  1. Good point the questioner should have been more specific. This is in danger of no longer being "quick"
  2.   I make it about £17,600 (£1,114,000m between 63.2m people)If you include the liablilities of the state owned and partially state owned banks then that doubles. http://www.economicshelp.org/blog/334/uk-economy/uk-national-debt/
  3. Try Interval Training. Different methods are possible but basically you cycle between working at a high intensity and recovering at low intensity. You'll be working too hard during the high intensity interval to get bored and the low intensity intervals will seem shorter and shorter as your recovery takes longer. It should be better than simply slogging away at medium pace for ages
  4. Anita Bean, The Complete Guide to Sports Nutrition, ISBN: 1408105381 As for me Physiotherapy has progressed to the point where I can actually do something genuinely cardiovascular again. I did 1 km freestyle in 20 minutes yesterday. A few years back I did 5 km at that pace but the fact that my shoulder isn't in agony today means this feels like a win
  5. Remember that phase they went to or responding to "5-1" gestures with a "1-0" gesture. This is almost as funny
  6. Club games certainly have. I don't know about internationals
  7. Go into a guitar shop and ask to try one of each. Or is that too obvious?EDIT: Apparently Paul McCartney (5'10") played a short scale bass in the Beatles and that didn't hold them back.
  8. Although Gary Mackay did become a national hero in Ireland.
  9. £7 at Glasgow Central, which I think is where you'll be travelling to Killie from
  10. That is brilliant news. It means that this was a false alarm Heart of Midlothian Champions 1895, 1897, 1958, 1960, 1965 & 1986
  11. Where's the best place to park for a gig at the Barrowlands?
  12. "Blues" was in use to mean Melancholy long before it was a genre of music. As me and some mates were trudging out of the away end I heard I heard the song go up from some wags behind us "Three Years, It only took three years, It only took three years" we looked at each other smiled and went to the pub where I managed to resist the temptation to put SRV on the jukebox.
  13. It's a contraction of the chemical name "para-acetyl aminophenol" "Acetylene" is ultimately derived from "acetic" which comes from the Latin acetum (Vinegar) So the former is correct.
  14. I've now sampled Oktoberfest special editions from all the big Munich Breweries And the winner is Lowenbräu Honourable runner up Hofbräu Don't bother with the Erdinger one
  15. You'd think that the city of William Topaz McGonnagal and the Beano could come up with a more poetic name than "The Dark Blues"
  16. Which doesn't really make sense because it would presumably be the *insert rival team here* supporters that would have the blues as opposed to the *insert team here* fans
  17. IT's appears to me that ICBM may actually be part of a global Zionist conspiracy designed to discredit any rational opponents of Israel by depicting such opposition as the preserve of lunatic wierdos.
  18. I make it 9 7 in last years cup run Auchinleck(H), Saint Johnstone(H), Saint Johnstone(A), Saint Mirren(H), Saint Mirren(A), Celtic(N), Hibs(N) 2 in the league cup Livingston(H), Dundee United(A) The best I can find is a run of 12 cup fixtures, spanning 9 ties between 1905 and 1907 Hearts won the cup in 1906 beating Nithsdale Wanderers, Beith, Celtic, Port Glasgow Athletic and Hibs, all at the first time of asking The Following year Hearts were runners to Celtic up having required replays to dispose of Airdrieonians, Kilmarnock & Raith in the first three ties Queens Park were beaten in the Semi Final with no need for a replay.
  19. Oxford History of Ireland. R.F. Foster Pretty Dull and with lots of rival chieftans knocking lumps out of each other over obscure villages so far. Hopefully it'll pick up once we get past the middle ages.
  20. Vicars of Christ: The Dark Side of the Papacy by Peter De Rosa It's a cracking tale of Power, Sex, Death, Greed and Lies
