The less said about the ref the better. Didn't look fit to referee a schoolboys game yet with a weekend of no Premier League games he gets one of the bigger games of the weekend somehow... I've no idea who he is but he can't be one of our top refs surely.

You're the luckiest person on the forum if this is your first dealing with Craig Napier.

  2. To add to what has already been said about the potential venues if we finish 3rd we are more likely to end up at some of the venues mentioned over others.

Based on that there's 10 possible outcomes for the 3rd placed team in group A.

5 out of 10 have 3rd place in our group playing v the winner of group F (Portugal, Turkey, Czech Republic and Playoff winner C) in Frankfurt on 1st July

3 out of 10 have 3rd place in our group playing the winner of group B (Spain, Croatia, Italy and Albania) in Cologne on 30th June

2 out of 10 have 3rd place in our group playing the winner of group E (Belgium, Romania, Slovakia, Playoff winner B) in Munich on 2nd July

Take it we all think there's no chance Quansah declares for us? A centre back regularly playing for Liverpool could be a great option for us

I'd say so. If you look at recent England squads centre back is probably the obvious position for a young player breaking through to fancy their chances of getting a game for them in the next few years, especially if Southgate leaves and takes his need to play Harry Maguire at all costs with him.

  4. Normal away section is 416-417 but apparently the Dutch have blocked off sections 414-417 (and 413 as segregation) now tickets are on sale to home fans so looks like there'll be enough away end tickets for anyone looking to go. Guess our section will be category 4 so 35 euro.

  5. That Safe Standing English guy on twitter who seems to be helping out half of the UK with booking their trips asked DB about some of the cross border trains not being reservable yet. Further down the thread DB say it's normally around 3 months in advance.

I had a similar issue with a train from Berlin to Warsaw earlier in the year on the way to Tbilisi and it turned out they had stopped taking bookings on any train to Poland that weekend as there might be engineering works and rather than tell you that you just got that seat resevation error. Once they confirmed the engineering works weren't happening I was fine to book but that was only maybe around 2 months before I travelled.

This looks like it could be very useful, cheers.

One small problem with the train I’ve booked from Frankfurt to Munich, is that I think the ticket says the seat reservations are in carriage 24 - but the train diagram on that Czech website shows the carriage numbers as going 26, 25, 23, 22. Which seems a bit weird. Ever seen that before on there or any idea what’s going on?

    https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/vlak.php?zeme=DB&kategorie=ICE&cislo=529&nazev=&rok=2024

The 2024 timetable is just out and the site is just a labour of love for some train geeks so they might not have caught if the carriage numbers have changed on some trains. Even if the times don't match up this train in the link is near enough certain to be the same as the one you're on so the layout of 24 on this will more than likely be the same as the one you're on.

Does anyone have a link to booking these trains? I've tried on ICE and EuroStar but showing nothing available from 19th - 24th June, unless these become available in the coming days.

DB sell from 180 days in advance so only up to the 15th June just now. Eurostar have their own sale dates so not sure about when they go on sale.

Never bothered booking specific seats, when went over to Frankfurt nobody seemed to be giving a f**k. I presume there will be unbooked carriages or just a general free for all?

There's no specific unreserved carriage, on busier trains you just need to find a seat which does not have it displayed above it as being reserved or risk being asked to move. With the expectation being some of the trains to and from host cities will be mobbed you could in theory end up standing all the way if all seats end up reserved. On some trains you may also see 'GGF reserviert' above some seats which means they are reserved for people who have missed connections due to delays so you're fine to sit there but might get moved if someone who has missed their connection and had reserved a seat on a previous train turns up.

My experience is some Germans are quite happy to sit in a reserved seat and then seem annoyed if punted out the seat they haven't paid to reserve so I wouldn't worry about it.

Had booked return flights to Amsterdam ages ago 14th to 21st, only issue would be in the unlikely scenario we got drawn for the opening game…

Now changed flights so out on the 13th and early flight from Amsterdam to Munich on the 14th. Will need to get a train on the 15th Munich to Cologne but was planning to leave it closer to the time. Is that a bad idea and I need to book any trains now?

The more people that book the more the price will go up as the Super Sparpreis tickets become less available so if you can then book now, especially with it being the route to the city we play in next meaning there'll be tons of Scotland fans in the same boat.

If you have tickets to the game then you could wait until 17th January for the euro 2024 train tickets for 29.90euro but these will be limited availability and they've not given much information about how limited they'll be and if you read this thread no one is really sure about what time they'll be valid until the day after games either.

Booked the ICE train this morning, price of train was really expensive which was a surprise as it was the first day booking.  Ended up booking first class as the same price - 5 min change at Cologne worries me though

Based on recent experience of Deutsche Bahn I'd be amazed if you make a 5 minute connection but if that's the case you're fine to get the next available connection. If worried about any hassle you can get the conductor on the first train to confirm you missed it due to a delay in writing. I think you can get the same from the ticket office at the connecting train station too if you have time. I've not bothered with it in the past and the conductor on the next train hasn't cared after I explained about the delay.

DB Navigator app will tell you the platform of your connection so if it is all on time you can get there without having to check the boards to save some time.

Anyone having any luck buying tickets from Paris to Munich on trainline app. Coming up as all sold-out for me?

If it's the route that's all Deutsche Bahn trains via Stuttgart or Mannheim then you'll be able to buy them for the day before the game right now on the DB website. If you're travelling on the day of the game it's not on sale until tomorrow (or 11pm UK time tonight).

If it's any of the routes that involve the eurostar then it won't be available as the eurostar leg isn't on sale yet.

  12. 1.4m applications for the opening game alone.

There has been overwhelming demand for tickets for the 2024 European Championship, to be held in Germany. DFB president Bernd Neuendorf confirmed there have been 2.3 million requests for the final in Berlin.

Interest in Euro 2024 tickets is huge in the host nation of Germany and all over the world, German Football Federation (DFB) president Bernd Neuendorf said on Friday.

So far there have been 2.3 million ticket requests for the July 14 final in Berlin, and 1.4 million for the June 14 tournament opener between Germany and Scotland, Neuendorf told journalists.

The DFB president said that the requests were not limited to Germany and the 20 other qualified teams, with the final three berths to be decided in March, but that applications have come from 206 countries.

Neuendorf said the most requests are from Croatia, Albania and Turkey, whose teams have already qualified.

A second ticket sales stage with a million tickets for fans of the qualified teams has ended. A first phase saw 1.2 million tickets sold from around 20 million requests.

"We are very satisfied with the start of ticket sales," the organizing committee said after the first stage. "Interest from Germany, but also the whole world, is huge. Just three hours after the start 3.1 million tickets were applied for from 142 countries."

Neuendorf said huge enthusiasm was also visible in 45,000 applications for 16,000 volunteer positions.
