  1. Thought Australia should have taken the points there. 2 behind with 5 minutes left to play would have made more sense given the number of turnovers in the game. We need to get the ball long now.
  2. A bit lucky but we'll take it.
  3. 30 seconds for Ryan Wilson to get involved in something...
  4. If colt teams are allowed in at any level they will eventually make their way up the leagues. One of the colt sides would win the Lowland League at some point and there would be an annual campaign to allow them to get promoted. If the Lowland League are willing to accept colts teams, and the SPFL are able to find a way of getting them in without letting the 42 league clubs vote on the issue, then f**k the pyramid. The 42 clubs from League Two upwards should then vote to abolish all potential promotion from the Lowland/Highland Leagues until the colt teams are removed. This issue will never go away if clubs simply say the colt teams can enter just so long as it’s not at our level.
  5. What's the difference between weather and climate? You can't weather a tree but you can climate.
  6. The point is not whether this would actually improve young players, or which teams are willing and able to enter colt sides into the league. The point is that lower league clubs currently compete against other senior clubs of a similar standing, with similar goals, ambitions and resources. Making them compete with colt teams, from clubs with vastly different resources, and the main objective of developing young players with only a second thought to winning games/league titles would make a mockery of the league set up. Whether they entered a new League Three or the East of Scotland league is immaterial. I don’t care if this set up is run in other countries who deem it acceptable, fans of the clubs the colt teams wish to play against have no appetite for it. And for all those who hold up Spain and the like as examples, England have just won the Under 20’s World Cup with a team full of players who have played most of their football on loan from top clubs to teams further down the leagues.
  7. For me, Saturdays episode was just a bit bland. There was nothing really to be excited about and the ending slipped from the British soldiers gaining the respect of the Ice Warriors, to a bit of a soppy love in that didn’t really seem in keeping with what had just happened. There was also a lack of conversations, and general screen time, between Capaldi and Pearl Mackie who have carried the poorer storylines this series.
  8. Training Day - 7/10 Finally got round to watching this and while I enjoyed it, probably because it had been over-hyped previously, it wasn't as good as I expected.
  9. Visser showing he just doesn't want to tackle.
  10. I’d forgotten when the draw was made that Montpellier is where Vern Cotter has gone. I suppose that will make those games harder as he’ll know what to expect, even with Glasgow having a new coach.

  12. Put my prematch bet on over 1.5 goals so got £70 back already. But went for Mandzukic FGS in play so of course he scored second.
  13. You'd think they would just have reduced the amount to £10 or £20 max and offered it too more people, as opposed to trying to pick and choose. It probably helps that I'm well down with Bet365 this season and, I don't usually play as safe as some with the bet. Usually go for BTTS or something similar, though I've rarely lost money with this offer. Incidentally, I've actually swapped from Bet365 to Skybet in the last few months as my main account, and I'm so much better off for it.
  14. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/40108374 This is the kind of horrid, cringe-worthy thing that makes me dislike the Lions, far more than team selection issues etc.
  15. Both Robertson and Tierney play as part of a back four for their clubs. In fact, I would guess that’s the case for most of our defenders. Playing with three centrebacks and wingbacks takes time to adapt to and practice. It’s maybe something to try out in some friendlies but not just now. More importantly, we struggle to pick two central defenders as it is, without adding a third, and with Calum Paterson out injured we don’t have any options for the right wingback. Tierney covered rightback against Slovenia and did well (though they barely tested him all game) but a right wingback has to provide your width in that system which you can’t do playing someone on the wrong side of the pitch. The problem isn’t that 4-2-3-1 is not the correct formation for us, it usually is. The problem is that since he took over, Gordon Strachan has played it relentlessly regardless of our opposition.
  16. I'm fairly sure the game in Fiji in 2012 was televised by someone using a feed from Fijian TV. The whole game is on youtube, though I don't have sound at the moment to hear if the commentary says who it was. I suspect the Samoa game from that tour wasn't on TV. ETA - Looking at kick off timing etc I might be thinking of a different game, or it may have been shown delayed the next morning instead of live.
  17. Into the final! Injury time again.
  18. First victory against New Zealand in sevens or fifteens! Stunning second half.

    The Wire

I like series 3, it has a lot of payoffs you’ve been waiting for during the previous two series, but series 4 is my favourite. You can’t beat Prez as a teacher.
  20. I enjoyed it. Lots to like but still fell just short of being a really good episode, like a lot of the series so far. I may have missed it but was there an explanation of why Bill was kept alive in her suit while the rest weren’t?
  21. That's a shame for Clermont, but not for me.
