I said the points gap was false. But let’s say Airdrie win their games in hand and beat us, they are only 1 point behind.(or ahead depending on our result with Raith and whoever they are playing). If we lose to Dunfermline, Morton beat Airdrie and win their game in hand, they are only 3 behind. I don’t think we are secure in 3rd place just yet.

When your argument is based on 3 games going the way of a team and still not overtaking us it would suggest the gap is not in fact false.

I am a 42 year old project manager with a degree in history/politics. I have always dreamt of being an astronaut (or cosmonaut/taikonaut/spationaut) and spending a year on the ISS. How do you suggest I make this happen?

'Who's on the spaceship' thread for this.

On another point, how long does it take them to update the points on your account normally? Certainly haven't added the Dutch and Irish game points yet.

It's usually either the week of the last game of the window or the week after. With the bank holidays and it being the first games using the new ticketing system it might differ this time round but that's the usual timeframe.

  4. As much as JJ Bull's take is drivel the worst of the lot is the Scots Abroad guy trying to blame Gunn for launching it forward before Patterson's numerous f**k ups. Apparently a keeper who came through the English youth ranks and hasn't played a minute of club football in Scotland not playing out from the back somehow means Scottish football must change its philosophy.

  5. I believe the answer is that you can pick up a ticket from the ticket portacabin they've got set up outside the stadium if you are in the category of having no smartphone and not going with anyone who has a smartphone but they aren't publicising this option very much as I assume they want to avoid people doing it unless it's an absolute last resort.

Based on the experience of people who had issues with their app you probably would struggle to get through to them on the phone or email in order to confirm this though so unless you were very determined to go you would probably just leave it if you didn't have a smartphone.

A friend and I had gambled we wouldn't be playing our final group game on Sunday the 23rd and so booked our flights into Dusseldorf for that day to take in the final week of group matches. Lo and behold we were drawn to play that day. Thankfully it's not until the evening and we land relatively early in the day.

Still, we will likely need to hoof it to our accommodation in Dusseldorf, dump our bags and then make our way to Stuttgart. No tickets as yet so the plan is to watch the match at Schlossplatz fan zone. Then, probably do an all-nighter and travel back to Dusseldorf the following day.

We did manage to get tickets to see Slovakia v Romania on the Wednesday in Frankfurt so at least we will be able to take in one of the matches.

ETA: turns out our flight is later than I'd thought so probably struggling to make it to Stuttgart. Will need to try and sniff out somewhere in Dusseldorf to watch it. I imagine the fan zone will just show the Germany game.

Not a recommendation of it as a great pub or anything as there's plenty better in Dusseldorf but a decent shout for showing it will be Sutton's in the Altstadt just because they have a load of TVs and will chuck anything they have available on at least one of them for anyone who asks. Might be worth trying them if you are struggling with it clashing with the Germany game.

This is a must win for us, no chance we are going to draw our way out of 9th place and into safety. After 3 draws in this fixture it stands to reason that this one will end in a win for someone. If this was up in Inverness I would be less confident. As I mentioned before we have traditionally gone on a late season runs of wins, with only 8 games left is a case of soon, when? or never.

6 games left unless of course you are factoring in finishing 9th and then losing in the playoff semis.

Help needed. Bought the package for myself and my son. Now, I've always bought for the two of us and we've been SSC members for so long I can't remember what details are held in my son's account. Never had to bother with it, just bought tickets which got sent to my email and I'd print them off. I got my email and got the app and can see my ticket but nothing for my son. He didn't get an email with the app details.  He's tried all his emails/password combinations to log into his SSC account to see what email is held there but no joy. He started  emailing/tried phoning the SFA on Monday and sent a message to the SFA Twitter to try and get it resolved but not had any responses. Any words of wisdom to help will be good.

If you've bought both will you not have him in your family and friends section which will show you the email address he's signed up with and then you've got a starting point for him resetting his password?

Login then My Account then Friends and Family and it should show his details.

The Sun (🤮) reporting that Hanley has pulled out of the squad for this break. Same article has Stephen Pressley saying It’s touch-and-go as to whether Hickey makes the Euros.

Carver at today's Scotland press conference said they are waiting to find out about Hickey but the hope is he's back training with Brentford in the next two to three weeks. I appreciate Pressley is involved at Brenford but I'm choosing to believe Carver since it's better news.

Without trying to be the thread police, I think that the merits for and against artificial pitches are well rehearsed and folks have their (often immovable) views.

What I would stress to fans of teams who don't currently have an artificial pitch is to try and see the bigger picture: Premiership-only voting on issues which impact the entire SPFL should be resisted hard.

You can easily see how pitches one year becomes 'bans on open terracing with every punter, even if safe standing, needing a fixed seat in the top flight' (meaning enormous bills or down right exclusion due to it not being financially viable for clubs like Ayr, Morton, Arbroath, QoS, Montrose alloa etc. should they ever get promoted); or 'bans on TV gantries below X height in the top flight' etc etc. that just further pulls up the drawbridge. Not to mention that the principle of premiership voting could seep out beyond 'entry criteria'.

So even if you hate artificial pitches and don't buy the community arguments, fine. But from a self-interest perspective, all fans of clubs outside the big boys should be concerned about this and the precedent it could set.

This argument is as disingenuous as the people pretending clubs install plastic pitches for the good of the community. It won't set any precedent and the top flight clubs haven't arbitrarily decided to just have a vote amongst themselves, the articles of association make it clear when a vote of all clubs is required and when it isn't.  For example your claim about bans on TV gantries below a certain height would fall under a change to media facilities which is in Section I of the SPFL rules and regulations and therefore requires a resolution which would be voted on by all clubs. There's plenty of things a single division can vote on for changing for themselves and none of them would set any precedent, we saw that when the Championship clubs decided against using 5 subs when the other leagues adopted it during the COVID season.

FWIW the rules on artificial surfaces as things stand already differ from the Premiership to the other SPFL divisions and no one seemed to notice or care.

  12. I know people pay for the convenience but I can never get my head around away trips with Wonky Sheep paying £550 for Poland or £800+ for Georgia.  For a change though that flight might be the only thing I've seen from them that would tempt me if I wasn't staying on for the last 16 anyway.

Surely when the tickets do come through they'll be a QR code like previous?? If so, when it becomes available, log in via your phone, screenshot the codes and then send them onto your son.

With the new app it's dynamic QR codes, you won't be able to screenshot them.
