  1. Another dull top IMO. If I buy any of them I'll go for the away one.

On the shirt front (I'll try and word this as more of a query than a criticism) why is the kid's top so expensive? I think £34 is quite steep. Especially if you can get an Old Firm one cheaper. I mean, if a parent isn't interested in QoS and their bairn is after a football shirt the chances are they will just buy one of the B.B. tops before a QoS one, especially if they know it is cheaper. I imagine the makers have a big say but surely the club have some room for manoeuvre on pricing?

Another 'query' on the shirt front. Can last season's not be reduced further than £20? I got the home and away Middlesbrough top (one long sleeved as well) for £20 altogether. I'd imagine the club has to get as much back as possible but surely making £10 on an old top is better than making nothing?

I am the proud owner of the Bukta 77-79 top from the Trust. A cracking, long-sleeved number that is much better looking than the current top. :D

How long have we left of the Joma deal? The kit last year was okay but I'm not a fan of the current ones.

  2. Were you on hallucinogenic drugs when you put that bet on?

You do realise we are managed by Steven Pressley dont you?

You might as well have put your money in a big pile and set fire to it.

What was your reasoning in picking us?

    Seriously? :o

I wouldn't have touched Falkirk. Generally I expect HB to be correct in that they'll be nowhere near promotion but most likely not near relegation either ultimately but if they don't pick up some players and / or some investment soon they are seriously screwed. They haven't a goalkeeper who can legally drink (well they might have barely) nor a forward at the club. Although there are some decent players trialing with them (McGovern, McManus) they appear to be in worse nick than us at the moment.

I only have a quid on it (I have chosen the league winners in Scotland & England),and I don't really expect to win anyway but several thousand pound would be nice.

Seriously though, I just have a feeling Falkirk will have a decent season.

  3. Turning to to our summer signings. I'm fairly pleased how things are shaping up so far and alough we have yet to see the team in action, I'm really quite optimistic about the comming season. Obviously time will tell but I think we will be a decent side next season.

Although things off field are not perfect, it looks a lot better than it was four weeks ago. So come on, let's all look forward with a bit of optimism rather dwell too much on the past.

  4. With the calibre of player that is being talked about on here, we will most certainly be on par with the Stirling team of last season. :(

That is just ridiculous, albeit some of those mentioned are not floating my boat. However, one man's meat is another's poison and you never know, in the right circumstances they may flourish. However, I can see nothing to suggest we will be relegation candidates.

  5. He played two games as a Trialist. These two:

    Queens 1 - 2 St Mirren

    Inverness 4 - 1 Queens

According to tthe reports he didn't lose a goal direct from a corner in either. However, in the first he lost a goal direct from a free kick out wide that was probably intended as a cross. In the second he missed a corner completely and allowed McCaffrey to nod over the line standing behind him. You're close enough!

    Just a pity Robertson wasn't.

  6. I suppose judgement should properly be reserved though.

Yeah, I would agree with that. It is probably a bit unfair to judge the guy before he has had a chance to do anything. I'm sure he must have something to offer the club otherwise he wouldn't have taken the role. I don't suppose he is there to pump money into the club, but if he can help it move forward then I'am all for that

  7. Kinda quiet around here these days without Skyline Drifter

Agree with statments above. Robertson brings a ruthless business mind to the board ( He closed a factory with loss of 121 jobs without blinking an eyelid )

Hewitson has pulled of a masterstroke getting him onside. I pity ANY passengers on the BOD now

    Sounds like a great guy.

  8. Hewitson is a good guy. I like him and i expect Davie Weatherston to re-sign soon. Hewitson should take control and restructure the lot. I have heard that Kilmarnock fancy Reidy so i wouldnt be surprised if he was in talks with them now. I think McGuffie will join the ranks of Falkirk. Watch that space. Grant Holt might not be a bad shout for Birmingham City!;) (Sorry non QOS)

Scally should have gotten the job like i said before as he is best man with the younger players and thats where our backbone will be imo. Scally should be working with Gus so that when Gus gets the sack by text message or letter then Scall can grab the reigns. Tough bar raised by Kenny Brannigan though as he really did awesome with what he had and i dont think that can be disputed! King Kenny!

I thought you said the Pars last night?

  9. Gus and Andy Millen are terrible appointments IMO. Read between the lines and he took the job because he needed a job. He has and is keeping his Radio commitments going! Fact. Whats that saying a half hearted approach? Anyways i would rather have seen us going for a manager who wants to be at QOS rather than one who just wanted a job. Gus applied for every vacant job of recent weeks. Id have kept Brannigan to be honest. Knew the club inside out and could have got over his spat with Ray. Just saying how i see it lads.

That's fair enough, although I hope it will be a mutually benefical appointment.

  10. Gus's and Andy's record with Saints was quite remarkable considering the early budget constrains.

We were languishing in the relegation zone of the first division when he took over. Come the end of that season we finished second or third can't quite remember but it was not far off the title.

Next season Gus won the first division and the diddie cup.

Personally I felt Gus's football was over cautious in the SPL which was fine the first season but when it went on and on fans got disgruntled with the style rightly or wrongly. Bottom line is he kept Saints in the SPL on a shoe string.

Cup games were different. Gus and Andy showed we were a good team going forward.

I was one of the fans who wanted a change from Gus and Andy. 7 years is a long time in football

Gus is a straight talker he tells it as it is.

Andy is a keep fit fantastic as such you will have one of the fittest teams in the division.

Both Andy and Gus don't drink.

You have appointed a couple of gem stones I will be watching out for QOS with interest

I would be happy with half of that. I'm relatively optimistic for next season and think we will do well.

Following the events at the end of last season and the uncertainty that it caused, I think a lot of people had us down as relegation candidates next season and to be honest I thought that might be the case too. Although it is still early days and we have not yet put a team together I'm am confident the management team will assemble a strong team.
