  1. Last day at Brockville. I couldn't get in to Cooperage Lane as it was too busy. I had to settle in the away end until racing round when the gates opened for the last 10 minutes. It was quite poignant facing the spot I'd stood in since I started going aged 9. Cooperage Lane My spot
  2. 1:55:07, an improvement of 33 seconds. I'll take that. Great times guys.
  3. By the time he looked into it the marathon was closed. It would have been lunacy. London Marathon 2015 ballot magazines dropping through letter boxes today...
  4. Huge congrats to everyone who ran Loch Ness. The marathon sounds brutal. I have a mate who thought he could enter with 6 weeks prep time. He was convinced it would be a PB course as it was along side a loch. Beginning to get the nerves for next Sunday now after catching up with this thread.
  5. Weren't Dundee charging our kids and letting theirs in for free?
  6. Didn't Stevie May move for £800K? Fucking bite the hand off anyone offering £1M. Anyone questioning the board or players motives when an English Championship side comes in needs their head examined. Get a sell on clause in place pronto.
  7. OF loanees know they are eventually heading back to their own, bigger clubs. Ex-OF guys are playing for their careers. You can see why there would be a difference in attitude that shows in performance.
  8. Monkey Tennis has a massive stauner for Houstie
  9. Finnigan's biggest problem was that he was signed immediately after Stokes left the club. That and he liked a scrap with a centre half. I liked Craig mind you and he seemed to be up for games against Hearts.
  10. I'd settle for 4th but I'm hopeful of 2nd. We saw last season the advantage Hamilton had over us in terms of freshness. I'm counting on a bit of culture shock for the Edinburgh sides. I was dreading this season and wanted Hibs to stay up. Now that we are on the verge of it starting I'm letting my heart rule my head: Hibs have a full side to try and sign. Then their untested manager has to build them into a team. Hearts are pinning their hopes on a rookie manager (who will have to contend with Levein meddling no doubt) trying to lead youngsters who I'd suggest are no better than ours. Sevco have Ally McCoist as a manager and seem to have retained their bombscare of a centre half. Let's get tore into them.
  11. I'm very satisfied with McDonald coming in. He's as good as we could have hoped for and I'm just glad his Hearts background might have put off a move to Easter Road.
  12. At least BPM will be happy. He's been doubting that Miller would sign for weeks now. I'm unsure what agenda he's pushing but he'll feel vindicated this afternoon.
  13. He got his goals when Pressley played him a bit wider. I always thought he was average through the middle. Shits out of 1 on 1 situations. Twitter has Blackburn fans arguing over whether Left Back Matthew Briggs is off to Motherwell or Falkirk. This begs 3 questions: How much are we getting for Kingsley? Are the board splashing cash this season? Are we genuinely competing against teams with European football for player signatures? A sign that the Championship is far more attractive to players down south than our Premiership is? That's 4 questions.
  14. f**k off Al, the adults are talking. I'd gladly hand over as many seats to the Orcs if there was a guarantee the gate receipts were handed to Houstie to spend before the end of the window.
  15. If it is to be Maybury at least Vaulks will remain at centre half. With Duffie staying our right back position would be well covered.
  16. Henry, Ferguson, Coyle, James and Hagi. 0.5 players away from half a team.
  17. Says they guy who was pumped at the prospect of Gus McPherson taking the reigns at Queens. You can't compare the buzz we had when Jobby came back to Brockville with what you experienced. He had a great playing spell with us and was bringing in half his Airdrie side that had finished 2nd. He also brought in some ex-Bairns to supplement a couple of great youngsters. Exciting times. I seem to recall you lost your shit when we appointed Gary Holt. Are we to expect this every summer should we continue to lose our managers to bigger clubs?
  18. He also benefitted from having Farid to aim for.
  19. Sare yin - posts on this forum dating back to 2009 with Dundee Utd fans calling him Houstie.
  20. This appointment has really got me buzzing. It's like when McCall took over. If Barr came back it would be superb. Just ignore Monkey Tennis - he didn't cope with last years close season to well either.
  21. Scott must be ready to jump ship. Isn't it Homecoming this year? I can understand Houstie not considering us previously. He'd finished 3rd and 4th twice with a Scottish Cup win on his CV. He was being bandied about for the likes of the Blackpool job. I wouldn't have expected him to drop down a division to a club battling with a tax bill. Circumstances change and we would be foolish to cut our noses off to spite our faces. Fans of other clubs (and Bairns of the younger variety) will probably not understand the bond we have with Houstie. It's not every club that has a proper cult favourite that goes on to have a very solid, decent career in club and international coaching and then management. I think we have the potential to suffer this season. We needed a safe pair of hands that the fans can get behind. He's not a Calderwood or McPherson and he ain't got the baggage Jeffries or McCall would have brought. He'll also be in charge of some teenage boys with 50+ games under their belt, not some EPL wannabes who think they have made it after 8 starts. Let's hope his scouting for Celtic involved watching some realistic targets.
  22. Please no. Hasn't he been selling health insurance?
