  1. Good line from Cink to his son who is caddying for him as they were heading up the last with a 4 shot lead, "I was expecting a dog fight but no dogs turned up." Half decent fantasy haul for me with Fitzpatrick T4th, Morikawa T7th and DJ T13th.
  2. Cink still 4 up at the turn, nobody really putting any pressure on him yet. A sore +7 final round for Robert MacIntyre brings an end to a really good 7 weeks in the States.
  3. Guy I played with yesterday sliced his first few drives, and has a bit of a moan that he never slices it. We discovered he wasn't lying on the 5th tee when the head of his driver flew off, chances are it was loose before that and the impact was forcing the face open.
  4. Game over now as Kieffer finds the water three times on 18. Daft that you can't concede in the playoff.
  5. Back to the 18th tee again for a 5th attempt to find a winner. Catlin just made a superb up and down from the bunker to keep it going.
  6. Gets up and down for par to force the playoff.
  7. Kieffer finds the bunker though.
  8. Good finish in Austria, John Catlin has just missed a birdie putt on the last that would have given him a 1 shot lead, Max Kieffer now has the chance to win it with a 2.
  9. That's my understanding too, we've had guys DQ'd from comps for not submitting their card as they have got into the habit of not putting it in for general play. Don't know about other apps, but Scottish Golf asks you for the name and contact number of your marker.
  10. Biggest confusion at the moment seems to be guys struggling to get their head around the difference between your handicap index, course handicap, and playing handicap. I don't have a problem with the new system, ultimately if you shoot better scores it goes down, but at probably a slower rate rather get walloped by a stroke or two at a time if you shoot a really low score.
  11. Played yesterday, started badly, had a decent run of holes in the middle, then fucked it towards the end and eventually NR'd. Some folk just can't get their head around the new system. Guy I was playing with kept moaning about how there is no longer a buffer to play for (which is true tbf), but he also kept saying he would automatically go up 0.1. Gave up trying to explain that it only affects his handicap if one of his best 8 rounds dropped out of his most recent 20 played.
  12. Bob was treading water for most of today's round, but 3 birdies in 4 holes got him to -2 for the day, before a dropped shot on 17 pegged him back to -6 overall. Currently T29th but well placed to have a good run at a top 20 finish tomorrow.
  13. Seems to be a common occurence that I'll put the tv on on a Saturday morning, Melbourne Victory will be on, they will be losing, and they will have a man sent off.
  14. Bob MacIntyre paired with Adam Schenk for Round 3, tees off at 5.40 pm.
  15. I've always found it strange that the PGA tour cut mark is an odd number when they are going to play 2 balls at the weekend. I know a lot of the time it works out ok due to it being 65 +ties, but odd that if it works out as designed them somebody has to play with a marker.
  16. Despite cursing him upside down all through the WGC Matchplay, I added him in too.
  17. Lot of players sweating on the cut line, 11 players currently tied at -1, but if one more player gets to -2 then the rest of the guys on -1 will miss out.
  18. Regulation par 3 for Horschel. Tee shot into the penalty area, back to the drop zone and slam dunks his second ball.
  19. Evans 3-1 up in the second set after losing the first 7-5, hope his doubles match last night hasn't taken too much out of him.
  20. Stokes to have surgery on his broken finger next week and expected to be out for 6 weeks, will miss the Test series against New Zealand.
  21. My club have pretty much advised us just to use the Club V1/Howdidido app to enter general play scores, it gets uploaded to Scottish Golf at midnight anyway and doesn’t rely on your GPS signal working ok.
  22. The win was worth slightly more at €200k with last week bagging him just shy of €184k. Saw his interview a wee while ago, said he is feeling a bit tired. Had Monday off, played a practice round Tuesday, then only practiced for an hour on Wednesday.
  23. Bob finishes on -1, decent start. Was looking at his stats earlier and it shows the huge difference it makes if you are playing in WGC events and doing well at majors. In 6 tourneys this season he has earned just €3k less than he did from 17 tourneys last season, and that included a win.
