I'd agree with that. We have 16 signed players if you include Matthews but exclude the youngsters and that's not enough when you factor in injuries and suspensions. Two or three to come.

There was an article in the Scotsman last week mainly about Cowdenbeath. Towards the end Hilson got a mention - link.

So far I think they've lost Clark, Holt, Carmichael, McShane, McKenna, Paton, Durnan and Reilly. Maybe one or two have still to be confirmed but that's a hell of a lot of good players to lose from the first team squad. Because of that I'll be a wee bit disappointed if we can't finish above them.

Elliot didn't kick a ball in 2012 after a bad injury at Dundee in December 2011. His next game was not until February 2013 when he played for Alloa. That being the case it may have been that Rovers offered him a chance to get back into full time football but the deal might have been that they would not be responsible if he broke down again. I'm not saying it excuses Rovers but those might have been the terms under which he signed.

Today's FFP. McKinnon revealed that he will be running the rule over trialists during the pre-season programme. “There’s a couple of lads coming in that we’re eager to have a wee look at,” he said. McKinnon is continuing in his attempts to add to the squad and is due to meet a player tomorrow (Friday). “He’s a good player and one we’ve worked hard on so hopefully we can get him,” McKinnon said. “We’re still looking to strengthen in midfield and up front. Wasps1 will be along any minute now.
