  1. Imagine feeling optimistic after signing a proven goalscorer who had a good relationship with the fans in a previous spell with the club. Shame on us
  2. It's been like this since 2012. They pick and choose when they're the same club to fit whatever argument they need it for.
  3. He'd get my vote. When I've exhausted all my podcasts, I sometimes fire on Clyde 1 on the way home from work for a laugh at all the delusional, slavering OF fans. He's as bad as some of the callers.
  4. You forgot about our master penalty-winner, Hippolyte. Good post otherwise.
  5. He's got 37 goals and 17 assists in 91 games in the Championship, so he's clearly proven at this level. It may be that McCann believes he can attract better for Dundee in the Premiership, so is happy to let him leave and use his wage on someone else. You'd need to ask Dee fans how he's actually performed for them, but it seems like he's been tarred with the same brush as Keatings i.e. capable at this level, but not trusted to make the step up.
  6. With McKay on the verge of joining Forest for around £500K, I thought it thought it'd be fun to re-post this. £6m FFS http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/rangers-star-barrie-mckay-6m-9656224
  7. Gate receipts (and by de facto season tickets) are a fairly significant proportion of any teams budget in this league due to the lack of prize and TV money.
  8. Anyone that would be happy with McHattie can get in the sea.
  9. Just the 5 goals and 4 assists in 13 games for St Mirren. Finished at this level IMO.
  10. Hearing chat that Devlin is signing today. Can anyone confirm?
  11. I've been an advocate of that formation for awhile now, but Houston's preferred formation is a straight 4-4-2 (unless it's a defensive 4-5-1 away to Hibs, Dundee Utd etc). There's certainly a decent amount of goals in that set-up based on last season's tallies (Sibbald 10, Hippo 7, Austin 6) and you'd hope Sibbald could bag a few more in his most effective position and Austin significantly more playing a full season. Would still like another striker though.
  12. So you're saying that, given the chance, we shouldn't re-sign our top scorer from last season? If it means we're in a strong position to challenge for the league, we should be sacrificing the compensation and keeping him IMO.
  13. If I get some time over the weekend, I'll be knocking up an email to them. I think us fans need to put as much pressure on them as possible.
  14. 1) Taylor scored 24 goals (6 against top 4) and Faird got 18 (5), so neither of them when particularly prolific against the better sides. 2) There's nothing inherently wrong with a striker who scores most of his goals against poorer sides. Those matches are worth 3 points just like the rest. FWIW, I wouldn't go as far to say he was a stand-out, but he's shown enough to suggest he can score 15+ goals if he's fit and starting for a full season.
  15. He was directly involved in a goal every 108 minutes and only Cummings had a better minutes to goals ratio in the league than him. The fact he only made 7 league starts was due to injury in the first half of the season then Houston's reluctance to play him when he properly broke into the team (Dundee Utd 3-0 at home). Think it's also a bit unfair to criticise his record against the top 4 as he only played the full 90 once once against them and was largely used as a late sub.
  16. Aye, I'm not over the moon with it myself, but with Houston's penchant for lazy signings it could have been worse IMO.
  17. Last season looks like a bit of a write-off, but his stats for 15/16 make ok reading; 4 goals and 10 assists from 1,862 minutes is a decent output for a winger. Not a glamour signing by any means, but it's a position we're short in. Can't be any worse than that ugly wee bigot.
  18. Nathan Austin baby looking resplendent at the races today. What a guy.
  19. They haven't sent one to my girlfriend's email (my 2nd account), so they're still in the bad books for me too.
  20. Lost count of the number of times last season we'd be sitting in BTW at 2:30 on a Saturday looking at an uninspiring teamsheet and wondering if it'd be more fun staying there and getting MWI.
  21. Bit of an olive branch from Bet365 today. They've emailed me an offer code for a £100 deposit bonus. Can't find the exact rollover requirements, but I'd imagine it's the standard 3 times.
  22. What a force we'll be with Muirhead and Stanton as our fullbacks. Should just give us the trophy now tbh.
