  1. According to Killie's twitter there's been 44 league meetings between the two sides and there's never been a 0-0 draw in any of them so far. Surely an omen that there's going to be goals?
  2. Back in the cinch after our mild "heroics" in the cup last weekend and we welcome our Invernesian friends back to the theatre of pies for a top-end slobberknocker. Given ICT have beaten us 1-0 twice already this season I'm sure they'll fancy making that 3 out of 3 so far - but under McInnes we seem a different creature from the one that the dinosaur was in charge of. I'd expect a very different lineup to the one we put out in December, and a more dynamic style of play. Given that our team is still relatively experimental I'm not sure who the goals will come from - but one thing I am looking forward to seeing is Kyle Lafferty vs Kirk Broadfoot. That particular duel has the potential to be worth the entry fee alone. Hopefully another good home crowd buoyed by the newfound enthusiasm, and a win for either side here could be massive in the title. An away win piles more pressure and misery on us, but a home win could be the start of an assault on Arbroath's lofty status as league leaders. Looking forward to it.
  3. Dunfermline game rescheduled for Saturday 12th February. At least we won't have a weekend without a game when that comes around, and hopefully there'll be more improvements within the squad and no fog this time. ...apologies to Fog if you're reading this btw, no offence intended
  4. I was thinking the same - given that St. Johnstone seem hell-bent on getting themselves relegated and there's the carrot of playing for McInnes here next season, surely he'd be interested in that.
  5. I agree - based on yesterday's game I think we'll see more of what we showed yesterday as opposed to the turgid pish we saw under the dinosaur. Record reporting that we're interested in signing Adam Montgomery on loan from Celtic until the end of the season. Fine by me if that happens.
  6. A cracking game of fitba - arguably the better team lost but we couldn't finish our dinner, and United's winner was well-taken. Good away support too, best we've had all season. Disappointed to lose the game - especially in that manner - but not gutted as we played well against a team from a division above us. I assume McInnes will realise that our finishing requires a bit of work and start to work on that in training throughout the week. Plenty to be excited about from a Killie perspective. Hope all the Arabs had a safe journey home, and hopefully see you more regularly next season.
  7. Given that he trained today with the squad I'd imagine he probably would start.
  8. Like some of the guys here have said you might well be fine with on-street parking. If you're after a car park, there's the big Tesco which is about 5/10 minutes' walk from the Chadwick Stand and opposite that there's the car park where the old Safeway used to be. If you do park at the big Tesco, make sure and nip into the Forum Café for some ice cream/sweets for the game.
  9. So, cup weekend draws closer and no thread for this yet, so here we go. Despite being in two different divisions, this fixture still seems to have a bit of familiarity to it. I suppose for Killie it's a bit of a free hit in a way - it allows McInnes to test our players (hopefully some new ones) against a decent Premiership side who perhaps haven't been at the races of late, but will now have the league's top scorer to haunt us. Oh good. It'll also be brilliant to have a full crowd at this as the 500 fans max. at Championship games has been rotten. While it's definitely an advantage that we're at home, I also wouldn't have minded being away since I miss Tannadice as an away trip.
  10. Given that we'd have won if that was the case, I'd have taken those inept/corrupt/just not quite sure about things lads! Disappointed not to hold out for the win in the end - but looking back at it there's no way the penalty should have been awarded. It's a poor decision by a poor referee and it comes off the back of a game in which we were also awarded another shocker of a penalty. As mentioned by other posters, our midfield is an omnishambles and it's clear that the dinosaur who is formerly of this parish has left us very disadvantaged by singing several of them on two year deals. Oli Shaw also has zero composure at one-on-one situations and needs to up his game big time. All things considered, a draw isn't the worst result for us but it's hardly the best since it leaves the league wide open. A lot is yet to happen, but we now have to treat every single game like a must-win if we're going to get out at the first time of asking. In any case, it's certainly going to be entertaining for the neutral.
  11. How I wish I was leaving my work to go straight to the game this evening. Still, I'm quite excited to see how we line up and how we play this evening.
  12. Given what I've heard about him from his time at Caley Thistle, he'll do for me. Hope he gets a game tomorrow night.
  13. Unrelated to our current transfer speculation etc, but Manuel Pascali was on co-comms for the Inter v Juve game in the Italian Supercup this evening. Very nice to hear him do it, and hopefully he gets to do it a bit more. I watch a fair bit of Italian football and it'd be good to hear him as a regular feature.
  14. Good statement from Thistle, good to see both clubs are trying to do something to get fans in even if it's a long shot.
  15. Gutted that there's only 500 fans at this - Firhill is one of the best away days in the calendar and would have been quite special under the floodlights on a Friday night. I know there's been whispers of the game getting moved to the Monday night so as (if things stay on course) we could have a full crowd but I doubt the BBC would be keen to move the game since it's televised. Ho hum. No doubting this will be a hard fixture, hopefully we can get a couple of new faces in to freshen up the squad at the start of the week in preparation for this.
  16. It was never a penalty. We could have scored a few more than we actually did but if I was a Doonhamer I'd be raging with that among other things too.
  17. Decent enough performance, decent enough result, very good set of results across the rest of the league from a Killie perspective. On to a tough test at Firhill next week now.
  18. Going by our first half performance it looks like we're still struggling to put the ball in the net despite having the lion's share of the chances. Hopefully McInnes can encourage the team to step up another gear after the break because a 1-goal lead is always precarious as we found out against Morton.
  19. I'm not a coffee drinker - I've tried on numerous occasions to get into it, and even worked as a barista before - but I got my folks one of these for their Christmas and they're absolutely daft for it. Dead easy to use and as long as you've got a way to get your milk frothy for a cappuccino it's grand - if you like an Americano it's grand too.
  20. Despite not being able to go down to the game tomorrow, I'm excited for this now. Who knows how our bold new leader will line us up? I hope he can get a reaction out of the players in any case.
  21. I mean, we probably knew this anyway, but here's confirmation of the assistants.
  22. I'm fine with this. While Jones' comments and antics leaving us for Rangers weren't particularly smart, he's still a good player and we've been missing that kind of pace since he left us. Gogic would also do fine at this level.
