  1. Port Glasgow were sponsored by Eldorado a few years back, the MotM award was a bottle of El D.
  2. National League have voted to carry on with the season, North and South have voted to null and void it. https://torquayunited.com/statement-from-the-national-league/
  3. The last point was discussed last night on Tuffers and Vaughan. It would be a big change in team selection if they were to pick more than one spinner at home, and Leach (wrongly imo) seems to be their chosen man at the moment. Hard to see where Moeen would get a chance.
  4. Michael Vaughan said a lot of the same things last night on the radio. Whether deliberately or not, the choice of language made it appear that it had been a sudden change of mind when it was nothing of the sort. It also raises the question of what it has done to Dom Bess's confidence. He was rested for that test and no doubt aware that Moeen was then heading home, then they effectively beg Moeen to stay. I can understand the need for rotation at the moment, but find it bizarre that you would actually plan to tour India with a less than full strength team available.
  5. Another good looking signing for Glasgow.
  6. So it turns out Moeen didn’t ask to leave at all, it was always planned that be would go home after the second test in India. He was asked if he would stay on but stick with the original plan. Not great communication from Silverwood and Root on this one. India v England: Chris Silverwood apologises to Moeen Ali - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/56097118
  7. It's the only reason I can see, keep the positive test numbers high to justify how slow the easing of restrictions is going to be.
  8. Disappeared down a YouTube wormhole and found a couple of clips from the US version of Antiques Roadshow.
  9. Yep, definitely should have been a second yellow. Kean was abysmal at Everton, he's had a very good season so far for PSG.
  10. Calum Hill has stumbled upon a new caddy by accident, and it's one of the most experienced in the business in Phil "Wobbly" Morbey, who was on Woosnam's bag when he won the Masters. Could be a good steady hand for Calum. The first words Woosnam said to Wobbly after holing out to seal the win at Augusta were "put me down you daft c**t", after his caddy had ran on the green and hoisted him off his feet. 11. A Dutch court has ruled that the current night-time curfew is illegal and has ordered the government to lift it with immediate effect. https://www.reuters.com/article/health-coronavirus-netherlands-curfew-idUSS8N2JI05T
  12. Aye, can understand why he would want a break though. His bowling was a bit inconsistent but there were some small signs that he was getting better as the match went on. Took some big wickets.
  13. Moeen Ali has asked to go home and get out of the bubble. Nice wee innings from him this morning too. India's seamers took all 20 wickets the last time they played a home pink ball test, can see England going with Anderson, Woakes and Broad in the next test.
  14. He had a pretty miserable run last year when he missed ten cuts in a row at one point, seems to be getting back to some sort of form now. Lowest he dropped on the OWGR was 235th, from a career high of 18th at the end of 2016, quite surprised he didn't drop further tbh.
  15. Nothing wacky about it. If the software says umpire's call and the player was given not out then it has to stay not out. Looked plumb to me tbf. Nightwatchmen are a waste of time. Foakes was phenomenal behind the stumps today, if he can hit some runs in the next few matches then Buttler might have to wait to get back in. I suspect England would have been delighted to be heading into the pink ball day/night test with the series at 1-1. They'll be hoping that ball swings the way it has in other matches elsewhere.
