    Read last week that this is the last time that showjumping will be one of the 5 disciplines in the modern pentathlon. Think the main reason it is being dropped is that the random draw to allocate horses made it a lottery. It will be replaced by some sort of assault course. Hopefully in a Total Wipeout style.

    Women's golf leaderboard after round 3. Lot of Solheim Cup stars struggling, with the likes of Hall (+3), Hull (+5), Ciganda (+10) and McGuire (+24) all way off contending.

    Bulgarian lifter has just lifted 224kg in the clean and jerk to set a new world record and become the first man to break the 400kg mark for the combined lifts.

    They group them for all the events based on their season's best time/distance/height etc. It just emphasizes the difference between KJT and Thiam when it comes to the javelin. It also meant Thiam had an extra bit of recovery time between events.

    She is 818 points ahead at the moment, if Thiam throws 52.04 or better that she is well capable of she would score 900+ points.

    No idea tbh. Decent first throw by KJT , I'm off to bed now. Hopefully it starts pishing down before Thiam throws.

    Yep, there is 13 meters between their PBs in the javelin, but only 7.5ish m on their season's best. Thiam set her PB in 2017, so it would be a huge shock if she gets near that.

    Decent outcome in the end for KJT as she only loses 1cm to Thiam so maintains a 45 point lead.

    6.04 m with her second jump, another stuttering run up but only 1 cm behind Thiam at the moment.

    We've been here before, but KJT makes an arse of her first long jump.

    Brw, if you enjoyed that, give the Madison a look. Women go today just about 5 with the men at a similar time tomorrow. 120 laps with a sprint every 10, but 12 countries in teams of 2 effectively cycling a relay, to switch riders you have to grab your team mate by the hand and slingshot them into the race. Usually chaos.

    KJT leading by 48 points over Thiam after day 1. Her PB long jump is further than the Belgian's but Thiam has the better jump this season. Thiam will have a better javelin, so it's all down to whether KJT can limit her losses to something that gives her a chance to make up the deficit in the 800m. She did throw a PB in the shot put, could do with another in the javelin.
