  1. Wondering whether Carluke, Lanark and Lesmahagow are thinking of joining the West Lothian rump. Not much of a distance to travel. Would be a bit of a shame if they don't join the WOSL but I suppose they have an alternative option.

EDIT: Thorniewood and St Roch's are hardly a huge distance from say Whitburn either.

  2. Good grief man, we've been hit, we've been hit!

My monthly valuation made for pretty grim reading this morning. March had a fall in value big enough to take the fund back down to its October 2018 valuation, 17-months of savings wiped out.

Good time to buy, and a good time to cry.

  3. What's the line up for the next four episodes of this? There's six according to iPlayer but I can't see which games are coming.

They'll show a Rangers win and a Celtic win to uphold some sort of feudal law. I'll just dodge those.

Unless they bottle it, they'll surely show Hibs.

    Leaves one slot to fill.

I'd love to see Aberdeen smashing Rangers 4-1 in 1982. Alex Miller kicking himself and falling over, McLeish curling one in from King's Park Station platform, Neale Cooper tapping one into an empty goal ever so gently. I was only three at the time but I seek to remember it clearly!!

  4. Islay distilleries are all closed. That puts the final nail in the coffin of my Easter holiday. Hopefully the guy who runs my holiday cottage will consider a deferral. A very small problem in the grand scale of things, but tough to take nonetheless.

  5. I think a Groundhop in the shiny new WOSL would be a terrific idea.

I'd suggest a Saturday line-up with trips to Muirkirk, Lugar, Glenafton and a finale of Cumnock v Talbot at the beautiful floodlit arena of Townhead Park.

Ticks a lot of boxes for the visitors, including the morning game reasonably close to their normal digs in EK. Their bus could even detour to the Bill Shankly memorial at Glenbuck.

  6. I love King Creosote only managed to see him live once in Groningen and that was years ago, 2006 i think.
My mate has been his sound tech on this recent tour.
If he was working last night, he did a grand job!
  7. King Creosote tonight. And thanks to coronavirus, that might well be it, darling.

If this is my last gig for a while it's not a bad way to end.

He's a musical hero of mine, generally so but particularly attending a good few of his 50 shows for his 50th in the East Neuk Hotel at the end of 2017 dug me out of a pretty bleak hole following the end of a relationship. Genuinely it gave me a wee community to hold onto and something to look forward to.

Feeling pretty bleak tonight for other personal reasons, so I'm hoping he pulls me through again!

    No pressure Kenners.

Ps. Hoping that (a) I get a ticket for Mogwai in Strathpeffer tomorrow and (b) it goes ahead in April. The venue is conveniently just shy of 500.

  8. I'm not basing it purely on Brechin, just giving one example.
Highland and Lowland are regionalised, part time teams.
Is there a massive difference between Formartine and Queen's Park (random examples) ?
See no reason why League 1 and 2 shouldn't be regional.
One of them easily knocked a rancid Queen of the South XI out of the Scottish Cup this seaaon, and the other could have done so, but didn't get a chance to?
  9. do leith athletic and Edinburgh uni play on the same pitch or is it same facility, different pitches?
Adjacent pitches. Edinburgh University play on the grass stadium pitch at the bottom of this photo, Leith play at the fake plastic pitch further up the complex, just adjacent to the hockey pitches.

The Uni ground has became one of my favourite grounds to visit. Where else can you watch a game beside a biscuit factory, a train line and a volcano? Lovely home baking too!Screenshot_20200308_141153_com.google.android.apps.maps.jpeg
  10. New season begins today.

Camanachd Cup Final looks like a superb day out this year. We're already booked into hotel for the weekend, this will sort out the Saturday night.
