Figure of speech. IMO, ideal scenario is we get a younger, more mobile dominant CB to build around with McLean still around for his influence as captain before moving him into coaching. But I really feel his flaws will be exposed in L1, unfortunately.
-
I wouldn't move him on either. But I would look to replace him in the XI for next season.
-
Not necessarily faster, but more capable of taking their chances once they get in behind. Our defence is quite vulnerable to allowing opponents in behind. Thankfully in L2, that doesn't always get punished.
-
McLean is clearly a good presence as a leader, on and off the pitch. At L2 level, he's very useful - the way he brings the ball out from the back is one of the few things that opens up space for us. But he's 33 and I think he looks it, unfortunately. His lack of pace will be an issue against L1 attackers. I think there's a skill to recognising the right time to move on an important player and hope Young has that with Pabs.

I think the club has a big summer ahead of it in terms of recruitment. This season has been great and the team is very likeable, but really not sure there's enough quality to survive in L1. I'd be prioritising a replacement for Paul McLean (his lack of mobility will surely see him cooked in L1), a central midfielder who can get his foot on the ball and control and a goal-scoring winger. Get those three pieces in the door, I reckon we have a chance.

Great scenes at full time (and before). A very likeable team. It's been a great season. From the autumn when we were blowing teams away to the run-in where we ground out so many late winners, I'll remember it forever. Looking forward to next season already!

Just one point! That's all I ask!

Dumbarton vs Stirling Albion

100% this. Felt like Saturday at Stenny was our 'we've won it' moment -

Roughly 600 fans travelled through to a L2 match on a Tuesday night after it had been postponed four times previously (and just three days after a similar number travelled to Stenny) and that's apparently still not good enough? Come on now. -

Felt quite anticlimactic tonight, when is a shame because had the game been played a few weeks ago I imagine there would have been fireworks. Not much in the match besides the two headed chances (one for each team). -

Genuine Q - is that just the speed the Dumbarton GK plays at? Because it was exactly the same at Forthbank a few weeks ago. Two must-win matches for Dumbarton, so surely it's not actually time-wasting? -

There's been pessimism from our fans before pretty much every match for months. I get it - we haven't really produced an emphatic performance since the autumn - but we're 16 games unbeaten! I reckon we'll get the job done tonight. -
There have been some great moments this season, but today's was the best of the bunch

This is a bit of a piss take. I know plenty fans (myself included) who felt it was an insult to ask us to queue outside in the pissing rain for 30 mins to get the voucher, and so didn't. Dumbarton should be operating an honest jar policy for the rearranged fixture. That would be common sense. -

Saw the queue for a refund outside in the pissing rain and thought... nah. I won't be coming back for the re-arranged game anyway. There's only so many times this can happen before it's just taking the piss. -

Thought 937 was pretty good considering there was an Old Firm on -

Yesterday's attendance - 937. 39% bigger than East Fife's biggest league crowd of the season... -

East Fife are a decent team. Impressed by them. Good on the ball. High level of technical ability. Think that's probably a good point for Albion all things considered. -

Tuesday was a struggle, but we got a bit of a second wind after the Stranraer game (where I feared we were running out of steam). Cooper and Dunsmore coming into the team helped freshen things up. Do we know if Cooper's injury is a bad one? Will he be back for Saturday? -
I'll have nightmares about that Kyle Banner backpass tonight...

Yeah, Dale signed on a while ago

Great to see Blair sign on. One of the best GKs in the league and I think finding good GKs at this level is really difficult. Davidson has more to do to convince me. I don't think he's been very good recently, although ability is clearly there.

Big day! Some serious daylight starting to appear. Well done boys!
