  1. Just finished watching the F1 Qualifying so flicked over to the rugby sevens to see Scotland losing to Russia. Finished 14-5 to Russia, then checked back to see we already lost to Argentina and USA. Turned it off.
  2. Another great moment for Duncan... I put a fiver on Connacht to win by 16-20 points. Edinburgh aren't even gonna keep it that close at this rate.
  3. I thought John Simm was excellent as the Master and really enjoy those episodes. The later episode (The End of Time) where they resurrected him wasn’t quite as good and I’d worry, considering how poor the recent stories have been, about them bringing him back again.
  4. To add some interest (read lose money) while watching the games tonight: Boyd & Garner to score and 6+ corners – 40/1 Rangers win, BTTS, 12+ corners, 60+ booking points – 16/1 Cahill & Stones to be booked – 40/1 Sane to score & be booked – 14/1
  5. Cracking wins but more importantly, get those 40 extra tabs in your browser closed. That would drive me insane.
  6. Torn between Rose and Day. Will probably put something on Thomas Pieters at 80/1 too.
  7. Whilst I wish we weren't in such a desperate situation in the league that we've signed Goodwillie, a little perspective is helpful. The alleged rape happened in 2011 - not including Clyde, he's played for 8 clubs since then. It's not as though he's caused issues at all those clubs.
  8. Do I like that we've signed him? No. Will I complain if he helps keep us in the league? Not in the slightest.
  9. Shawshank Star Wars (Original Trilogy + Phantom Menace) Lord of the Rings (1 & 2) Donnie Darko A Few Good Men Remember the Titans Sunshine Primer Toy Story (1 & 2) Finding Nemo
  10. Great to get the bonus point. Now let's see out the last few minutes without conceding a point - which no other team has managed in the tournament.
  11. Had money on Huw Jones for the first try and he slips And now might be injured...
  12. Don't get me wrong, we've had a more than decent tournament and if England and ourselves win tomorrow we'll finish at least 3rd in the table. I was more meaning in terms of the feeling running up to the final game, as opposed to our overall performance. Maybe it's just too many years watching dreadful games between ourselves and Italy but we now have players who should at least keep it entertaining.
  13. Hogg, Seymour and Wilson all make the team for Saturday. Ross Ford comes into the starting line up.
  14. It always feels like a slight anti-climax when we play Italy last (other than if we’ve lost every game until then). How well we’ve done is generally judged on other games, and even if we beat them comfortably tomorrow with a bonus point, it won’t eradicate the memory of the England game.
  15. Just watched the first two series on Netflix in the past two weeks. Felt series 2 got a little carried away with literally everyone, including those in AC-12, having issues (financial, affairs etc) but still enjoying it. Will catch series 3 on iPlayer as it goes up and roll straight onto series 4.
  16. Metallica standing tickets are £96.50 each. Removes any slight chance of me being interested.
  17. He's says Jaws isn't about a shark because the book (which I haven't read) focuses a lot on relationships/infidelity, as well as having a shark. Though the film itself is really about the shark...
  18. Going for David Luiz, Rojo, Valencia and Herrera all to be booked tonight at 33/1 to add some interest.
  19. Parisse (Italy) 1st Tryscorer £5 for £105 Vakatawa (France) 3rd Tryscorer £4 for £24 Picamoles (France) 4th Tryscorer £3 for £36 Joseph (England) 5th Tryscorer £5 for £55 Minus £55 of failed tryscorer bets. Not a bad profit for watching some mostly dire rugby.
  20. Everyone has quite rightly pointed out the shambles that is our defence but (just to put a different slant on things) the lack of goals scored from anyone but the strikers is a huge issue as well. Obviously, MacDonald’s 19 goals (and 12 assists) have been huge for us but that’s pretty much where it stops. Gormley’s contributed a lot more recently but still only has 7 league goals this season. Higgins has 8 goals all in but, only one goal since the end of October. Higgins is obviously useless in midfield but at least when he started the season up front he was capable of chipping in with the odd goal. The next top scorer is Chris Smith with 4 goals (another reason I wouldn’t drop him). Everyone else should be embarrassed as Easton, from just 8 appearances, is still level with Flynn and McNeil on 2 goals, and ahead of the rest. Undoubtedly, Flynn would have scored more if he’d started regularly, or even be used as a substitute more effectively. Linton, though playing through injury at times, has only a single goal from 30 appearances this season which is pretty much unacceptable, considering he’s mostly played in midfield. McLaughlin and McNiff only have one each as well, despite plenty of games. After his injury, this season has obviously been about getting back to full match sharpness for Scott Ferguson, which is fine personally but doesn’t help the team. He’s been playing much better recently and is now happy to take on a defender again but we really need him to add goals back to his game. Perry hasn’t scored at all in 25 appearances despite going forward for every single corner we get. We’ve lost 15 games this season by a single goal. Yes, sometimes the answer has to be concede less, but the odd goal here and there from more players throughout the team would have made a massive difference
  21. Continued my dismal losing streak tonight however, my prematch £5 bet on Barcelona to win the Champions League at 40/1 just became more interesting.
