  1. Why the f**k did the ref think that was a red to begin with? Nothing about it suggested a red. Yellow all day long.
  2. You seem to be getting yourself in knots over this. You mention he played 8 of the last 9. Why did he play? How many games did he start in the 29 matches before that. Joe was excellent for us, but he would have been a back up centre back next year and has taken the 2 year deal where he will almost be guaranteed to start most weeks. Make no mistake about it, he will be outpaced by virtually every striker in the league - and will give up a few goals as a result. If you lads sign another CB with a decent amount of pace that would see you get the best of Joe. He will 100% make mistakes, but in terms of straight up defending - tackling, using his strength and winning headers - he will do a good job. If it’s another CB with no pace, you’ll be bang in trouble.
  3. Shaughnessy is a very good signing for Dundee. That said, I’m not overly fussed to see him go. A good top flight defender, but hardly irreplaceable if we want to kick on next season. When all out defenders were fit, Joe was third choice, but was crucial for us in the run in to the split as the injuries piled up. To Dundee fans, you’re getting a good experienced pro - comfortably one of the best defenders among clubs in the bottom 6. He’s also apparently very good around the dressing room with the younger players. A very steady, reliable and experienced signing. Good bit of business.
  4. Shaughnessy did get his maths degree last year and I did wonder if when his cointract expired he may look to go part time and start putting his degree to use. Cracking player though and could certainly still do a job on the bottom half of the league or he'd stroll the Championship.
  5. I was on the fence when Tait signed, it appeared as though his best days were behind him. However, he has been excellent for us. Very unlucky with bad injuries this season plus that fact Strain has been so good. Good player and best of luck to him wherever he end up next.
  6. McGrath wouldn't get anywhere near our starting 11. Liam Smith would be a decent squad player. Not much else from those United releases that I'd even entertain TBH.
  7. If clubs are willing to pay what O'Hara, Baccus and Strain are actually worth then we're in no position to be turnig down any offers. I'm hoping we don't do our usual and just bend over backwards at whatever the first offer is. I'd imagine we'd be looking for roughly £750/1million for Strain and £500-750k each for Baccus and O'Hara. Of the 3 I have mentioned, I'd be most comfortable losing Baccus.
  8. I think we'd be better suited to signing a 35 goal a season striker, rather than 15 goals. 15 just isn't as high as 35.
  9. Would have had young Fraser Taylor in the starting 11, but happy with that line up for what is a glorified friendly.
  10. I also forgot to mention that I very much liked the look of young Taylor when he came on. He seemed confident enough to take the ball and try and make things happen. He gave the ball away once or twice, but that didn't seem to knock his confidence at all. I wouldn't mind him getting a start on Saturday.
  11. I will say that I'm not convinced Small has went in with the intention to hurt Miovski - but it was a shocking tackle and my initial reaction to it was that it was a red card. I initially thought Small had lunged in and stamped down on the inner poart of Miovski's foot, but the replay shows that it was even higher than that. It seemed to be on the ankle or perhaps just above the ankle, which is obviously far more dangerous and put the player at much higher risk of serious injury. Has there been any word on Miovski's status. I'd be amazed if that's not at the very least torn ankle ligaments. I like Small and see a lot of potential in him - but the boy is fucking stupid. He was booked twice in 15 seconds at home to Killie and now this. He needs a proper stern talking to from the manager. It's not good enough.
  12. What a season it's been. So enjoyable. Gutted to have missed out on Europe with games to spare, but that's our own fault. Shite results at home to Killie and then failing to put Hearts to the sword twice has really cost us. That said, what a team and what a manager. We've been unlucky that almost our entire attack has been sidelined with injury all at the same time in the final handful of games - but it was results like the 2-0 defeat to Killie last month that have done us. Loads to be positive about ahead of next season and I'm already looking forward to it. Let's finish it with a flourish on Saturday please and bring down the curtain on a great season.
  13. We were pish last night and got exactrly what we deserved. The Small tackle was an absolute shocker. I was amazed the ref didn;t produce a red straight away TBH. Hopefully Miovski isn't as badly hurt as it appeared. Aside from the shite result and shite performance, I am enjoying the salty, salty tears from the bottom six - or indeed lower league - jobbies.
  14. If Main is out we are in a bit of a mess. No Ayunga. No Greive. No Watt. No Brophy. No Main. That means one of Kiltie, Jamieson or Offord will get the nod, which wouldn't fill me with much hope.
  15. If the worst come to it, and Main does have to sit this one out, who do we go with up top? Has to be either Kiltie, Jamieson or Offord. Of those three, I have no idea who I'd go with TBH.
  16. Arfield will likely turn up at Hearts or Aberdeen. Would be a good addition for the likes of us, but I can't see it.

  18. Those AGM minutes reek of "You have no authority here, Jackie Weaver".
  19. That Ross County overturned penalty is a stonewall penalty. Regardless of whether Butcher gets a touch or not, his follow through has gone right through the County boy. Anywhere else on the park and it’s a free kick.
  20. Decided to listen to Super Scoreboard after this, which was predictably all about how Celtic were terrible because they had two key players missing. Lads, we were without Gallacher, Ayunga and Grieve. Give it a rest.
  21. I know someone who knows one of the senior players and seemingly they've worked all week long on going and having a proper go at Celtic. All out attack. This will either be a plucky 0-1 to the good guys or a 7-0 demolition job. No inbetween.
  22. I would be fuming if we were in for Moult. We have one permanently crocked striker on the books already. A prime, fit Moult would not even entertain joining us. He'd be playing at a far higher level, that's how good he is/was. A broken down, injured Moult would be like chucking money straight in the bin.
