Says he had a couple of offers including a full-time one in the interview on the os. Alloa say not to play him at LB, but we already have a couple of players who will fit into the CM holding role. Would be interesting to see where he played when he was at Stranraer.

Completely agree it was unimportant as long as we picked up points from those around us. Would be nice to cut down on the goals against in general! The top team comment was more just a reply to optimistic than me saying I want points or anything from them. Anything against any of the top/big 3 sides was always a bonus last season.

Yeah, it isn't looking too bad just now. The balance is quite important. As much as I don't want too many Nish or Mair type players. I reckon we could do with an experienced head or two around the club still. Obviously loanees won't happen until August probably, so can't depend on them too much. Against the top sides last year we were absolutely awful! 3/4 of our total goals against must have been vs QoS, Rangers, Hib and Hearts? Without looking that is just a rough guess.

Did St Mirren confirm that they were signing Findlay? Celtic may prefer him to go to a part time side and continue to develop under their own training regime.

As much as I like Garry, if he went I wouldn't be that gutted. Just never felt that Murray rated Fleming. He would hardly have played if we had other options. He certainly won't sign as a striker for anyone. Aggy is miles ahead of Garry and I don't think he is good enough. For our players I'd rather we signed Kirkpatrick and Taggart before Garry. Oh, and no I'm not saying I don't want Garry to sign for us. I like him and have praised him often enough on here.

I knew you were losing Loy. Didn't know about Macdonald. It just shows that we have a couple of very overly worried fans who are hitting the panic button far too early though. I'm sure there is a couple at every team to be honest.

The thing we have to remember is, most of the teams in our league will be changing a lot this summer. Alloa haven't got much of a squad together at all and have a new manager coming in to do his thing. Yeah I know Danny Lennox isn't brand new but it is his first pre season and chance to put his own squad together. Livingston, as far as I'm aware, aren't in the greatest condition. Releasing a few players and you are never sure quite how financially stable they are. Raith to a slightly lesser extent have quite a big rebuilding job and a brand new manager also. Rangers will definitely be rebuilding regardless of who is appointed as their manager etc. The financial situation with them is another one not many know too much about. St Mirren will have a job to do with Murray only a week or two in the job. They will feel if they keep the remainder of their squad they will have a chance but have a lot of deadwood to shift. Not too sure about Morton but I would imagine they feel they need to add to what they have. But may have most of what they had last season. That leaves Queens, Falkirk and Hibs for me who will be fairly happy to retain most of last seasons squad and bulk it up a bit.

Don't think either has ever been a 'far better keeper' than the other to be honest.

What seems weird is that Aitken said last week somewhere that he knew we needed a new goalkeeper with Rogers heading back to Aberdeen. So to just make a complete U turn and stick with what we had is unusual. If true I don't like that he is signing someone on the basis that he is a mate and not that he is a good enough 'keeper. I think pretty much everyone would agree that we need a better number 1 than either Ewings or Shay.

Didn't think he was at all actually. He just said that it was a shame things hadn't worked out better at sons. Think it was a tweet he sent out. If I missed something then fair enough, but I didn't think he done anything disrespectful.E.T.A. Findlay is without a doubt, the most promising young player I have ever seen in a sons shirt. Was the best player in our squad at the end of last season. Will be gutting lining up against him, but he is progressing and if things pan out right for him he could go right to the top!

How's Kieran MacDonald getting on at Hamilton? I know he didn't really enjoy his first stint but I thought he could have been useful and we need a LB.

Where did Spence head to again? I think to be honest most of the teams outside of St Mirren and Hibs will have a lot of business to do this pre season. Queens and Falkirk may keep the core of their squads but every other teams it seems will have a new look team after the summer.

Pretty much every game for the 2nd half of last season he started up front? Unfortunately Garry is pretty hopeless as a striker. Much better deployed in midfield. Some will disagree but he doesn't really cut it as a striker for me.I really like him as a players before anyone claims I am being harsh etc.

Exactly this! I never felt that IM rated Fleming that highly. He is a player who always gives 100% of course and on his day is unplayable, but I never felt Murray rated him that highly. Just can't see him wanting to take him to St Mirren. Same with Aggy to be honest; I rate him as one of our most important players and don't doubt for a minute if he was offered a deal he would take it. I just don't see him being of a high enough standard for what they are looking to achieve this season. He was my poty last year too.

I know nothing of Miller - other than what has been said on here. But delighted to have signed Cawley. Not only are we signing a good player, but I think we have taken one of Alloa's best players from them. Always felt he was the man to watch out for whenever we played against them.
