I did quite enjoy the extended highlights from our game yesterday - filmed at Easter Road too. Only one pundit, not much pointless shitchat about the arsecheeks. It'd be a pleasant surprise if they did choose a game of the week this season that wasn't the OF to show extended highlights and analysis from the stadium without Faddy/Ricky Foster/Kenny Miller/ Charlie Mulgrew talking pish about nothing that a punter in the pub couldn't give their analysis of. Actually showing decent highlights and analysis of games that aren't always Celtic or Rangers will never catch on though, right?

I don't think there's much point listening to what he says in public at this stage. He tells the press one thing and does a completely different thing behind closed doors. I'm absolutely ok with this. Play the "we're skint" card all day long in public and I'm happy to just wait until there's photos of new signings holding a scarf up. That said, it makes his comments 3 weeks ago about the new striker more baffling. He'd have been better placed just saying he has targets in mind and is hopeful of doing some business, rather than spilling the beans about a deal that has seemingly fallen through. If that's Robinson's only blunder of this window then I can live with that. I'm expecting at least three more in before the window closes.

Carson has signed a 3 year deal. No chance he's going to Dundee to warm the bench.

Why he's now blaming the media or fans for "making the mystery striker up" is beyond me. He was the one who said it. Just stop talking about if man - regardless of whether it's happening or not.

A good talent, but pretty raw. He did very well at East Stirling in the Lowland League, with an impressive goal return. From what I've seen of him over the pre-season he looks to have packed on a bit of muscle too, so I can see him doing well in League 1. His stint at Alloa wasn't exactly spectacular but I think he did ok. Robinson clearly likes him and has big hopes for him.

Taylor is off to Ballymena and Offord to Edinburgh City.

The petulant man-child is a cracking signing for Dundee.

Carson wouldn't have played for us again - regardless of where he signed. We do not "hold all the cards". We have a player who wants out and other clubs know that. The alternative is we keep him and pay him to do nothing, if that's what you would prefer? He is going to the highest bidder, who happen to be Dundee - who may or may not be the only bidder. Let's be clear, Carson, if the story is to be believed, has been a childish arsehole in all of this and, to be perfectly honest, I don't care where he goes - just as long as he's shown the door.

My post suggests he's being sold to the highest bidder. Unless you would like us to free him?

There's 4 weeks of the transfer window remaining. Calm down.

The player is 35, wants out, and he will be on a fairly hefty wage. Dundee have offered 6 figures, which is obviously the highest offer we've had. Are you suggesting we should turn down 6 figures to keep a player who doesn't want to be here? Because that, to me, would be a shockingly bad decision and monumentally poor. We're losing a cracking keeper, I admit that, but for that sort of transfer fee for a player his age and for a guy who we signed for nothing a year ago is simply an offer we can't turn down given the circumstances. We're in no position to knock that offer back. If we don't now go and sign a proper number 1, then yes, that would be very stupid. I suspect we will bring in one more keeper now. EDIT - I just had a flashback, and I think I may actually be wrong about him arriving for nothing.

I would be absolutely amazed if Strain stays in Scotland after us. He will comfortably walk into most Championship teams down south.

I woder if Bolton might be chucked straight into the mix.

I'd be ok with Offord going on loan. I want to see more of Jamieson this seasion though. Not as an out and out striker, but I reckon he could well be the man to play the Kiltie role whilst he's out injured.

I'm not overly concerned about our striking options. Last season it was based around having battering rams up front and being physical. This year, whilst we still have that to an extent, we've added more pace and mobility. We had one plan and one plan only last year. From looking at the squad, I'm more confident that we have a Plan A and, at very least, a Plan B when things aren't quite going to plan.

Might as well bring Ronan, Hladky, Popescu and Dorman back too. We don’t always have to re-sign guys who were decent for us. I think McGrath is a decent player. But barring his spell with us he has ranged from distinctly average to dog shit. Even when he did play for us, if he wasn’t the penalty taker when we won the most penalties in living memory then I highly doubt we’d even still be talking about him.

Odd if the condition of the fee is the United must be promoted because Robinson was quotes as saying "We will receive a fee for Declan and have already targeted a replacement that we hope to sign today subject to a medical." He seems fairly certain we're getting a fee.

I see some Aberdeen fans are still taking their scudding well.

I have a fear Kiltie will be out for a considerable time, which would be a real blow as he's about the only midfielder we have with any creativity. On the other hand, young Fraser Taylor could be the one to step up.

If we replace Gallagher with Bedeau I’d be delighted with that. It also feels as if we have received more transfers fees under SR that we did in the prior 30 odd years.

Gallagher has been class for us, but his back injury did take almost all of his non-existent pace away. A shame as he was great for us. I reckon he’ll stroll the Championship. Best of luck to him. As for us, let’s just hope the manager has at least 2 CB in mind now.
