Given what I'd said in the lead-up to the game, it would appear that a Killie team that actually seemed coherent with a will to win (matched with a Rovers side that seemed hell-bent on eschewing all forms of recognisable tactics in the first half) turned up today. Lafferty is proving to be a brilliant signing with his goals, and very pleased to see Stephen McGinn scoring and playing well alongside Blair Alston. Given McGinn and Alston couldn't play well together under the dinosaur, it's refreshing to see them play well now. Fraser Murray had his best game in the stripes to date and given how lacklustre he's seemed at times, this is proof that there is indeed a player in there. Hemming was brilliant with his fingertip save being the highlight, can't remember who shot at goal but it was definitely for going in without his intervention. After the struggle last week, this was a very pleasing performance and I hope this carries into next week for our trip to Dunfermline.

If it's really bad we'll have taken the roads in

To put it simply, we cannot afford to lose a single game between now and the end of the season given the amount of points that we've dropped - and this will be a crucial game. As a Killie fan, the amount of supposed false dawns we've had has been very tiring and it would be very pleasing if we could actually start to put together a run in the league from now until the end of the season. At the minute it's out of our hands given the gap between us and Arbroath, all we can do is try to win and hope that the Lichties somehow drop points twice which doesn't seem like it's going to happen this weekend. It really does depend on which Killie team turns up this weekend, and it's been a few games since the team who had a right good go against Dundee United in the cup turned up. Against Inverness we were reasonable at best, which was probably more down to them not being brilliant. If Rovers are at their best this is going to be a very tough task for us - we'll have to wait until Saturday to see.

My word, this thread has gone downhill since Wednesday... As for the question posed by @CALDERON your best bet is probably the old Safeway car park which is just across from the big Tesco at West Shaw Street. Not far to walk to the ground and plenty of spaces.

Well, at 58 minutes I didn't see this result coming. After being utterly abject on Wednesday night it looked like that was going to continue before big Kyle stepped up to save the day for the stripes. Before conceding there was no obvious gameplan and it seemed to be fairly clueless despite Del shouting from the touchline. Glad to get the shree points aff Yogi's guid honest laddies and move on to the Pars' county neighbours next Saturday - but we're seriously going to have to improve if we're going to get Arbroath off the top spot.

We've been cashless for a few years now - indeed, I was at work on Saturday and a Belgian groundhopper was looking for a game to go to since his first choice was postponed due to the weather. He asked about going to Ayr but was put off by the fact you couldn't buy at the turnstiles at Somerset Park. It is a bit of an inconvenience, but when most people have access to the internet on their phone and it's a relatively simple process to buy online, I can see why clubs are going this way. They weigh up the pros and cons and decide that it's worth doing. There will be a turnstile open until the half time whistle goes - however, if you do turn up and the turnstiles are all closed go to the main reception at the Frank Beattie stand and someone will be able to take you into the Chadwick provided that you already have a ticket.

After a big disappointment in terms of result and performance on Friday - albeit the rest of the teams around us with the exception of Thistle having good results from our point of view - it's time to dust ourselves off from the north sea breeze of Gayfield and get right into our southern neighbours. I'm feeling reasonably confident that we'll continue our winning run in the derby, but Bullen will have Ayr right up for this. It'll also be good to have a proper away support at this game too because as much as I enjoyed the last game at RP due to how poor Ayr played, it definitely lacked that bit of edge that an away support brings. Hoping for a strong Killie win to send the fans in the Chadwick home glum however.

Probably the old Safeway car park, it's just off West Shaw Street. Easy to get to from Ayr Road and probably easy enough to get back to after the game.

Wee bit surprised to see Fraser Murray starting, and would have liked to see Glass starting too - but happy with this on the whole.

Taylor is an upgrade on what he have had previously. He's doing well for Championship level and despite being at fault for Dundee United's first goal in our cup game, he still played well against Premiership opposition. We'll have to see how he does for us over the course of the remainder of the season however. Decided against making the trek up in the end which is disappointing, but I'll hopefully get to Gayfield when the Licthies end up in the Premiership (hopefully through scudding one of the current bottom two in the playoff final). May the best team win tonight.

Very pleased with the squad now with the additions. This has been the best window for us in ages - it was also great that we got the most important signings sorted well before the deadline and we weren't scrambling about waiting to scrape the barrel. Bring on the Lichties on Friday night and then give us the derby - it feels very exciting being a Killie fan for the first time in 2 and a half years.

