Finally got round to picking up The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Excellent. I'm reading Huckleberry Finn before going back to the Millennium trilogy.

The way I read it is we all send our boys there for assessment. They cut the fat. The players that are left still belong to their clubs.

I tweeted @Glasgow2014 to see if they were putting on a test marathon as they did in London. Was asked to sign up for text alerts in the most enthusiastically generic fashion. Which I dutifully did. I'm assuming they won't take the elite up and downSt Vincent Street and the Kingston Bridge....

I'm fairly certain that there would have been interest in Barr and Farid while still under contract. All we heard about was Championship sides after Barr, teams queuing up for Farid at Christmas. I think they are shit. I'd have been happy with the basic design had there been no red in the home top. The collar cheapens it, makes it look like a training top.

I used to pass GazFFC off as an irrelevance but it turns out he's maturing into a right bellend. Swarley - the only advice I can give you is that I gave up playing football, hockey and squash while training for any big runs. My ankles and knees couldn't take it. I took a few dull ones as well that stopped my from training.

I think you should be basing your estimated finish time on the time taken on longer runs. I know the entry forms ask the question and probably before you can accuratly say however. With my 1st marathon I estimated 4hrs 20mins based on a guess. I ran a half marathon and came in at 2 hrs 5 mins so felt I was on track. I ran the first half of the actual marathon at 1hr 52mins but finished the b*****d in 4hrs 53mins. My last marathon was 4hrs 18mins and my last half was 1hr 55mins. All useless info. I'd say you are not far off. Somewhere between yor target and 4 hours.
