  1. Benched by 8th placed Annan before the shutdown and didn't feature at all for them after it. Great addition! (positive enough?)
  2. I, for one, did not foresee the heart and soul almost immediately draining from Queen's Park Football Club after it turned professional and started being financially doped.
  3. Not to worry, we can file him alongside the other dozen [could go badly] candidates.
  4. Last play-off berth for me, on the face of it. On another note, let's all get used to hearing this again:
  5. Takes us up to 17 signed now. Let's hope they all come good... Edit: that figure includes mystery man 'Aidan Cassidy', who may well be our secret weapon in our tooth-and-nail battle against the drop.
  6. Jonathan Page now. By Christ, we are fucking doomed.
  7. Oh joy of joys, there's another. Will start refreshing Twitter while peeking through my fingers now I think
  8. Virtually every time I saw him play, he did a decent job of getting you up the park despite his clear technical limitations. I can understand why he'd be a figure of derision but if used properly and with better players around them, players of his ilk can have some value. Dumbarton weren't exactly blessed with half decent forward players who could feed off him last season, which will have magnified his shortcomings too.
  9. I miss the days when we were signing jobbers under Jim Duffy and there was no fanfare, only a single news article on the website announcing the signings of about six players with a single line on each of them. FWIW I thought Jones was panned a bit harshly by Dumbarton fans last season, but I really don't see the point in this signing. He will offer us a plan B, but we should be putting every penny into trying to recruit whatever quality we can muster at the moment.
  10. My abiding memory of Billy Mortimer in QP fans' estimations is that he was initially a striker, often shunted out to the wing and occasionally filling in at right back, whose main attributes were pace, work ethic and having progressed through the QP youth system. If I'm not mistaken, he split opinion quite a lot during his time there. Good luck to him as always and I hope he is a roaring success with Clyde, but if we are scraping around the Lowland League for this kind of player already then it's going to be a very long old season.
  11. Cannot believe that has elicited some responses. Possibly the most obvious alias I've ever seen on this godforsaken website
  12. Two years ago that'd be a great signing, now not so much. I'm pretty sure Edinburgh had started using him sparingly at the end of the season, whether that was fitness related or not I'm unsure. ETA: Big Bad Conrad does having a passing resemblance to Pat Scullion, though, so he will be afforded greater patience than most in these quarters [emoji8]
  13. Easton is the dictionary definition of a mercenary, but he's worth the wage in entertainment value alone. A wonderful player when he's on it.
  14. Just the five signings for Dumbarton today, including one (so far) that would waltz into our team. It'll take a remarkable effort for us to end up with anything other than another squad of kids/jobbers from here.
  15. Think that might be the best part time club side in history. Let's just pray they don't all stay fit!
  16. You'd think so Peter, but I think the side with the best manager will end up winning the day and both yourself's and QP's are something of an unknown quantity. I think some players will be concerned about the QP bubble bursting soon, too, before accepting the big bucks.
  17. Fair play to the fridge magnate, his cheque book and young Liam himself. 40k fee, 10k signing-on bonus and £800 per week basic. Not the best negotiating from QP given Falkirk's offer was £550, but a very good signing nonetheless.
  18. Left footer who tends to play on the right it seems, so might be the case that Danny is looking to persist with playing Cunningham from the left side. Hope this lad isn't a ringer, while he's been at some alright clubs it seems he's just followed his old man around.
  19. Ourselves and Dumbarton are shopping in a pretty similar market, you'd say, and they look to be doing better business at the moment (despite having a manager who's been in the door five minutes). A lot of work to be done if we're to end up with a squad capable of troubling mid-table.
  20. You're completely mistaken if you think I spend any waking moment without such fear. I'm unspeakably excited for both Clyde's and Dumbarton's guff new charges' tussle against the drop again next season, right enough.
  21. If James Duffy was signing this rag-tag bunch of jobbers and over-the-hillers, there'd be a mutiny in here
  22. Very decent signing that one, hopefully the drop down to PT and a year of sitting on the bench hasn't caused him to regress too far.
