  1. You never want to lose to them, but who cares? It was a friendly that might help us when we play better sides. Robertson's mistake was worse than Maguire's, but I did laugh at his own goal! f**k god and the king.
  2. SAHB The Blue Nile Probably the Cocteau Twins Simple Minds were annoying, but they had a great sound at some point.
  3. How every club should have a philosophy, and that every manager appointed should follow that philosophy - also, that the beautiful game comes before results.
  4. I usually have a lot of time for John Hughes, but he embarrassed himself on Sportsound yesterday - even richard gordon was scoffing at Hughes's rant about footballing philosophies.
  5. I was happy for Naismith to be given a shot, and I would usually argue for Managers to be given more time, but Naismith doesn't look like he knows what he's doing. There doesn't seem to be a clear game plan, and there are issues with his team selections and subs. As almost everyone seems to be saying, it all looks a bit Neilsonesque. There's bound to be a change before the aiberdeen game, but it'll probably just be a cabinet re-shuffle. I'd be tempted to get rid, and bring in an ootsider.
  6. A deserved win for 'well - they were the better side in the first half, and defended well. I like Haring, but he looked well off the pace returning from injury. Blair Spittall won't be everyone's cup of tea., but he's always played well against us - I think I'd rather see us signing someone like him rather than taking gambles on randoms from other 'markets' - not so much a 'guid Scottish laddie' - just a decent reliable midfield player. We were never going to score - we could have danced all night.
  7. I still feel we've missed a trick with Conor Smith. That's him away on loan to the only English club with a naughty word in its name.
  8. Always liked Irving, and said at the time I'd have kept him - good for him if he's doing well - a midfield player who can pass the ball. West 'am is a surprise, but fair play - good player, imo.
  9. Toby Sibbick: Not a centre-half? Not a midfield player? Not a right-back? What is he?
  10. Steven Craigan mentioned him at least three times in commentary.
  11. Ken what - 2 decent trips for the fans, and our big Euro night was against Rosenberg - f**k it.
  12. We're starting with the team I would have picked. So we're fucked.
  13. I think there's something in this - played the second half v Rosenberg, over an hour v Partick, and started last night - too much too soon. Same with Banningime, imo. Daft.
  14. We played ok last night, but I wasn't feeling it. Too many mistakes - when you're making mistakes, I often think you're being pressured into it by better players. I thought they were a wee bit better than us, and 2-1 was about right. Antonio/Johnny Vargas was good, but we didn't make enough of him. Boyce was very good. Having said that, I didn't think PAOK were brilliant, and we should go there thinking we can get something if we give ourselves our best shot. We can give ourselves a chance by starting with the strongest XI. I think Offiah and Sibbick should have started ahead of Atkinson and Cochrane/Kingsley. In the coming games, the question has to be whether Offiah starts ahead of Atkinson or Rowles. I'm more than happy that Naismith is getting a shot, but he's making his mistakes where everyone can see them rather than at a lower level - I reckon he can probably take it.
  15. The bonus about getting humped out of Europe is that we'll be able to dispense with the whole McAvoy carry on. I bet Wee Budgie asks them to spin the façade out for a few weeks, just for show.
  16. Rosenborg v Hearts: 'Crucial' for Premiership side to reach group stages - Frankie McAvoy - BBC Sport Coverage: Listen on BBC Radio Scotland Extra/DAB/810MW, live text commentary on the BBC Sport website & app.