Very much looking forward to this game, will be heading through on Friday night after work. Looking forward crossing Gayfield off my list - question for the Lichties though, where's good for parking in the town that isn't too far away from Gayfield? Never been to Arbroath before and hoping I'll have time for a quick bite to eat before the game but if I don't have time I'll be happy enough with a pie at the game. We've improved a lot under the direction of Delicious Del but despite this it'll be a very stern test for us. ICT didn't threaten us too much in terms of their attacks and I expect Arbroath will be viewing this as a must-win just as much as we will. We also need to start scoring more goals than we have been recently - over time that may come with more of McInnes' training sessions but I don't think we can be happy with a one-goal lead

I'd say this is a pretty fair summation of it. While we had good spells where we had some chances to add to our goal, we were hardly battering the door down - we did pretty well to handle the late attacks from Inverness though. MacKay's cross was probably the best bit of skill in the whole game, and he'll be a big player for us for the rest of the season. The way the game went seemed to me like a mirror image of the first game between us at RP when ICT scored early and we couldn't do anything about it for the whole game. Rory McKenzie deserves a lot of credit too, that's two very good performances in a row now. I've not been his biggest fan at times, but I think the guidance of McInnes is paying off and he deserved his MOTM. Always happy for a player to prove me wrong, and this is one of those cases. The only player I've yet to see any improvement from is Oli Shaw who looks to have no bottle when it comes to taking chances (especially one-on-ones) but hopefully with a bit more time that will change. On to Arbroath now and crossing another ground off my list.

Very pleased with the result. Need to score more goals and Arbroath away on Friday will be a very stern test indeed for us but given the windy day and the amount of added time where previous Killie teams would easily have crumbled, won't complain at all. Even more pleased to beat a team containing Kirk Broadfoot and managed by Billy "the Doddser" Dodds. It feels like with McInnes at RP, something good is brewing away very nicely.

Doesn't look good outside today at all. Safe travels to everyone who's coming to the game, and here's hoping it dies down a bit so as the game doesn't get too affected/called off.

It's curious that despite the papers saying on Tuesday night that the Montgomery deal was on, nothing has happened yet. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Adam Montgomery supposedly set to join on loan from Celtic today until the end of the season. Absolutely fine with me, anything that can improve our midfield is very welcome since midfield has clearly been the weakest part of our team for a while. Have to say I'm enjoying the buzz around the club at the minute.

According to Killie's twitter there's been 44 league meetings between the two sides and there's never been a 0-0 draw in any of them so far. Surely an omen that there's going to be goals?

Back in the cinch after our mild "heroics" in the cup last weekend and we welcome our Invernesian friends back to the theatre of pies for a top-end slobberknocker. Given ICT have beaten us 1-0 twice already this season I'm sure they'll fancy making that 3 out of 3 so far - but under McInnes we seem a different creature from the one that the dinosaur was in charge of. I'd expect a very different lineup to the one we put out in December, and a more dynamic style of play. Given that our team is still relatively experimental I'm not sure who the goals will come from - but one thing I am looking forward to seeing is Kyle Lafferty vs Kirk Broadfoot. That particular duel has the potential to be worth the entry fee alone. Hopefully another good home crowd buoyed by the newfound enthusiasm, and a win for either side here could be massive in the title. An away win piles more pressure and misery on us, but a home win could be the start of an assault on Arbroath's lofty status as league leaders. Looking forward to it.

Dunfermline game rescheduled for Saturday 12th February. At least we won't have a weekend without a game when that comes around, and hopefully there'll be more improvements within the squad and no fog this time. ...apologies to Fog if you're reading this btw, no offence intended

I was thinking the same - given that St. Johnstone seem hell-bent on getting themselves relegated and there's the carrot of playing for McInnes here next season, surely he'd be interested in that.

I agree - based on yesterday's game I think we'll see more of what we showed yesterday as opposed to the turgid pish we saw under the dinosaur. Record reporting that we're interested in signing Adam Montgomery on loan from Celtic until the end of the season. Fine by me if that happens.

A cracking game of fitba - arguably the better team lost but we couldn't finish our dinner, and United's winner was well-taken. Good away support too, best we've had all season. Disappointed to lose the game - especially in that manner - but not gutted as we played well against a team from a division above us. I assume McInnes will realise that our finishing requires a bit of work and start to work on that in training throughout the week. Plenty to be excited about from a Killie perspective. Hope all the Arabs had a safe journey home, and hopefully see you more regularly next season.
