  1. Back three back today then. Had a feeling he’d put McLean in today for this one. Attacking wise looks strong, still not at all sure at the back.
  2. I know it’s only the first set, but you would have to hope Kokkinakis’ shot making goes off here otherwise he’s got too much power to hold off for three sets
  3. That’s the bigger framed centre forward ticked off the list then, happy to have that option and should offer a nice alternative to Allan and Cunningham. Where else then for strengthening? Another CB would be nice but don’t see that without someone going out. Maybe another midfielder to cover for the Grant injury and mean that Hynes can actually play RB on his return?
  4. Rennie for Scotland if Townsend buggers off post WC?
  5. Our recruitment team digging up a player that Duffy already knew, what a coincidence
  6. Get this season into a big fire, I don’t normally have strong emotions about groups of players - even the rubbish ones we had in the L2 barren years - but I genuinely detest this team barring a few exceptions
  7. Will Clyde ever defend a lead ever again? Not for me to say, but no
  8. The post, while well intentioned, doesn’t really change anything. The chat is on looking at the past and about decisions made - staying at Broadwood for example. I do not disagree that owning our stadium to operate is the best way to get ourselves out of the problem we are in, but what do we do in the years it will take to complete this project? What happens if they don’t secure the site? My point is that the club is operating a zombie existence at the moment and there may be nothing to take to Crownpoint by the time that move happens (if it ever does, one look at Lesser, a project with far greater finance behind it, should offer a cautionary tale). It isn’t acceptable to simply throw our hands up and say that if we don’t make it through the next few seasons it’s because of decisions made previously. Most of the current board were present for at least some of those decisions and currently, we aren’t even maximising the opportunities - commercially and otherwise - that we were told about at the start of the season from moving to NDP. We’ve also got a current member of the board stating that he disagrees with the decision made by his now colleagues to retain Lennon’s services last season. I admire his honesty and appreciate that all individuals have different opinions, but once again it raises into question the judgment of the chairman and other board members if one of their fellow members says they made a key wrong decision which has now set us back and put us in a perilous position. The truly scary thing is that I know ‘sack the board’ isn’t a solution to the problems and I don’t know what is. It feels almost inevitable where we’re heading now and I just hope we find a way out of it, especially on the field.
  9. On the finance question, we hear so much from the board about how they need fans to come forward to raise money, either via events or donations etc. Why on Earth would anyone seek to make that effort and investment on such a poor product and on a board that have consistently proving they can’t be trusted to make the right call on important matters? To use a poker analogy, all of the chips - and the car and house keys - are in the middle of the table with Crownpoint. The board themselves have admitted this but notwithstanding the obvious risks of having no Plan B, building a stadium doesn’t just make the problems go away. In fact, it makes the need of having an effective team in place to secure investment and a plan for the vision of the club even more pivotal. Does anyone trust the board has such a vision when they have such a poor record so far? It’s laughable when the chairman and board dispute the club is in a complete malaise. The manager doesn’t care, a lot of the players know they aren’t good enough or don’t care and the entire narrative is that we should just suck up the fact that we have a club and not have any ambitions to actually improve it. I don’t think that people in here fearing for the future if Clyde are relegated into L2 this season are exaggerating, there is a distinct stench of an East Stirling style existence here and it’s heartbreaking. My work means I haven’t actually been to a game since the last win - the Kelty game - and I feel more disconnected from the club than I ever been since I started following. Apologies for the long read on a Saturday night, but it’s a slow death and I needed to vent
  10. If you listen to the board, we’re barely even a League Two club.

  12. I think this might be my most hated Clyde team ever. Just no absolutely bottle whatsoever and every week you just wait for the crushing moment.
  13. Not so much both losing as much as both teams having one less game on their schedule at the end, I don’t think that would be too messy but who knows
  14. Clumsy wording from myself. I just meant they - and the Chiefs potentially - are the ones taking the main brunt of the impact on the schedule.
  15. The three options available are play it tonight, reschedule for some later point or call it completely. Playing it tonight still seems the option they will go for - assuming Hamlin is reported to be recovering - but I still don’t think that’s a great move. Playing tomorrow wouldn’t be a bad compromise but you’re still hit with the same issues tonight around players’ headspace etc. Rescheduling for a later point in the season will mess things up too much with weeks off for other teams and too much of a knock on. That’s why a flat cancellation is an option IMO assuming Hamlin‘s condition doesn’t improve. They both give up the game and it has an effect on seedings, but it is likely only those teams - and possibly the Chiefs - would be impacted to any major extent ETA: I feel like a bit of a ghoul for considering these things when the reports are very serious. All thoughts to Hamlin for his recovery.
  16. It’s complicated but none of the solutions are easy. I think making the players go on here given the state they were in is the wrong move.
  17. I think we’re moving into cancellation territory here tbh. The Bills players in particular looked absolutely distraught and I don’t know how you play on and take hits after that. It’s more likely they’ll play on in an hour or so but I wonder if they should just call it and figure it all out during the week. Both teams are in the playoffs anyway and things like seeding don’t seem very important at the moment.
  18. Meryl with arguably the most undeserved £30k win in TV history there
  19. For anyone not already aware, the formal bids for CP have now been published on the Glasgow CC website. It’s ourselves and a bid led by the Finnart Football Academy. We sound as if we’ve consulted quite heavily on the athletics side of things to make sure everything goes smoothly on that side of things. Finnart are based in the east end and have a big youth operation already so it isn’t a foregone conclusion but we’ll see how it goes.
  20. That’s Gatland back in the Wales hot seat after Pivac resigns. Not great, I was hoping to try and milk a few more wins from them before they realised he was useless.
  21. Another routine defeat. Realistically two big games for the season coming up - a chance to hear some cash away to a League Two side and then away at Peterhead to try and at least open up a gap to 10th. We’re gonna lose them both.
  22. Detroit are really flying of late, they were dead and buried a few weeks back but they look a real threat now.
  23. They’ll probably win a GS now
