Big Nat is what he is, an excellent footballer but his lack of pace gets exposed at times.

Got to admit i was disappointed with the starting eleven with 9 players from last season starting the game. New signings need to get in first eleven or they are pretty pointless. Yes i know it's early and things will change but they have to as the league is definitely stronger this year.
