  1. Buttler edges one to Carey, wafting outside off stump at one he has to be leaving. 7 down and still 10 behind.
  2. Stokes edges one from Cummins and is caught, he was all over the place tbh.
  3. Willow Cricket and showing highlights from day 1.
  4. I've been through lots of channels on the firestick where the cricket should be on and nobody has it at the moment. Lots of shite getting talked in various studios.
  5. England gonna England. 3 wickets down in just over half an hour and Australia right on top again. 234-5, still 44 behind. Lyon gets his 400th and 401st Test wickets. Buttler and Stokes at the crease now and the new ball only a couple of overs away.
  6. They had a lengthy chat about it during commentary. Shane Warne was making the point that this could be Hobart's last chance if the crowds don't turn out. The last test it hosted had a total attendance of 29k, with 12k the highest for one of the days.
  7. Root and Malan doing well, Malan has had about 15 played and misses though but got away with it.
  8. Claypool decides to pose for a picture with the clock running and no timeouts left. [emoji1787]
  9. 2 wickets down in the first 45 minutes after lunch. Burns first to go in the first over, a ball from Cummins that reared up and caught him high on the bat. Hameed was just starting to look very settled when he glanced one down leg side to Carey. Root now trying to avoid a pair.
  10. Burns given out lbw on the last ball of the over but survives on review.
  11. England start out with a deficit of 278. Burns at least avoids a king pair.
  12. 400 up for Australia with 2 wickets still in hand. Is there a worst team in world cricket at finishing off the tail than England?
  13. Obviously Covid didn't help this time as the only warm ups were among themselves, and the lack of red ball cricket affects other countries in the same way as their players also roll in the money on the numerous T20 leagues. Maybe it's time to face the facts that lots of these current England players just aren't very good.
  14. The Ashes: England's Jack Leach given 'a hospital pass', says Phil Tufnell - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59579980 As much as I don't rate Leach, Tuffers speaks a lot of sense here. Given how little he has played, he should never have been in the team for this one.
  15. It's the only time I can ever remember that coming off in an NFL game.
  16. Imo Leach is still living off his partnership with Stokes, he doesn't offer a real wicket taking threat or control the run rate.
  17. England didn't bowl too badly for the most part, a few edges went flying into gaps and to safety. There were also a couple of run out chances that went begging, Hameed has to hit the stumps from no more than 10 feet away when Warner was crawling about the deck. Last session was a free for all for Head as the bowlers tired. That was the third fastest hundred in Ashes history. I posted further up that I didn't rate Leach, every Aussie batsman treated him with utter disdain. 1 wicket from 95 runs from 11 overs. The Aussie commentators were making the point that it looks like the Australian tactic is to inflcit so much damage on Leach that it could end his series.
  18. First over after lunch and Burns drops a straightforward chance from Warner.
  19. And forgot to add that Stokes was limping pretty badly right before lunch.
  20. 113-1 at lunch. Wood really unlucky not to have a couple of wickets, Leach being dispatched all over Brisbane.
  21. Quite a few close calls for England but it's 41-1 at the drinks break.
