  1. If you're staying up then we're at the other end of the league, you'll not beat Alloa once if that's all the fight you can muster.
  2. No, most would not remember him fondly if he jumped ship at the moment and he would receive almost all of the blame, as a fanbase, we've had enough shit thrown at us to last a few lifetimes.
  3. I don't believe it for a minute, he knows he's close to pulling off the impossible with Ayr, only a daftie would go too soon. He'll only leave us in the near future if something bad happens behind the scenes, like selling Shankland for buttons.
  4. I've only ever heard him saying Ayr will be his last managerial role, I believe him.
  5. It's taps aff in the centre circle if any Ayr fan ever shouts that at the big fermer.
  6. I'm nailing my colours to the mast, it takes a lot for me to post that Sludden wasn't close to Shankland, Sludds had nowhere near the all round game that Sir Lawrence possesses, as a team, they're probably going to replace that side as well. Last season we were just scoring loads of goals without the performances that really matched the scoreline most weeks, this season I've already watched some fantastic stuff against the 2 Championship sides. So many of last seasons players have improved in leaps n bounds for getting a champions medal.
  7. Some want to cash in for far less, a goodbye next summer with zero transfer fee will do me fine, this could be the best Ayr team in 40 years, why the f**k would anyone forgo that for a healthier bank balance.
  8. No madder than anyone who thinks we should sell him for anything remotely close to a £100k, if it's not enough to transform our current team it's not worth taking.
  9. I thought Moffat & Shankland (without his goals) were absolutely immense today. Hopefully Roxanne's Man was blootered because it's frightening if a sober person can come to that conclusion about Moffat today.
  10. Who'd have thought Shankland was only worth a £100k or so a week ago.
  11. Not a surprise in a match between those 2, I watched him doing all that and absolutely tanking through a 2nd set only for Baghdatis to follow suit late in the 3rd to hand the match to Paire. I watched him playing Gasquet in Paris last year, was getting absolutely rag-dolled and complaining about a sore toe, he was down a set and trailing 4-2 in the 2nd when I heard the physio saying "your only option is to quit", I stopped watching only to notice later that he'd won the 2nd set and was midway through the 3rd, he's an enigma, all the talent in the world with a huge self-destruct button hidden in his bag at all times.
  12. Pulled out of his quarter. I just don't ever see him returning to his previous level, I saw people on DLA walk better that Murray did in the last year or so before surgery, hope I'm wrong.
  13. I mentally play myself out of my bed every morning with that, unless I'm in a more arrogant mood, in which case it's "My Way".
  14. Let's worry about next season next season, to me this is the most exciting team in a generation, I don't even think there was as much optimism and buzz in the days of Walker, Teal, Hurst etc, for me it's stuff the money and go baws to the wall and see what we can achieve, maybe it's short sighted but when was the last time this club had so many people talking about it. I don't think it's going baws to the wall keeping Shankland, I think we could make £100k + more this season with Shanks in the team, the board will be gambling with our long term loyalty if they punt Shankland.
  15. You've not included the lost gate money/AU500 fund money in any of that, I for one, am fed up waiting for a decent Ayr team to turn up, I certainly won't be happy if we blow that out the water at the 1st sight of decency.
  16. Bought, anyone think we should ditch the kids are united for this when the boys run our? No.
  17. The average wage in the Championship is well over £5k a week.
  18. I'm not convinced, at least if Jack Ross signs him I'll be able to use the cash I save attending Somerset to go to the Stadium of Light.
  19. I agree, the boy knows another good season at the Stadium of Dreams could set his career up for a long while to come.
