  1. Could make sense, as much as it was a shock to Brissett to find out he was the starter days before the season started, he had almost a full season under his belt when Luck was injured previously. He certainly struggled for much of the season. Winston does so many good things, but he is an interception waiting to happen. Playing mostly indoors or in the sunshine are probably the only places Rivers would want to go.
  2. You would think so. Struggling to see where else Rivers could end up tbh. Suppose things could change with free agency and the draft.
  3. Don't really see too many options for him. Maybe the Bears? They don't have a first round draft pick at the moment.
  4. Maitland is nearer the end of his career than Russell and possibly doesn't want to rock the boat. If Russell is genuinely the only player in the squad who disagrees with how things are managed then it's going to be tough for Russell to return to the squad even if Townsend was to leave.
  5. Quoting my own post which never looks good. You would also have expected Maitland to be a part of any senior players group, but he was in the same boat as Russell in that arriving late they had already set the rules before he got there. That suggests to me that only the player's on the SRU payroll are considered worthy of coming up with ideas.
  6. Just one of many reports to reference him missing training on the Monday.
  7. You would presume at age 27 and with 40 odd caps, that Russell would be part of any senior players group. He's quite right to be pissed off if they have set up all the rules without any input from him. I can't for the life of me understand why Russell and Maitland were expected to train on the Monday after playing on Sunday afternoon and travelling up straight after. Surely it wasn't too much to let them have a few beers, the same as the rest of the squad did on the Saturday, then have Monday off? I do think the bulk of the squad feel more loyalty to their employers, whereas Finn has gone to France and realised there is more than one way to manage players after 7 or 8 years under Townsend.
  8. Thought the first series was great, and the second series utter shite. Sky now showing the trailer for series 3, will give it a try to see if they can make it into something worth watching again.
  9. Think that is definitely a big part of it, the two slams in 84 and 90 definitely made me think we were among the best in the world, and we were capable of beating all the other nations on a fairly regular basis. We seem to have struggled in the 20+ years since the game went professional. We have had spells where we have had a brilliant set of forwards, but mediocre backs, and vice versa. Biggest criticism of the last few years is that Scotland have rarely performed at a high level for a full 80 minutes. Watched the women get their annual gubbing from England. Plenty of effort, but in terms of physicality I would imagine it would look pretty similar to the Warriors playing a full strength side against Allan Glens.
  10. Missy expressing zero interest in me playing FIFA.
  11. Thing is, it's not even close between him and Faldo as he has more than 3 times the weeks at the top that Faldo had, but he didn't spring instantly to mind. Which is strange, because I used to wear one of his straw hats while playing. [emoji85]
  12. Orson Bean now a Has Been. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2020/feb/08/orson-bean-actor-car-los-angeles
  13. McIlroy goes back to World Number 1 despite not playing at the weekend. He is now only 1 week behind Nick Faldo for the 3rd spot in total weeks spent at the top. I would have taken quite a few guesses to get who is in second spot behind Tiger Woods for the most weeks at the top.
  14. I can remember they did some Groupon deals for home games pre Cotter, my in laws got 2 for 1 for an Italy match.
  15. Amazing to see Speith put in such a cracking round given that he has struggled recently.
  16. Actor Robert Conrad, heart attack aged 84. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-7982503/Robert-Conrad-starred-futuristic-1960s-Western-series-Wild-Wild-West-dies-84.html
  17. Nick Taylor wins, with Mickelson ending up in 3rd behind Kevin Streelman who hit a terrific 68 in tough conditions. Streelman and Larry Fitzgerald won the pro-am for the 2nd time in 3 years. Mickelson needed a share of second to get into the WGC in Mexico in 2 weeks time. (According to Sky anyway) it's top 50 on the OWGR for that, not the top 100 as I posted further up, my mistake. He might still get in if anybody calls off beforehand.
