  1. Big Rob Jones is right there on the PFA available players list…
  2. It does feel like this is a bit of a collapse from the PGAT, something has to have prompted that because AFAICS they were on the upper hand in the litigation against LIV.
  3. You have to feel as if there will be some resentment now from the guys who stayed loyal to the PGAT and DPWT. The LIV guys look as if they were able to cash in big time and will now be allowed to resume their full programme of events having got the bag in the last couple of years.
  4. A complete bombshell, it feels as if that has come out of absolutely nowhere. I wonder if some of the big names - Rory, Rahm etc - were threatening to walk from the PGAT and they had to settle it up. Does this mean an end to the separate tournaments on LIV Golf and the Saudis are just going to invest in the regular golf calendar?
  5. “Maxwell believes the stats prove Scottish football is producing top talent at a young age but says their progress starts to fall off a cliff as they near their twenties. He explained: “Our Under-17s were over in Hungary after qualifying again for the Euros finals and we have done that consistently at that age. At 19s, we get to the elite round but don’t get through to the finals consistently. “At 21s, the performances have deteriorated over a period of time. We’re now a Pot D team and we’re finishing third, fourth or fifth and haven’t been anywhere close to an Under-21s finals in a while.“ Maybe, Ian, there’s another reason for that specific drop off in performances at the U21 level? Maybe, I don’t know, the crap U21 manager that seems bulletproof despite hopeless performances and results? I’m just a fan from a footballing ‘minnow’ driven by self-interest so what do I know?
  6. As an owner who will (presumably) have a vote in this consultation, it’ll be a getting the firmest of X Factor style no’s from me.
  7. I would imagine Rangers B will take the unused tenancy at Broadwood now alongside their women’s team.
  8. That was so well executed IMO - it was Jey (and now Jimmy’s) story all along.
  9. When did the Saudi crowd get hot? Usually it’s pretty silent but it’s pretty good for Sami here
  10. As I said before, I’ll be amazed if we haven’t got a front row seat booked for the exit trials.
  11. Because the new manager is in that list maybe? That’s just my conspiracy theory
  12. I’m just gonna go back 12 months and pretend this season never happened if nobody minds - looking forward to watching Brian McLean and Peter Grant! What a pair of signings for this level! Ross Lyon as skipper for the brave new world? I’m thinking the glorious return of JC Hutchison to go in nets.
  13. Thank heavens for Twitter - otherwise we’d have no idea what was happening with any of our players. Maybe we’ll get lucky and a new manager might randomly put up at TikTok at NDP with some Clyde gear on - or maybe it’s time for me to book my front row ticket for the exit trials…
  14. Garcia made it with a pair of 66s on the weekend. The other three missed the qualifying spots, McDowell was a shot back I think.
  15. I also think the longer it goes on that Duffy will be the manager next season, which is just a thoroughly depressing prospect all round. Once again, no surprises that Clyde and its leadership seem to be sitting at the table twiddling their thumbs days after the playoff final. It’s in line with everything this club does in terms of seemingly just wandering around in a zombie existence and hoping everything goes OK in the end. We are already behind the eight ball to most of our rivals in terms of preparation for next season due to the playoffs and with the rumours of a slashed budget next season, if we are to recruit well, then offers need to be made to players early and business done quickly to avoid getting rushed into bad moves. Instead we still don’t have a list of players leaving, those being offered deals or any confirmation who is our manager. Stephen Swift announced his own departure on Twitter two days ago! This whole malaise filters into everything. You can see it at Crownpoint as well, getting told that it’s OK that Finnart have completed their consultation with the community before we got ours off the ground, that it’s OK they have hundreds of people - even if a decent proportion of them are kids and parents in their system - in attendance at a consultation event and that it’s OK two of the four local ward councillors are there (one of whom happens to fighting for Labour group leader). There’s an assumption that everything will be fine, that our name - whatever that means - will seal the deal when that name means nothing due to years of mismanagement across various boards. And with that, my latest tl;dr rant is complete
  16. Can’t wait for more Irish tears when they bottle it in the RWC
  17. This board having any form of forward planning would be a turn-up for the books given their record so far tbh.
  18. No Salkeld, Lyon or Doherty tonight in the squad. Would rip your hand off for a draw and be in this on Friday.
  19. You wonder if a few more will follow, seems as if it’s fairly rife through the peloton, real shame as it was setting up as a good race.
  20. First game tonight since Kelty at home in September (?) Been away on Saturdays for work and then the various Friday night fixtures since then haven’t exactly made me rush out to Hamilton. We didn’t play that well on Saturday and had a bit of luck with Mullen making good saves etc but hopefully we can dig out another result. The injury list is a bit of a concern, even just Doherty and Sula in the side would make a big difference to what we could have, but I’m not optimistic. Needless to say an early second goal would be smashing for the nerves.
  21. Two Jags games feels like an attempt to keep things fresh because they know London feels like the less cool brother to Germany now. I also hope it’s not an attempt to prove that hosting a team here is achievable because I’m sick to the back teeth of that chat. Chiefs-Dolphins or Jags-Bills are likely the pick of the games there.
