  1. Last time I seen confidence like that it was Jordo talking about Morton before the 3-0 defeat at Crappilow..
  2. Still a very capable player. Should do well at that level! Pace is the only thing in question, but it should be less of an issue at a lower level. Wish him well wherever he signs!ETA: I know that pace has always been Andy's problem throughout his career.
  3. That is fair, but we are in a slightly different situation with our part time status. I understand we have managed to snap up a couple of players who have dropped to the PT wages /training that come with us. But they are all older, injury prone or looking into coaching.
  4. Any 'proven goalscorer's' will already have a club at this stage in the transfer window.
  5. You would have thought so, but Oor Creepy was described as a striker and plays out on the right wing most of the time. Obviously we knew he wasn't an out and out striker from seeing him at Alloa but still, a striker?
  6. Is he bound to be better than Smith? Most likely. Is he what we needed? Only time will tell. I have my doubts and would much rather have brought in someone up and coming on loan than someone who has been released from a team and not found another by this point in the transfer window.
  7. I know Dylan Easton didn't do too great last season, but he would do much better in our current team I reckon. I'd be looking to bring in a young striker and another winger.
  8. What chances are you thinking of? I didn't see our 'keeper make a save all day.
  9. Mentioned that he had been replaced on 45 mins on Saturday when I was checking the half time scores. Had to be either an injury or an awful performance. Didn't really think it would ever have been the latter.
  10. It's pretty well known that our home top is a custom made kit and that our away kit is always going to be an off the shelf kit due to the extra costs in creating a custom shirt. Thus, narrowing the choices a lot for the away kit.
  11. I'm actually quite happy to see this result although not surprised one little bit. It might save some of the more excitable fans from getting carried away. At the same time it is a pre season friendly and nothing seriously can be taken by this can it?? Folk actually getting bothered by losing a friendly to a decent side in the league below... silly really. We still need to strengthen our squad a little and I am sure the management team know this already. Let's not get carried away either way though.
  12. On the subject of the new sponsorship deal, surely it is much better to have the support of a business which is local, has the club's interests at heart, has been built by a local guy and one which seems far more stable than some dodgy online betting company? Who cares about the name? I sure as hell don't and if the club are in a good position and this local business is going to benefit from the deal, then excellent!
  13. Is there likely to be highlights from anywhere? I'm sure I seen HeartsTV ones from their game vs Raith this week. Was Sonstv present?
  14. Wouldn't mind having any of the trialists from the weekend sign up. As long as it was on the right conditions ie not paying over the top for Pedro or Routledge. Young Mark Thomson seemed decent enough but obviously can't judge too much on one game. Seems he is a player who can play more than 1 position giving that he is listed as a striker and then played RB on Saturday. Looked comfortable anyway.
  15. It's basically a game in our own stadium anyway? Colour scheme and all. Hopefully we'll be too strong for them.
  16. Elgin or Berwick away? E.T.A. I always enjoyed away days to Peterhead! Nice set up. Kick about before the game. Pint in the stand (at half time as well!!) Nice we run up too.
  17. Things you look for in a cup draw: Good away day. Wee bit of a journey. Game vs team in leagues below. Ticks all the boxes eh?
  18. Been saying this for a good while now. Garry is far from being a striker. He flourishes in the central midfield role. He offers so much more when played in there.
  19. Interesting. Had the discussion on Thursday night with another sons fan and was saying I wonder if the manager will change where we train. Good move I reckon!
  20. Nah, always fancied himself as a big shot. Never quite good enough. When he was with us everyone ranted and raved about how good a 'keeper he was but I wasn't all that impressed considering the 'reputation' he came with. He is a decent player but this level might be a step too far at this time.
  21. Possibly. Some people just don't have much perspective on certain things.
