  1. On this occasion I'd probably agree, they know this is a really big deal to the fans.
  2. A Sunderland fan mentioning that Peterborough are in for 2 strikers.
  3. Sunderland are under new ownership, no debt, new manager, over 30,000 fans. There's no fans turn any quicker than our own and it's taking them an eternity to turn for the good.
  4. I agree, I'd be disappointed if we punted him for £250k. Sunderland don't appear to be run poorly anymore, they could buy Shankland for 6 weeks of the wage they've just freed up punting one player out the door.
  5. I don't want him to got but I'll reiterate, if the cash is right McCall won't get a say.
  6. I did think that was the case, 2 days is better than 3 weeks. Not a peep on the Sunderland forum about Shankland today.
  7. McCall won't get a say if the cash is right for Shankland & Lachlan.
  8. ffs, I don't think I could take 2 or 3 weeks of this. FTR, If it is Sunderland that are after him and the cash is correct, I'd be advising him to jump at the chance, right club, right time, right football style and right manager.
  9. Not sure I would take a guess it was Jack Ross at Sunderland f**k off Jack, I know he'll bang them in rotten for you but come back in January and negotiate a Lewis Morgan deal. If it's Sunderland and the cash is right he'll be off, it's night and day between Ayr and Sunderland, 27,000 after not winning at home for a calendar year, he'd be a smash hit at the Stadium of Light.
  10. Deals need to be WIN WIN for both sides, what would Shankland be gaining other than kudos for filling Ayr' pockets.
  11. We're not arguing, we're just deflecting attention from the rest of your post for a wee while.
  12. I wouldn't want one, I'd still want them to do well, they won't be selling him for a pittance anyway so it's just hypothetical rhetoric from a fat(not as fat as I used to be) auld bawbag.
  13. I actually think being an utterly calamitous mess last season was exactly what Sunderland needed, a chance to clear out the crap and start afresh with a very talented young manager who they would never have looked at otherwise. You just need to see a Shankland strutting their stuff once or twice to keep you going, this season, potentially I'm going to see quite a lot of Shanklandesque performances from quite a few players at both clubs, happy days. I could be overdosing on adrenaline this season.
  14. It feels like someone threw me on the Pepsi Max and went their holidays for a fortnight, so close to wanting off many times, then a wee jolt of adrenaline kicks in and you're away again. I wouldn't change either team if I had a choice.
  15. As a Sunderland fan I'd be delighted if he ends up there, hopefully I'm not sitting watching him against The Posh in October.
  16. Nah, if McCall left tomorrow it would be onwards n upwards from me, if we sold Shankland tomorrow for a pittance my Season Ticket would be heading back to Somerset next day delivery.
  17. No, let the boy strut his stuff for the season and allow him to have a better negotiating position with possible suitors next summer. That's also a good selling point for any other prospective signings IMHO.
  18. Why would I take it badly, my team are pretty much set up for the season(stalwarts no longer walking straight back into the starting 11), your team are nowhere near and are dependent on a manager you've no faith in popping up with the 3 or 4 players required to make you competitive this season, I hope he does pull it off as there are quite a few clubs in this league that I'd rather see struggling.
  19. Perhaps your boards long term plan is to keep Archibald long enough to all but relegate you, then come grovelling for McCall to save their bacon.
  20. Not hopefully, he should be, the only thing that can stop Lawrence having more and better options next summer is injury, keeps going as he has done so far and I'd expect an English Championship side to take a punt on him for next season.
