Alnwick > Hladky > Carson for me. Their respective careers bare that out too. Carson’s ceiling is a club like ours, he has never and will never play at a higher level, and it’s no surprise he’s moved downwards from us. I believe Hladky’s now third choice at Ipswich having left us to go to League 2. Alnwick on the other hand played first team games for both Newcastle and Rangers and left us to go to the English Championship, where he’s second choice. Not that it’s that important, big question is where will Hemmings fit in. I suspect he’s the weakest of the four, and I hope and think we will sign another keeper before the end of the month. -
Yep it definitely has. That and having a winning team on the park helps too. I expect them to go on to win the league with regular crowds of 500+.

Crowd of over 700 in Keanie Park last night to watch them beat Championship rivals Drumchapel United. Definitely a bit of buzz around the town.

Burgh beat Drumchapel 2-1 last night. A big win against a championship rival early in the season. A crowd of over 700 in Keanie Park, not bad for a midweek game!

Neither will sign a new deal sadly, why would they? Just means other clubs with much bigger budgets can't offer them PCA's in January. In the unlikely event that they don't get a better offer from elsewhere they can always sign a new deal with us later on. See Gogic last year and Dunne this summer. Their agents will be rightly advising to do nothing in terms of new contract negotiations. -

We should let him leave for nothing. There isn’t going to be many clubs wanting to pay a fee for a 35 year old keeper who will be one of our best paid players and will therefore command a relatively big wage at his next club too. The worst case - but not unlikely - scenario is the status quo endures. Carson continues to earn big money without featuring at all. -

FFS. Should go by league placing last season imo instead of points in that daft group stage IMO. That loss against Montrose is probably going to make it much harder to get to Hampden after all. -

Certainly not a pretty league cup group stage, but we are through it, and that's all that matters. I assume we will be seeded too, which means we are two games from Hampden, and the first of them will be against a team who finished below us in the league last season. What a chance for an overdue cup run. We learned that we have no problem dealing with part time teams at home, part time teams away from home seems to be much more of an issue, so let's hope for a home draw against Cove Rangers or Airdrie... Also learned that Nahmani and Mandron are much more of a threat than our other forwards - if we didn't already know that - the former two will surely start at Easter Road. 4-0 up at half time, triple sub, and don't score again. Olusanya, Jamieson and McMenamin all missed sitters second half. It was the opposite last week, when we looked much more of a threat after the subs came on. Don't think we can make any judgments on the goalie or defence yet, they didn't have anything to do, which you'd expect. -

Same as last week please. Just get us in the next round and then we can never speak of this group stage again. -
If these investors believes they will make any money in Scottish football they need their head examined. There is no chance of that happening with any Scottish club, never mind Johnstone Burgh, regardless of how successful this project is. They can fill the clubs balance sheet up with ‘directors loans’ if they like, they’ll never get the money back and I’m sure they know this. It’s just a football manager inspired vanity project. The question is just how long till they pull their investment. Maybe it will be next year with the club having failed to get promotion from the West Of Scotland First division, or maybe ten years with the club established and sustainable within the SPFL league system. I don’t think either scenario is particularly unrealistic.

I’d love to put different, but i can’t. As someone who grew up and lives in the area you are referring to, I simply can’t put it any other way than: You’ve got it wrong.

This is wrong.

TBF there is three scenarios there. They win the league next year and regularly get 500+, it all flops and they return to the status quo, or they are playing competive League 1 football within 10 years - as such luminaries as Cove Rangers and Kelty Hearts have recently managed. Surely at least one of those will happen?

Looking calm infront of goal. Quite an underrated quality, I think. Nahmani had chances today, and he didn’t fidget. He didn’t panic and lash at it. Took his time, side footed it. No idea if he will score goals in the SPFL Premiership, but todays sub appearances bodes well. -

Yeah that’s what you’d expect in a home game against a part time team. Full control and an easy win. Played well. Nahmani did more in his first ten minutes as a St Mirren player than poor Olusyana has done in more than a year at the club. He just has that bit of composure that we had been lacking up to that point. We were 2 up but should have been well out of sight. Play like that in the next two games we are through with nine points.
