If he goes and the people who signed him stay, their first statement would be a fucking cracker. “Right lads, you got your way, we punted him. Can you give us your money again?”

I still don’t think that solves the problem. Whether you agree or not, Raith Rovers will, for at least a number of years, be known as the club who signed a rapist and cause this fallout. Whilst I completely agree that everyone who made the decision, stood by it or allowed it to happen should be punted firmly into the nearest sea, the image of the club remains the same until the people who eventually take over make overtly significant changes to that through a number of ways. I really hope you do, too. I want to hate Raith Rovers because you’re from Kirkcaldy and I’m from a nearby town, not because you signed a rapist.

That statement is a fucking shocker. “We consider him to be part of Raith Rovers football Club.” When you have dozens, if not hundreds of fans telling you they won’t be back for as long as he’s there, “one big happy RRFC family” isn’t the angle you’re wanting. Holy f**k man.

Whilst I absolutely agree with her and commend her decision alongside everyone else who has openly disconnected themselves from the club, I am somewhat surprised, purely from a legal perspective, that she has used the word ‘convicted’ there. Unless of course the ruling from the civil case allows people to use the word ‘convicted’ against him without any legal ramifications.

He pleaded not guilty and has faced no criminal proceedings, how can he be rehabilitated or demonstrate remorse? Yes, ‘suddenly’ there is a huge line drawn at rape. Others such as Martindale have accepted responsibility for their offences and have demonstrated insight into the ramifications and impact of their offences. Those are signs of rehabilitation. I like how you have pointed out that Martindale served a custodial sentence but still fail to see what the difference is between his case and this one. Surely you’re not that dense?
