Any word of Darren Young recruiting an entirely new midfield in time for the second half of the season? The midfield is by far the weakest link of this team and on Saturday there was absolutely no such midfield whatsoever. Lewis Hunter had an absolute nightmare and was at fault for 3 of their goals. Miffed.

I am in despair at the fact that plenty of Scotland fans are criticising the call-up of Shankland. The lad is on absolute fire right now and McBurnie has to be the most spineless striker I have ever had the misfortune of seeing in the Scotland jersey.

What concerns me about being at the top of the league at this (still) early point of the season, is how easy it is easy to get carried away and becoming overconfident too soon. This is a massive test of character for the squad and we must remain focused. As people have already said, on paper we should nick this but this will be just as tough as any other fixture we've had so far. Going for a nervy 2-1 win.

The problem with McBurnie is that he is mince. End of.

Must admit, I was nervy and feared the worst when it came to 3-2 but we thoroughly deserved the win in the end. Fantastic start to the weekend. Well done to Darren and the team.

Good player...a real eye for a goal, gets into dangerous positions well and always a threat in the final 3rd. Only issue with him was I thought he was a bit too lightweight. Gain some muscle and toughen up a bit and he could be even better.

I'm probably in the minority who thought that he was underappreciated at East Fife, and felt that we never used him as much as we should have done. When he gets the ball he's ALWAYS looking to drive forward, very direct, good on the ball and quick feet too.

Will have to settle watching this from the comfort of my own home. Wouldn't want to be within 10 yards of those bigoted, knuckle draggers.

That's a fair assessment and I would agree with most of that to be honest. But I cannot help but feel that the reason "we're a fairly small club", so to speak, is because we choose to be with lack of ambition and have kept on this tedious "this will do" attitude which will have dissuaded locals from attending future matches. Just my opinion but there you go. Admittedly, I haven't been to any of the pre-season games this summer but I'm not exactly won over with what I've heard so far. A lot of difficult teams to play against this season.
