The fact that we can bring players like Callum Smith, Aidan Connolly and Jamie Gullan off the bench when last season we were bringing on William Akio and Connor McBride is a massive, massive testament to John Potter and Ian Murray’s recruitment in the summer. Among the excitement we’ve also got one of our one back on the bench finally. If we do a good January who knows how far we can go!
This is where Raith have an edge over Utd, week after week our bench is full of unproven kids and Jordan Tilson, whereas Murray has the option to change things in search of a goal (which he did very well last night imo).

Na bud we’re just riding the wave right now, don’t think any of our fans seriously believe we can challenge Dundee Utd for the league but we’re enjoying the ride so far this season. Ultimately your strength in depth should be too much for the other 9 teams in this division and I’m sure you’ve got the resources to bring in a player or two come January if you’re not clear of us. Looking forward to our away day to Tannadice not been before and hopefully we’ll bring a good support up.
On current form Raith fans absolutely should be believing that they can challenge for the league, as we approach Xmas you have only lost once and sit 1 point off the top.
Our squad depth is nowhere near as good as some opposing fans think, last week with Watt missing and Moult having a stinker our only option on the bench was a 16 year old academy prospect, our starting 11 is strong for this league but we are only a couple of injuries away from being in big trouble and we really need to strengthen during the transfer window.5 -

We already have a cover champ.
Might it not have been an idea to try using it?

Hopefully yesterdays result will reinforce the fact that we can’t go an entire season with just 2 strikers, Watt missing through injury and Moult a bit off form but absolutely zero options to change things

I don't think we can afford 3 new players. We're skint.
We'll be a lot more than skint if we dont get promoted, hopefully Ogren will look at the disaster of the last xmas window and see that the gamble of not improving things was a massive mistake.

Cover for Docherty as well.
With a new right back in I would be hoping Grimshaw could cover for Docherty.
Thats a few games Docherty has missed this season and it has to be said we are a far poorer team when hes not playing.

What’s people’s thoughts on the upcoming transfer window? For me striker, right back and cover for Gallagher in, Tilson and Denholm back to their parent clubs.
If there’s enough in the budget, in additional to the above I wouldn’t mind seeing another wide player brought in.0 -

Was surprised (and relieved) to see Sibbald playing nearly the whole game just in front of the defence last night - does Goodwin always play him so deep? Sibbs was always a danger at the edge of the box with us, either a killer pass or a killer goal...
Docherty normally plays that role with Sibbald more of a box to box role, Docherty is out injured and his back up Tilson is not very good hence why Goodwin tried Sibbald there last night

Hopefully this ends the experiment of playing Graham on the right side at centre half, looked so uncomfortable any time the ball went near him, if Denholm is that bad get him back to Cardiff and get proper cover for Gallagher in there.

After his Birighitti performance first half why the f**k have we not hit a single shot at the keeper second half. An absolutely embarrassing performance in a competition I don’t give a toss about (neither does the players it seems) but full credit to Falkirk for their performance.

Mon now lads, this is starting to get a bit annoying. Checked the score with 2 minutes to go and you’re down to 10 and getting beat, I’m sitting debating which amusing gifs to post on here and you go and ruin everything. Has to be said it’s some effort fae you lot and certainly keeping it interesting.

Thought that was probably our poorest league performance this season, so delighted with the three points. Docherty was a big miss, thought Mochrie did well after coming on.

Was it Cudjoe who scored the late goal at Tannadice? He was a massive threat all game, best player I've seen so far this season.
Hopefully he plays shit.
Got sent off earlier in the season and has since lost his place to Fotheringham who has played well

We would do very well to splurge the cash we can't really afford on Walton. I mean he's not at the level for English Prem and I don't think Luton would be quick to play him in the championship either.
Cheeky 500k offer with a lumpy sell on? I dunno doubtful we could sign him permanently but he seems to be very settled here and is reliable and decent.
Luton signed 2 keepers in the summer so I don’t think Walton has much of a future there, not sure how long he is under contract but if we get up and his wage demands are within our budget then we should definitely be making an effort to keep him. Was your cheeky offer meant to be 50k? There’s f**k all cheeky about 500k, which would be an unrealistic bid imo

Very different performance from Friday and when the 2nd goes in Glass drops deeper making it more of a 4-5-1 with Utd happy to let Airdrie have the ball. Last seasons keeper and defence don’t keep a clean sheet in this one.

Dear Raith, can you please piss off, we are trying to romp this league and you fuckers are determined to make it a 2 horse race, thanks

Glass in for Moult, obviously concerned with plastic pitch given his injury history

The middle man pretty irrelevant in this case I guess. Kinda doubt Fox had long since had his eyes on a goalkeeper playing in Australia.
A manager with more backbone than Fox could have demanded that we bring in a keeper at the xmas transfer window, Fox was there to put out the cones and listen to fat Tony.

Any chance of this game being postponed due to the weather? Hopefully not a problem as would much prefer a saturday game to a midweek trip

Pretty obvious what our tactics need to be for this game, do everything possible to ensure as little stoppage time as possible.
