You lot will be right upset that Marc McCusker is leaving - who'll get all the goals next season?
Ah, that's more like it, I was begining to think it was too quiet down here.
It is a bit of shame as I think an injury free McCusker would score a few goals, but that's life. I will be intersted to see who will come in as by my reckoning we probably need another two strikers.

I'd hope Magic has finished re-signing players from last year's squad. Of course, I'd like Craig Reid to sign again but he'll surely get a club in the first division. We now need to sign a striker, central midfielder, a full back and a winger. Not too much to ask for, is it?!
He does say that he will be looking to bring in some fresh faces too.
I take it that Parkin has gone?

No, I want this thread transferred as it is.
It can serve as a reminder to us of an era when we whined and whinged about a higher class of football.
We, the fans will move downstairs with the club so our pointless bickering, nostalgic wheezing and irrelevant pontificating should accompany us. We're not a Newco FFS.
I want the baggage - who's with me?
I bugger off on holiday and folk are wanting to close the thread! I'm with Monkey Tennis on this one. The 'big thread' must remain open!

...white and black is a bit random though.
Not really, we had a few of these in the late 70's and early 80's.

Home top is ok, away top is rank. White and blue might've made it acceptable but the black just makes it look like an Ayr top. Also all blue home kit, is that a first?
No, we have had all blue before. The last time I think was the year D&G Constabulary won it in 98. I'm not a fan of all blue. The away kit is okay and we had a couple black and white away kits in the 80's.

I will mark it on my calendar.
I will be expecting a birthday card as well.

Spelling dosen't matter as long as i get my point across.
Albeit an irrelevant point as GTF day is 27 May.

Celtic aren't their natural enemies however. Celtic & Rangers are 2 sides of the same coin.
The diddies are and always have been the real enemies of both halves of the Old Firm.
Going by VT's reasoning Morton must also be on that OF coin.

Even though he called Qos 75 a c**t, which was quite uncalled for...
I think it was meant in a jocular manner JLP. Mind you, as I'm sure you know, it has been levelled against me before.

Erm pretty much everything.
He just lacked that bit phyiscally for the step up, and he wasn't good enough technically to make up for it if you get what I mean?
Size isn't necessarily an issue if you can read the game well, or if you can play that killer pass, or take it past a couple of players... Burns just wasn't able to do that.
Holding your own in a one off cup game and holding your own for a season is an entirely different prospect I'm sure you'll agree, it's why it's not really relevant to try compare teams based on how they done in the Scottish cup, when you played against Aberdeen a couple of seasons back every single one of your players held there own and excelled, but there is no way in this earth that John Stewart is an SPL striker.
I'll give you that, but a legend nevertheless.
I suppose what I was meaning before was that if he was surrounded by SPL standard players he would have developed into one himself.

Beleive me, he wouldn't.
There are some players in our team who I might consider to be Spl class, Graham if he sorted his attude, Cardle, Gallagher, McMillan and a fully fit Bell could all be Spl players, Burns just isn't.
It's the reason as to why we were just so bad this year, we signed 1st division quality players.
What do you think he lacked, as anytime he was up against SPL teams with us he had more than held his own?

Its no wonder about 90% of Dunfermline players hate playing for the club with fans like the above. Twat.
If he went to a better team, I'm sure he would have done well. However, given the circusmstances at the end of last season I'm sure he just wanted his future settled as quickly as possible.

Please lord let this be true, I really, really, really want this to be true
If you want to drive him down to Dumfries, I will go halfers on the petrol and the snacks .

I kind of like this thread now. Reading through it and watching Ayr and Queens fans mocking us takes away the disappointment of a bad season for us. Cheerio to them.
Think of of it as a short break at the seaside. We will be back.

His agent said that Bollan didn't have a budget but won promotion twice. Livi were full time in both divisions and romped them both as a result! Not exactly what I would call a surprise those two promotions.

They're coming back but with a reduced offer.
Very cunning. Offer one is rejected so they come back with a reduced offer!

Well if Gus departs then Jimmy Calderwood or Alan Johnston would be worth a shout.

Very true, but thanks all the same.

Only a week of the season left and the good news is that most of the team and management will also be out of contract.
The player situation is pleasing but the board need to decide (hopefully before the end of May) if Gus is the man to lead us forward
He has been poor in the first, will he be any better in the second?

Parkin is away, so no chance of that and the team we had five seasons ago was far superior to the team we have now, which is why there was no danger of relegation. However, I agree that we should have a good chance of promotion.
