Geraint Thomas is Vuelta-bound. f**k me. I just saw the Vuelta starts with a team time trial. Jumbo could have this wrapped up on stage 1.

That would be ludicrous if we have reached a deal for Pressley and they then risk injury by playing him in a friendly before he joins us. If it is him that’s just disrespectful and the club would be within it’s rights to be pissed off. -
Fairly interesting tactics from Pog yesterday. Were his attacks in protest at Philipsen publicly scolding Eenkhoorn a few days ago when he tried to join the break? That was my initial thought when I saw him go off the front. Piss poor from Jumbo following Pog too. You have 7.29 on the guy and we're in Paris for the final sprint. He's not taking that time back. Calm down lads. From watching yesterday, it was evident Pog was in the bunch heading into the final corner. Word was that Vingegaard and Jumbo had sat up to roll in and crossed the line 2 mins down on the bunch sprint, but I see he still beat Pog by 7.29. Not sure how that worked out.

I don't get the hype behind Ibushi and never have TBH. He's just another Japanese guy who wrestles blow up dolls.

Robbo pretty much confirms that Carson will be away. So for me, a GK, LB and one more ST and I'd be happy with the squad. I would be surprised if all 3 of Olusanya, Jamieson and Offord are all here come the first league game. With another month to go of the window, there's plenty of time for comings and goings. I'm comfortble that the management will have targets - other than the mentioned forward - in mind and we just have to be patient. I'm delighted there's no rumours or hints at who else could be coming in. The business should kept totally under wraps until it's official. I think a massive section of the support just has to chill out a wee bit, be patient and see where we are come August 31. -
The Philipsen incident was bizarre. Why would Eenkhoorn not go and join his team mate up the road in a very small breakaway? Ok he didn't win, but the breakaway did, so it was very clearly the correct decision. Odd stuff.

Why anyone listens to a manager's answers when questioned by journalists abouyt tranfers is beyond me. He's not going to sit and say we've got loads of cash and plenty of bodys incoming. The window is open for another month. Calm fucking down. -
As some who only watches F1 as their sole motorsport fix, I had no idea Nyck de Vries was such a diddy until he got a seat.

I'd be willing to bet that anyone who describes themself as a "respectable journalist" most likely isn't a journalist at all. -
Sack Race 2023/24

You've had 8 managers in that last 10 years - not including caretakers. I don't think it's a stretch to say that Hibs, certainly in modern times, are pretty trigger happy when it comes to sacking managers. -

It all seems very straight-forward to me. The directors and Alan Wardrop will have their day in court. If he can substantiate his claims with proof then he'll be laughing. If he can't? Well, that's literally the point of why it's in the courts. -
Can you imagine what would be being said if this was Sky and Froome? This looks like it could end up being the biggest winning margin since 2002. There are actually folk claiming that Vingegaard took almost 2 minutes out of Pogacar in the TT because he "went round the corners a bit faster". Fucking hell.

Just learned who McAvoy was there. Didn't Hearts announce Naismith already as their boss? WTF is going on? -
I'm seeing a fair few Tweets today saying that Vingegaard was on a very good day and that Pog blew up. What a crock of shite. Pogacar blew everyone else away - including how many national TT champs? He did not blow up, but Vingegaard went up the final climb about a minute faster than Pog - whilst on a TT bike. If you can't see the obvious then you'll never suspect anything. f**k me. Those pesky Danes really love doping, don't they?
-
Looking back over the whole race, my guess would be that Pog had a little top-up of the supplements after his bad day in the first week. It seems Vingegaard saved his for the TT.
-
Vingegaard had a double helping of EPO for breakfast for sure. A bit odd that he didn’t back off even slightly in the final 2km to at least make it look like it might have been possible that he’s clean. The fact that he put nearly 3 minutes into van Aert over a 22k hilly course is, dare I say, impossible. I think I read somewhere that his Watts spiked by something like 20%. Red flags all over the place. FWIW I also think Pogacar is also very sus.

I don't think there's many folk here saying he's not an option as part of the squad. But he's clearly a downgrade on Carson as first choice. -

I don't understand the logic here. In that case, it wouldn't be a level playing field if a team signed a player in the January window only to play him in a Scottish Cup game. Said team would have a distinct unfair advantage then. Montrose, Spartans and Stenhousemuir had the exact same date as we did for the beginning of the cup competition. The defeat lies squarely on us. Not on the format or anything being unfair. -

Moult would be a fucking dreadful signing. The guy was a great player in his day, bit his last stint at Mothwerwell showed - he's pretty much finished. I will be absolutely fuming if it's him. -

Of course Montrose are famous for having had the same squad and manager, with no comings and goings, since 1879. It works both ways, Montrose are also in "pre-season" and shaping a squad and working on shape and tactics. It's no excuse for slipping up to a third tier outfit. It's rank rotten whichever way you look at it. I'm all for remaining positive and upbeat and the team will have my full backing come the first league game. But I can't get onboard with the happy clapping and hearing about how similar it is to last season when Montrose are in the same boat - if not an even more difficult position than us - and can still beat us. It's a horrific result and we can't blame the format. All clubs in the cup at this stage are in the same poisition. It's not good enough. -

The Henderson move is best for all concerned. Jay is at an age where he needs to be playing football. He's a talented young boy, but most likely wasn't going to be a regular for us. County are getting a good young player and we are getting a decent development fee and freeing up another wage. Similarly to Brophy, I hope he goes to County and does well. -

We may have to get points on the board early doors this season, as we have a fairly tough fixture list in late December/early January - including Hearts (A), Killie (H), Aberdeen (A), Celtic (H), Rangers (H), Hibs (A). -

Is he even fit now? His injury at County seemed to have ruled him out for a good while again. In know he made the trip to Belfast, but has he actually recovered yet? I do feel bad for Brophy. It's always a shame when a promising player with a bright future is blighted by injury. I hope he does well at County.
