  1. Tbh, if we're paying a fee I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 3 year deal. Off the top of my head Moult and Carson were players we paid fees for and both were 3 year contracts. Agree with the general point though.
  2. Pretty much. Which isn't to say your lot wouldn't be interested but as I posted on our thread Fry had said we had an agreement "in principle" and Robinson confirmed that we were hopeful of getting something sorted out. That was back in April. O'Hara was in the local press last week saying: O'Hara's actually transfer listed at Peterborough so they're clearly actively trying to move him on but given the bodies we have in midfield (Turnbull, Campbell, Donnelly and Polworth plus Maguire, Semple and Cornelius) it's not really a priority for us. Especially on a £50k fee when Robinson's publicly saying we're short of at least two forwards.
  3. There's an element of recency bias when it comes to O'Hara. He really began to hit a bit of form after the winter break. He was a big part of turning things round from 4-1 to 4-4 in the SC game against your lot but prior to that up until mid-December you'd have forgotten we'd even signed him. He didn't play his first 90 mins in the league until the 1-0 against Kilmarnock on 21st December. He's someone that under normal circumstances I think most of us would have been happy to have sticking around. We were speaking to Peterborough about take him back in April. Robinson confirmed that in an interview on BT (13:30 mins here), Fry had confirmed that we had a deal confirmed 'in principle' back then as well. As it stands though we've got a midfield of Turnbull, Donnelly, Campbell and Polworth plus Barry Maguire's just signed an extension so it's one of the areas of the park we've got bodies as we've promoted Jamie Semple and Dean Cornelius to the first team now. Donnelly, Campbell and Maguire all fit in the role O'Hara was playing for us. O'Hara was in the Motherwell Times last week saying that he'd been in touch with Robinson: Which sounds about right tbh.
  4. Saw that, tbh it sounds a lot like Barry Fry being Barry Fry. He's transfer-listed, they're keen to get him out the door. We had something in place in principle but circumstances mean he's no longer a priority. I mean, there's not a lot there that's difficult to understand. From the sound of Robinson's comments on the socials during the week it's forwards that are our focus just now.
  5. Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher Run The Jewels - RTJ4 Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia Already firmly in my ATOY list.
  6. Ah right, I didn't realise there was a suggestion we were making cuts. As you were I guess.
  7. Update on the Academy from Hammell which is interesting given the current climate.
  8. This is from April when Hearts had to walk back a car crash interview Budge did on 5 Live (I think). Basically they shat it because it ended up being reported as "Ann Budge wants to stop 9IAR" in the press. Presumably it would have been pointed out that what they seemed to be arguing for - ie: "promotions but no relegations" - would require reconstruction, for which there was no appetite among member clubs (and was proven to be the case).
  9. I wondered the same. All the budget noises that were being made suggested there wouldn't be too much movement but 3 in so far and Robinson talking about feeling we need another two forwards (budget permitting)... I'm surprised Polworth didn't take the #7 tbh. It was his shirt at Caley. That's it. Looking at this then 2 "play across the front three" forwards and I'd have thought we'd pretty much be done. Lamie can cover LB and Gallagher can cover RB.
  10. If you give Tait's IG a follow you'll get an idea of what he's about. He fucking loves his CrossFit and I'm fairly sure he has a side gig as a PT at a gym in Hamilton. As others have said he signed for us as a RB but ended up playing LB post-Hammell and his versatility also meant we were able to get Cadden in the side at RWB. While that gave us a bit of balance it also coincided with the assists that had initially been a big part of Tait's game drying up - which is actually quite annoying as he's got a smashing delivery with his left and right. He picked up an injury in his first season that kept him out from February until the end of the season. After that though he had 46 apps in 17/18 and 45 in 18/19. As @crazylegsjoe_mfc says above last season Grimshaw and Carroll made the RB and LB positions their own and Tait was down to 20 appearances so while most of us would have been more than happy for him to stick around if you guys are offering 1st team football and a 2 year deal it's no real surprise to see him take that offer. If you've been on our thread you'll have seen the image of him squaring up to Boyata - I can imagine Goodwin liking his attitude a lot. Anyway, he's been doing videos of his workouts for a fair bit of the shutdown...this is very much his patter.
  11. He filled in at CB a couple of times and also on the right side of a back 3 but he's by no means a centre back. In the end he probably ended up playing left back/LWB for us more than he did RB.
  12. That's Jack Brown signed for Albion Rovers having been released from our Reserves. Good luck to him.
  13. You can add Schona Jolly QC, Jo Maugham QC, and David Allen Green to his *legal Twitter* followers as well.
  14. Oh aye? Robinson saying he thinks we need another two forwards...minimum. (If the budget allows). That's interesting - and pretty much in line with what a few comments in this thread.
  15. As @crazylegsjoe_mfc says he's a 'forward' in the 'can play across the front 3' style but from what I can tell he seems like the sort of player who's far more comfortable with the ball at his feet facing goal. A kind of 'creative' forward if that makes sense? Definitely a different type of player to Long. Wigan extended his deal last August on a 3 year contract - so he's clearly someone they're looking to develop rather than offload. He's already been out on loan at Morcambe, Oldham and Shrewsbury - 78 games across those spells and 25 goals. It seems he missed a chunk of last season due to injury.
  16. Scott Burns has us in for Callum Lang on loan from Wigan. That would be a cracking signing IMO.
  17. They definitely failed to win their last game amirite lads?
  18. In Motherwell's case if you don't renew you'll be eligible for individual match tickets for the number of games played behind closed doors.
  19. Contracts update: Maguire, Hussain, Morrison and Robinson confirm their extensions. Maguire's confirmed on his IG that it's a 2 year deal he's signed. Just leaves Long and Dunne from those offered.
  20. I'll not lie, when all this kicked off I honestly just thought English was being intentionally thick for clicks. Basically an anti-SPFL 'there's a conspiracy' stance would play better in terms of traffic than siding with the league body. As it turns out he seems to have fully committed to drinking the Kool Aid. Either that or he's on the payroll at Tynecastle. The podcast yesterday with him and Levein flailing around yelling "it's not fair" was actually painful
  21. Allan Campbell keeps the #6 shirt ending that run of changes. #numberpolis cc: @Desp @crazylegsjoe_mfc I see Turnbull's shifted to #8 and Grimshaw's #2 as well.
