  1. The missed chance by the Thorniewood player at 12:35 is the sort of thing that could go viral. Sometimes you need to remember you are playing at Hannah Park in Shotts rather than some perfectly manicured Champions League stadium and take the extra touch needed to be absolutely sure. Wonder what Shotts are up to with their ground behind the goal?
  2. The pendulum is likely to swing further away from the HL once more top WoS clubs like Pollok, Kilwinning and Hurlford are licensed, but on the flip side Banks o Dee could easily have replaced Fort William a year from now with the likes of Lochee United, Carnoustie Panmure, Tayport and Broughty Athletic likely to follow in the years ahead to provide more quality in depth.
  3. Our politicians prefer pumping upwards of £250 million a year into ferry subsidies to building fixed links so even a Rothesay or Dunoon team would be a lot more difficult to sustain than it should be at this level. Hope it all works out OK for Campbeltown and they can keep pyramid participation going OK after the novelty wears off. Guess the Trust Award is a first step to licensing.
  4. The gap in quality between SPFL2 and the top half of the LL, EoS and WoS premier is not that great so really anyone other than maybe Kelty is liable to get knocked out at this stage if they have an off day or meet a club as financially doped as Darvel are.
  5. No expense spared by the looks of things as West Calder travelled up the evening before:
  6. It's ma cup is bigger than your cup ma cup can batter your cup stuff and one set of blazers is usually pretty much as bad as the other on this sort of thing. The EoS who held the SCC draw at a league meeting the night before definitely appeared to go out of their way to be obstructive when some of their associate members decided to enter this year. The rational outcome is a merger to have a Scottish Junior Challenge Cup or whatever but it would have already been sorted out by now if it was going to happen easily. This guy hasn't been as active as usual of late but his twitter will probably be the place with all the results collated most quickly:
  7. One of the first things you learn when living in Aberdeen after finally figuring out what the locals are on about with phrases like furry boots is that Aberdonians tend to be terrified of venturing into Torry. If you are from the central belt it's not at all obvious why.
  8. Bo'ness United vs East Kilbride Thistle has the finalists of the 82-83 SJC meeting again. Strange the extent to which East Kilbride Thistle fell off the face of the earth in more recent times as they had a massive support at Ibrox that day.
  9. Was about to question that but it seems to be viewed as the only unique species as opposed to a subspecies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_crossbill
  10. Lost their ground due to the Troubles and eventually moved to a greyhound stadium in the middle of nowhere outside a town filled with Linfield fans leaving them with little or no support is how it has been explained to me. Bit like what happened to Clyde closer to home but they were propped up for longer by the Irish League not having relegation.
