  1. Andy is quite scathing of the LTA in today's Daily Record, says he was at the National Tennis Centre for some training and the place was deserted. Also said they are all talk and very little action.
  2. Andy Murray for me, yes they might win the team prize but he did the bulk of the work, 11 points all told in the Davis Cup and unbeaten all year and had to carry that pressure of having to win his singles every time. Jessica Enniskillen? Max Whitlock would be a deserving winner imo, first British man to win an individual gymnastics gold. Greg Rutherford should also be a strong contender, holding all the major titles at the same time, but he probably won't even get a mention.
  3. Former NZ captain Chris Cairns was found not guilty of perjury and perverting the course of justice.
  4. Not so sure, an athletics world championship doesn't draw the same level of interest as an Olympics, especially a home one. Thing that will count against Murray, and probably Hamilton too, is they both won it recently.
  5. Can't see him winning it, it's a public vote and I don't know anyone who likes him! Between Murray and Hamilton imo.
  6. Yep, other guys like Colin Fleming, Johhny Marray and Ross Hutchins also deserve a mention, all played their part over the years as they made their way up the tables.
  7. Heard Leon Smith on 5live's preview show during the week, comes across as a very shrewd man. He's the first to admit that he can't tell the players anything from his own experience as a player as he never played at the level of any of the players on the team. Instead it's all down to preparation and analysis of the opposition and just trying to keep the players focused on their game plan. Surely Murray must be a shoe in for SPOTY? And the team for the team trophy?
  8. Thought Goffin played out of his skin, pushed Murray all the way, what a shot to win the final game.
  9. The aussies finally stagger over the line with 3 wickets in hand. The pink ball started to swing around after it got dark. It's Test Cricket, but not as we know it.
  10. Australia need 74 to win at dinner with 7 wickets in hand. Should be comfortable but the ball seems to do strange things after the sun goes down.
  11. First time they have won at Thomond Park since 1886, great start to the season for them.
  12. Australia 70-3, started ok but lost a couple of wickets in quick succession to get themselves sweating a but.
  13. Kiwis all out for 208, Australia need 187 to win.
  14. NZ were 116-5 at the close, leading by 94 runs. The Aussies certainly made the most of the Lyon not out decision, fair play to Starc for coming in and having a bash with a broken foot, that 24 could make a huge difference in the outcome of the match, Impressed by Peter Neville again, he's been excellent since he came into the side during the Ashes.
  15. Agree that it took far too long, but although there was nothing on snicko there was a clear white spot on the bat on all three angles on hot spot. Even Lyon was halfway back to the pavilion after he saw the first replays. Potentially a gamechanging decision.
  16. Yep, 202 looks like a decent score all of a sudden!
  17. My bad, wrong info from a tweet I saw through the night.
  18. Big change in the county championship next season as the visiting captain will be given the option of batting first. If he declines then the coin toss will take place as normal.

    The Chase

Especially when the guy on seat 4 was woeful, contributed just 2k to the pot, then only helped out with one answer to push the beast back 1 thst by that stage they didn't even need.
  20. Don't really see the point of the film if it's not based on the book, I thought the book was hilarious too and it will take some effort to come up with anything better imo. Just finished Trigger Mortis by Anthony Horowitz. A decent addition to the James Bond books and it would fit into the original series as a sequel to Goldfinger.
  21. A good read, if perhaps a little insensitive in the timing. http://m.independent.ie/sport/rugby/neil-francis-on-jonah-lomu-a-life-lost-needlessly-34222682.html
  22. And lost in the NFC Championship game the following year, but it's all Kap's fault. Don't get me wrong, I don't believe that he was as good as a lot of the hype around him, but he's being made the fall guy after the whole organisation ballsed up both the quality on the roster and the head coach appointment.
