  1. I can only assume it's an attempt at humour based on the photo at the top of my Twitter page. It's an old pic of my brother, my dad and myself at Rosebank Park, Lugar. The memory means a lot to me. My brother had taken on the job of Assistant Manager at Muirkirk Juniors, I was Secretary at Lugar Boswell Thistle. This was Muirkirk's first visit to Lugar that season and our dad, who did not attend many games turned up. We asked him why he was there and his reply will always remain with me. "I'm here to make sure you two don't come to blows." It might not mean a lot to you, but it did to us. It was also one of the few times we were all together at the same time other than at family gatherings. Sadly my dad is no longer with us. But we can still cherish the memories.
  2. Hugh Lamont, Alex Henderson, Salvador Esquierdo, Bert Esquierdo, Duncan Bryce & Samson Lamont. Alex Baird, Tam Park, Jimmy Thom, Archie Smith & John Bradford. This was the Lugar Committee and past players team they played a team from Logan Working Men's Club and it was late 70's
  3. It's was charity game. It's not Lugar Boswell Thistle It's a team made up of fans and committee of Lugar Boswell Thistle and this side played a team from Logan Working Men's Club.
  4. Now, now. That's immature. Didn't you know that?
  5. But what about midweek games just in case the Saturday becomes unavailable?
  6. The first those games would be ok would be on Monday 17th April with a 6:45 PM KO. Giving you 4 midweeks to play all outstanding postponements. If all Divisions were meant to finish at the same time and by 6th May, I'd really love it if you could tell me how it would be achieved.
  7. Ah, that's where I've been failing. I should have looked at my crystal ball and put in midweek games to cover games that have not yet been postponed.
  8. Clearly it couldn't have been. Mondays and Wednesdays were already being used in the run up to the end of the season. When would YOU put in the outstanding postponed games especially for those without lights?
  9. Nice to see you agreeing with me. For a change.
  10. What???? No football for 12 weeks? 12 weeks of the summer weather?
  11. I am not by any means trying to imply that producing a Fixture List for a full season is impossible or that I'm the only one capable of doing it. Far from it. I'm pretty sure that there's many, many people out there that could do it, and that there's many, many ways to configure one that would meet the requirements involved. What I have produced is in my opinion the best set possible under the restrictions I have to apply. No doubt that there will always be something that someone can pick up on. But I stand with what I believe is a fair and workable list.
  12. Hurlford v Glenafton - Hurlford with 3 home games in a row. Pollok v Clydebank - Will have Clydebank and Yoker both away, meaning both at home on the date of the reverse fixture. Gives Clydebank 3 away in a row. Irvine Meadow v Largs Thistle - Meadow with 3 home games in a row. Arthurlie v Beith. - Beith with 3 away games in a row. Perhaps it's not just as easy as you would make it out to be.
  13. The reasoning behind midweek planning is to avoid (where possible) using pairs of teams that would be close enough to be considered as Derby games that are better suited to a Saturday to maximise potential income, yet not too far apart to keep it within a reasonable distance. I think Meadow v Beith would be better attended on a Saturday.
  14. So, you want Clydebank to be given 2 Wednesdays at Home? I don't think the Bankies Treasurer will be too happy with that. Not sure that Yoker would be happy either as they're already at home.
  15. You'll need to help me out here, Benburb & Cumnock were in different leagues last season so it must have been a Cup game. Can you give me more details?
  16. Original fixture was scheduled for Saturday 8th April. Postponed because of Clydebank's involvement in the Semi-Final of the West of Scotland Cup. Re-scheduled and played on Wed 10th May - draw 2-2
  17. (9) West of Scotland Football League on Twitter: "https://t.co/OjBKEOgazs" / Twitter
  18. Ach well. Maybe it was too much to hope that everyone would grasp or understand the complexities involved in sorting out fixtures when there's 17 teams sharing grounds. But maybe they do understand, but won't admit that, as it takes away their rationale for having a pop at me. Carry on, knock yourself out. I suppose I have to accept it as part of the job of being a 'blazer'. Apparently that means I'm fair game when it comes to being on the receiving end, but I'm not to even think about retaliating in the same manner.
  19. Because the first 3 Lowland games do not clash with the SPFL as it doesn't start till August 5th.
