  1. I'm also not sure there's any regional trains where you can book a seat in advance. I've yet to not be able to get on a regional train due to it being too busy though and I include after football, probably different first thing in the morning when there are commuters though.

Also make sure you cancel it before a certain day in the month or you'll get charged for July too, it's a subscription rather than a one off.

There goes any hope of having a cheap trip. Looking like I’ll be doing a serious amount of overtime for the next six months.

I'm seriously considering just keeping my Rotterdam hotel and doing Amsterdam as an in and out job on the night. Choices in Amsterdam seem to be stay in a shitehole or spent a few hundred quid.

Any thoughts on the Euro 2024 Interrail pass? It says it includes one journey back to your home country - do we think this will include both a Eurostar to London and a trip back up to Scotland from there?

LNER and the Caledonian Sleeper are specifically listed in their British train companies so I don't see why it wouldn't. Could always ask interrail directly and ask then they've got a month to reply before they go on sale. https://www.interrail.eu/en/support#contact-us

  4. I know it's the other way round from the information the SFA gave

    Quote

Any member who has already been successful in the UEFA ballot for a Scotland match or matches that take place during the same day as a Scotland match, will not be able to purchase tickets.

but I wouldn't be chancing anything that could get my own tickets cancelled.

  5. Standard away allocation in Amsterdam is 2750 and Rotterdam is 2106. The French didn't even give us the minimum last time since it was a friendly though and if the Dutch move it somewhere else in the country where it's a novelty to see the national team we could end up shafted a bit like we were in Lille.

It's near impossible to have an educated guess as to how many points games like this will drop down to these days. It's after the Euros tickets are bought plus people will be saving for Germany which might help it drop a bit but anyone with a bit of optimism might have noticed the last 16 allocation is 6000 rather than the 10k we got in the group stages and want to get the extra points just in case we get through.

I've had a change of heart overnight for pretty much my ow version of your reasons above. My dad's perfectly healthy but is elderly now and we might never get the chance to do this again and we wouldn't make the trip without tickets - if you lump the ticket cost in, it's part of the cost of the trip.

I'm hoping that the 11 pointers had finished their business by yesterday evening so hopefully those Cat 1 tickets for the Hungary game are still available for today (I'm on 10 points).

Hopefully someone who has bought tickets can help me. I looked at the UEFA website last night to see what is involved in the ballot. Now when I log in it takes me straight to my half-finished application for the ballot with no other options. Does the SFA email with the code take you to a portal solely for the SFA allocation?

Yes there's a link within the email that takes you straight to the access code page (or waiting room as was the case for people yesterday).

  7. Do some research on how much the intercity trains normally cost for the journey you're making as they go on sale 6 months beforehand and the deals for match ticket holders are limited without much detail as to how limited.  By the time January 17th comes around if you miss out then prices may have went up for normal fares. There's a couple of trains I'm getting that I'm just planning on booking in December and not taking the chance.

The deal for ticket holders is only up until 10am the day after the game and that's arriving at your destination, not when the train leaves so unless you want to get up early after the game then it also might be worthwhile booking in December.

  8. I don't think you need 4G. If it's like last time you need your bluetooth on for the downloaded ticket in the app, a steward outside the stadium activates the ticket in the app with some scanner and then you can use it to scan through the turnstiles.

Was fairly straight forward last time but that was with limited crowds, don't fancy the wait for both queues when it's full stadiums.

They said they are not transferrable but not sure how they enforce that.

As far as I'm concerned if someone had your UEFA login details they could use that on their phone to download the digital tickets.

These aren't like traditional QR code tickets, you will download them to your Apple or Android wallet and then they become an RFID ticket using your wallet.

We had those at the NFL games in London in October.

End of the day if someone has your login details then they should be able to to download the ticket to their phone as far as I can tell.

They ain't gonna check passports at the gate so not sure how else they could stop it?

They don't get downloaded into your wallet, they stay within the UEFA app unless it's changed since last time.

You'd need to have some amount of trust in someone to give them access if you're giving up your tickets first.

Is it possible to swap tickets for different games between ssc members?  Say I got 2 cat 1 tickets for game 2 or 3 could I swap these with someone with cat 3 tickets for game 1?

    No.

Nah I mean I’m a 10 pointer holding out hope for maaaybe getting a ticket and was wondering how 12+ pointers got on with it.

It just came off as £97 (for 110 euro) pending on my bank statement and my bank is one of the ones that usually shafts you for using your card abroad.

For the benefit of those of us who don't "Twitter" that all it says? That's about 1,000 more than I expected at this stage. I wonder if there are a few 12 pointers who don't want to travel abroad or a few eligible who are waiting on lower points mates / family to buy together.

    Germany - Approx. 3500 Standard Tickets- CAT 1, CAT 2 & CAT 3 Remaining. 20 Wheelchair Bays

Switzerland - Approx. 3500 Standard Tickets - CAT 1 & CAT 2 Remaining. 10 Wheelchair Bays 8 Easy Access Tickets

Hungary - Approx. 3500 Standard Tickets- CAT 1, CAT 2 & CAT 3 Remaining. 16 Wheelchair Bays 7 Easy Access Tickets

    That's all it says.

  13. Surprised that it's around the same left for all 3 but good that people will have the choice today.

I think if I was on 11 I'd just go for Switzerland or Hungary and save the money, the Olympic Park fanzone for Munich looks like it'll be incredible.

Does anyone know why you don’t get SSC points for these tickets?

It's another one of those 'it's always been the case' things.

I'd imagine they don't want to have to deal with complaints of those who just miss out that people just ahead of them could potentially end up 6 points ahead of them by the time the Nations League comes around in September (or 12 points if you think we're winning the lot). The argument is probably that these are the games we build up points to go to and also it's UEFA who adminster the tickets so I'm not even sure if the SSC have a record of who is getting tickets.

Haven't found the SSC advice from 2019 but the numbers weren't that different for England. They knew what the situation would be.

Anyway, apart from the day 1 blip I'd say they're doing ok so far! :)

The numbers did end up being different though, England didn't get a near 12k allocation against us.

So other than the numbers being different, around 70% of tickets being in the cheapest category, England running a system where all members could apply and were then allocated tickets based on your points total and them giving priority for lower categories to fans with more points it's exactly the same. :)

Benefiting from what? The tickets being sold exactly the same way as they’re sold for any other fixture away from Hampden?

Not any other fixture. France in 2007 had a big difference in price for categories of tickets and they gave those with more points first shout. We're looking at another 3 or 4 max since then with a major difference in pricing one of which was Belgium where the higher category allocation was tiny so splitting it would've been largely pointless. Certainly not enough to say one way or another what they would or should do.

It's done now anyway and other than a few unlucky folk it seems to have been relatively painless so hopefully we keep qualifying so the same argument can crop up every 2 years.
