  1. I know the feeling - however a history of shenanigans with incompetent owners also had its cost. As I recall our first season in the (then) SPL we sold over 3000 season tickets. Not any more unfortunately.
  2. Capacity isn't an issue but queuing at the ticket window will be. I've heard of other teams having to queue almost half an hour to get a ticket. Just so that you're aware.
  3. Of course there's also good evidence that newspaper speak can easily unsettle a player so that they go off form until things quieten down. And lets remind ourselves it is "The Sun" I'm talking about.
  4. Just what I didn't want to see on deadline day: I'd like to tell them to GTF but the reality is, with our average home gate, we are a selling club at this level and wouldn't be able to reject a decent offer even though it would potentially mean sacrificing out top six aspirations and the increased finances that would bring. Pretty much, for any other position, we have a potential replacement but no one near Dykes' quality.
  5. Surely that's not offence; that's abuse? Is this the five minute argument?
  6. That would be a meltdown to beat all meltdowns.... Even Hibs would struggle with that. Although a 25 point deduction for fielding ineligible players might help.
  7. Didn't I hear somewhere they'd got Jermain Defoe to sign a permanent contract? Edit - actually, bearing in mind Gerard's comments that he didn't recognise the team after the Hearts defeat, maybe that number should be significantly higher?
  8. Thanks for the update. To be honest he's probably about four times beyond what we'd be able to afford. That being said both Lawless and Erskine joined us and you took a couple of ours on loan so maybe the gulf in wages isn't as great.
  9. I see that Watt originally commanded a transfer fee of £1.2 million just five years ago so obviously has something; however it does seem he has a bit of an attitude so probably wouldn't fit into the team anyway.
  10. Not sure about Tony Watt just looking at his stats. He seems to have had a lot of clubs for someone who should be in the middle of his career. Also a lot of the loans appear to have been terminated early. I suppose St Johnstone supporters might have a better idea but, on paper at least, he looks a downgrade on Hamilton. Then again stats don't prove everything; as I recall Dykes figures weren't that great before he joined us; largely due to his primary role as a provider at QoS. By contract though Watt is significantly older. I agree with Menga Bus; at the age of 26 he's almost certainly not going to be happy with a place on the bench in case Dykes gets injured.
  11. Unfortunately, experience of supporting Livi, shows that that kind of thought process normally ends in tears. Last season we were safe and then proceeded to get two points from our remaining five games. Okay; there were a lot of team changes but it was still a case of foot well and truly off the pedal.
  12. At the risk of being pedantic surely Rangers went out of business. The new club started life in the third division (surely already a concession of not having to start in the Juniors?) despite arguments from some of the money-men that it would destroy Scottish football.
  13. Seemed to have enough pace in consecutive games last season against St Johnstone when he was playing left of centre and scored in both games. His acceleration from a standing start isn't great but his stamina and speed once up there is fine in my book.
  14. Sorry but his strength is either on the left wing or hovering around the edge of the opposition penalty area; that's where his real strength is. For defensive/holding midfield I'd have Jacobs ahead of him every time. Until the St Johnstone game I was actually thinking of trying Sibbald ahead of Pittman.
  15. Probably DJ - we really need a goalkeeper to sit on the bench..... Pray god its not Michael McKenna
  16. Actually I don't think Ross Stewart is a bad keeper but certainly needed match experience. His kicking wasn't great but that could be worked on. However he's been with us for about 3 years now hasn't he; on that basis I doubt he'll be back.
  17. Ross County on the Wednesday and ICT on the Saturday.... is it actually worth going home?
  18. To be honest I'm not sure many are really bothered. I imagine that focusing on promotion to the championship is more important to Raith than a couple more cup games and, for Livi, the benefits of finishing in the top[ six far out-weight a cup run unless you make it to the semis or better. Not only is there the increased prize money and five matches which could have a real impact on the final winner and runners up positions (increased gates etc.) but its also a guarantee that we'll be in the premiership next season. There were huge gaps around me yesterday with seats, normally occupied by season ticket holders, left empty. Its actually a bit of a mystery to me why more people didn't turn up to this game; playing the same teams 3 or 4 times a year (excluding cup games) sure should mean the opportunity to play someone difference would generate a bit more interest. Certainly by the number of supporters travelling over from Fife; one group got it.
  19. Its been a while since we've had a visit from Rovers so I thought I'd better remind them to bring sun glasses. Situated in the East stand you'll spend an hour staring into a low sun.
  20. Maley's the reserve keeper We had three trialists out in Spain training with us and playing against Ajax. Brown then signed up until the end of the season leaving the midfielder and attacking winger I believe, Unless of course Sarkic is back
  21. Not sure you can be offside in your own half to be honest.
  22. I think the managers both had a word with him at half time as no further cards appeared for the rest of the game.
