  1. Giving yourself more games , more travelling you have a big chance of getting an away game up north in the early rounds which are not cheap playing against teams who are not quite up to darvels standard meaning more injuries ? So voluntary putting yourself in this position will hinder your ambition to win the league .
  2. Darvel must be desperate to jump back into bed with that mob ! Maybe it's because they are barred from the West next season or they see the money that the finalists got and they want some of it ? Darvel are not showing any ambition to move forward with a decision like that .
  3. For me it's already at that point once the East teams left it was devalued then it's the prize money that's keeping it afloat .
  4. Do you know something that we don t know I've heard two more top clubs not renewing their membership?
  5. Talk at today's game he was going to medda he is out of contract so free to sign for anyone. Decent player but for me he's not had a good season form wise.
  6. Most premier teams have been charging £8 for games all season I don t think an extra £2 for a final is to much to charge.
  7. Hurlford charge £6 for their games and the buffs have been charging £8 all season. As for the final it's the wosfl that set the price club's didn't have a say.
  8. We are never going to agree I've got my opinion and I will leave it there.
  9. I'm not blaming the juniors I'm blaming you for delaying the competition and leaving it until now and teams have virtually no players left yes I get the darvel problem but still plenty dates to get it played earlier.
  10. Kilwinning Rangers have been hindered by the junior cup as it was played before our own association's cup we have only played a few games in the last few months while waiting for a final that should have been played weeks ago .
  11. Was at the semi final at love street when you beat the buffs on penalties a crowd of over 8 thousand that evening but they are great memories of a cup that was great in its day.
  12. And that's the way it should be all the years I've been watching the juniors the cup was the big prize your team could get relegated but if you had a good run in the cup it was a good season can remember many times when you won your tie the first thing on your mind was when is the draw and hoping for an away the for a day out .
  13. Absolutely winning the league now is the main prize because of the pyramid the only thing that's keeping the junior cup going is money winning it is no longer up there because of the lack of teams involved. Talbot fans and players will revel in it because it's a cup and the money gained is still the biggest financial prize there is . Until those in charge can get one cup going I think the junior cup will continue to dwindle in numbers and the South challenge cup will become the norm.
  14. The junior cup is the best known cup at our level because generations all over Scotland have known about its history for years so that's why the South challenge cup unless you are involved in the game most people have had never heard of it ,will it get to a stage where it will get to the same stature of the junior cup probably not as in the past the junior cup attracted thousands to its games and not just at the final where now big crowds like the way they used to be are not there anymore for obvious reasons. The junior cup has now dwindled down to no East teams wanting anything to do with the sjfa and a few West teams are the same and I think next season it may dwindle even further so that leaves Midland and North teams and how they think of the cup now who knows as they now become more associated with the highland league . In my opinion you may as well just hand the cup to talbot each season as there is no competition left in it. As for the South challenge cup I think it's going to take a bit of promoting to get fans interested in it even though it's got all the top teams involved fans just don t get excited about it like they used to do about the junior cup think the only way is a new national competition because while the junior and South challenge cups continue to be played then both are cancelling each out .
  15. You need to wake up and get a life ya sad old git 2022 and talking like that you just stay behind yer curtains and think of the good old days because unlike you most of us have moved on .
  16. Your paranoia is ripping out of you no mention of any the teams in the final , remember a team called yoker are also in the final it's not all about talbot.
  17. I won't be going instead I will go to hurlford v pollok I haven't attended a final for a few years now not watched it on tv personally it's not the same time to put it to the hampden museum.
  18. As a neutral when largs beat beith 8_1 the football largs played that night was superb. My own team buffs beating darvel at home ..
  19. Should be it was unfortunate this season our 20s never went to plan but we have planned it better and should be competitive. I don t know much about youth football only going from what I'm told about it.
  20. The buffs won't be hanging around waiting on talbot to go up I can assure you of that if we are in a position to go up we will not hesitate nor look back.
  21. They did indicate that there was a possibility that they might not be able to field a team but it fell on deaf ears
