  1. Tonight I ran for 4.27km which took me just short of 27 mins. I'm not too bothered about the time, which isn't great at all, more the distance. Once I can comfortably run 10km then I'll worry about getting the time better. I did take the advice on this thread and started the couch to 10k, but I just couldn't motivate myself. As my above post hints at, I'm pretty lazy. However, I've started running with somebody around my weight. I find it so much better to run with someone than by myself. I know that if I'd went out tonight on my own I'd have quit after about 15 mins. Having someone there just pushing you that bit more, I feel anyway. This is just a mental thing that I'll need to improve on. Anyway, next Monday I'll break the 5km barrier and then I'm hoping by the end of July to be able to reach 7.5km. There's my update...
  2. Apparently Thistle have signed Paul Gallacher. Did RC offer him a new deal?
  3. What the f**k? He's been positive, saying all the right things for the last few weeks and then comes out with that? Bit out of the blue.
  4. He's entertaining, though. Got to give him that.
  5. That's exactly how I find them. Favourite being Doherty. Always get the itch to start playing snooker again when I watch the Worlds.
  6. Seeking advice here. I'm 22, about 5'10 & just shy of 14 stone. My diet is just plain awful. I also never exercise, and when I say never I pretty much mean never. Last time I did something was probably 2nd week of January and it was a game of squash. Anyway, went out a run this morning. A pitiful 7 and a bit minute run - which was straight for the most part. I'm wanting to lose two stone in total so changing my diet around and will be exercising more. Just looking for advice on the best way to start exercising. What are your tips, should I be doing interval running? Just go out and time a run like I did today? Can't join a gym right now but have an exercise bike and rowing machine in the house. How do you START getting serious about running? I guess that's what I'm trying to say.
  7. So were/are they holding money back from players? Where's this extra 30% suddenly appeared from?
  8. Well done to him but it doesn't change the fact that he was a very boring man. That was my point.
  9. I can also remember Yorkston (think it was him) had a couple of jokes that went down well in the room. Think the first was about Cowdenbeath getting relegated, then he thought he was on a roll and made a joke about McCoist. Got about half the reaction as the first one, but I think he'll be happy with that.
  10. You missed out the guy talking about an auction? I had it on as background noise but it went a little like: "Just any little things...someone offered his services as a gardener for a day...I thought that was nice. Someone gave £80!" and "one time we went to auction and I had nothing and someone bought nothing off me for £20! I thought that was nice." If that was anyone here, sorry, but my ears were bleeding when he was talking. Which was for about 10 minutes listing a load of these relatively trivial things.
  11. I chucked it on for 5 minute there, hearing some old guy stuttering over a question gets heckled "sit doon!". His response "...thanks for that...that's...nice." Big talking point just now is the Scottish Power fiasco. Dunfermline don't sound as if they have a case here I'm afraid. They don't want to pay it because 'they're not happy' that the penalties got put on. Tough shit.
  12. How much should I expect to pay for a full car valet? Just about to go to a place or two and don't want ripped off. I'm in the Ayrshire area.
  13. Is there anywhere to buy Morton's rolls in Ayrshire? Or do you need to get them from Glasgow?
  14. I've always known that these are quite addictive. But £4.2bn a year, in this country, is staggering. I never use them now, unless I'm in with a mate and have a few coins in my pocket (nothing more than £3) to put in. Everytime I walk past the bookies it's the same old faces in there, day after day. Scary stuff.
  15. For all the film fans out there. Craig Fargo.
  16. I know these swaps don't happen very often, but I'll give it a go. I'm wanting to get rid of Dishonored for either NHL 13 or Madden 13?
  17. The Impossible. 7.5/10. Found the tsunami scene to be one of the hardest I've ever watched. McGregor was very good, Watts was different class but wasn't a fan of the boy who played Lucas, who I've since read has been receiving a lot of praise. Anyway, decent.
  18. Went to St. Mirren v Motherwell on Friday night. RANDOM.
  19. "We were scheduled to have a training session yesterday but we decided to change the schedule until matters at the Club were cleared up and the players were free to concentrate on training for the Falkirk game. I would like to assure the fans that the players were back in training today and they wouldn't want the fans thinking they would take that kind of action." So, essentially, a Jim Jefferies-led strike because they never got their wages.
  20. I'd imagine if your club has given a statement that all wages have been paid, then they'll have been paid. They won't be wanting egg on their faces over this - from the outside looking in, your board seem to want to put a lid on how bad things are, so for them to say wages have been paid when they haven't wouldn't make any sense. Good on the players for striking though.
  21. Sin Cara out with a knee injury. What a terrible way for Tensai to lose. Falls on his back...pinned. He needs to go - what a waste.
  22. Pish episode this week. I quite liked the sketches where he wasn't sure what to say in the swimming pool/to his Dad, and the camera one, but that was really it.
  23. Best Falconhoof yet? It's a contender. Hearing the dad laughing in the background had me in stitches.
  24. Just to add, a guy I know's in a band and he's recently found out he's got tinnitus. Regularly puts statuses up on Facebook about how painful it is and how he wishes he was more aware of the risks earlier on. Says he wouldn't wish it on anyone. I know you can get different degrees of pain through this - so I can't help feeling sorry for him as it seems like he's got it bad. If you're a regular gig goer, I'd definitely recommend it.
