  1. Nick Taylor wins, with Mickelson ending up in 3rd behind Kevin Streelman who hit a terrific 68 in tough conditions. Streelman and Larry Fitzgerald won the pro-am for the 2nd time in 3 years. Mickelson needed a share of second to get into the WGC in Mexico in 2 weeks time. (According to Sky anyway) it's top 50 on the OWGR for that, not the top 100 as I posted further up, my mistake. He might still get in if anybody calls off beforehand.
  2. Wind playing havoc with the player's judgement here. Lead now 2 after Mickelson bogeys 14, but Taylor takes a 7 for a double.
  3. Seen some terrible shots in this final Round at Pebble Beach. Jason Day came up about 40 yards short at a par 3, then Mickelson and the leader both overshot the green by miles. Mickelson has also just hit a wedge into 13 that also ended up about 40 yards from where it was meant to, but has just managed to get up and down for par. Taylor leads by 3 with 5 to play.
  4. Italy looked dangerous today when France went to sleep for a spell in the second half, especially when some of the French kicking was very slack. On the flip side France cut them open often enough to make you think that Scotland can make chances, but they will need to be on their A game for 80 minutes.
  5. I can see one obvious flaw in that plan based on the evidence of the first 2 games...
  6. I fear the same, but France are doing lots of France type things to help Italy stay in the game.
  7. And he lobs the next one into space for a single for the win.
  8. Scores level, lovely cover drive for 4 by Moeen.
  9. A wicket maiden for Ngidi, not something I expected to see any time today after the way he started.
  10. Well well, 7 down with 16 still to get.
  11. Belter of a catch, England should still do this comfortably, but another quick wicket or two and it could get a bit hairy. Banton edges one just past a diving slip for 4, bit fortunate.
  12. England nudging their way comfortably towards the total, need 95 from 26 overs with Root and Denly looking set.
  13. Appalling stuff from him. His skipper must be raging.
  14. He always does well at the AT&T, the course set up in pro-am mode obviously suits him.
  15. Morgan out, caught and bowled by Hendricks. Good recovery by SA after getting hammered all round the ground at the start. 86-3.
  16. Roy gone as well, game on again. Morgan and Root have time to settle in after that start as England are way ahead of where the Saffers were at the same stage.
  17. I think having seen the turn Rashid was getting, England decided to just batter the seamers right from the off. Some terrific hitting.
  18. Petershill v Irvine Vics in December both sides had a Jordan Craig on the bench and both wearing no 17.
  19. My thoughts too. At least last week it looked like they might score a try, never thought it was likely today. Slow and predictable pick and gos from the forwards, and most of the time it ends up with ground lost rather than gained. Had to make more of having the wind at their backs in the first half. And kicking it away inside the final minute? Wtf?
  20. I'll be shocked if England win by anything less than 15 points.
  21. Far too many mistakes by Scotland.
  22. You do have to remember that the Ants Match Secretary is a former President of both the SJFA and the West Region.
