  1. For Celtic it looks like Bobby Hogg. Who played 328 games for us between 1932 and 1948. He was a defender. In modern times I would've said Tommy Boyd. But he scored twice in 364 games. Including one I witnessed as he scrambled home a goal at Brockville to give us a 2-1 win (I think it was the winner..?!) Closest in modern times is Tosh McKinlay who never scored in 139 games for Celtic.
  2. There was some bloke who recently was all over the news about sex trafficking and some other horrendous stuff. Think he was hiding in Romania or somewhere. Either American or British. He was one of those Internet influencer types... So famous. I can't even remember his name... But seemed as big (if not bigger) a c*** as Joey Barton.
  3. impressive. I've added mine. Impressed that I averaged over 3 goals a game despite not going to many games particularly high scoring. Had a very steady 3 to 5 goals a game all season and only two 0-0s.
  4. Teams trying to play out from the back and things like this happening! https://youtu.be/rsWM_5jYiLk?si=wJwa7jt2p2M-5JgO
  5. Got to Newtown Park at 6.45 for the Bo'ness Athletic V Armadale Thistle game only for the referee to call it off at 6.55 for a slippy pitch! So no Random football for me this month
  6. Just booked some cheap flights £130 return including a bag. via Geneva in Switzerland. It'll be a bit of a train/bus journey. But a hell of a lot cheaper than flying into Germany. Can get to Stuttgart and Munich within 6 hours or less either via Basel-Freiburg or Zurich. Still don't have tickets for any games. But I'll either have a nice holiday in Switzerland southern Germany or make a game or two.
  7. Managed to get to a game today. And it was my original choice as well. Largs Thistle V Lochee United in the Junior Cup. And it turned out to be an incident filled thriller as well. I wasn't sure what to expect before hand with Largs being mid table WOS Prem against free scoring Midland league leaders. Largs took the lead on 17 minutes when the ball broke for Ramsay on the edge of the box. He controlled the ball before shooting past Easton in the Lochee goal. Largs then controlled the rest of the first half and doubled the lead on 40 minutes when Sewell had a left footed shot from the edge of the box beat Easton at the far post. A deserved 2-0 Half time lead for Largs. Lochee though are not undefeated this season for nothing. They came out more determined in the second half as Largs dug in and tried to counter. They got deeper and deeper. Lochee won a free kick on the right which was swung in. Scobie met the cross and headed home! Game on! McCreath who had been booked in the first half then received a second yellow (can't remember if this was before the first goal for Lochee) the pressure was no building and the Largs assistant manager was given a straight red for dissent. The equaliser came when Lochee won another free kick 30 yards out. The free kick was fumbled by Zalewski in Largs goal and the ball was scrambled home for 2-2. Both teams then seemed to want to avoid penalties as they pushed for a winner. Largs came closest as they hit the cross bar with the last kick on 95 minutes. Penalties it was then. Lochee went first and scored each of their 3 penalties as Easton in Lochee's goal was the hero as he produced two outstanding saves. The third Largs penalty went wide and Lochee went into the last 8, 3-0 on penalties. Entrance £9, programme £2.
  8. He's magnificent. I'm enjoying this more than having to listen to Ian Crocker or Sam Matterface etc.. The game is fairly decent for its albeit, very low standard.
  9. Yeah, sounds either stoned and/or slightly pished on rum or something . Seems to be enjoying himself though. Sint Maaten just hit the cross bar from 45 yards as the striker tried to chip the goalie. Would've been a cracker. Similar to Frederico Demarco's goal last week. I don't have Viaplay so can't watch Scotland
  10. Just tuned in. Sint Maartin just took a 2-1 lead against the run of play. Cracking finish!
  11. I'd planned to go to Hill of Beath Hawthorn V Dundonald, but that was off after a morning pitch inpection. So also headed to Spartans.
  12. Yep. Just checked. Nothing for me as well.
  13. No email for me as yet. I take it they'll send them out all at once.
  14. I was watching Inter V Frosinone on Sunday night. And during the match they gave one about Frosinone not winning an away game in Serie A since April 2019. A grand total of 9 (now ten) games as they lost to Inter.
  15. As I was working this weekend, I decided to head across the bridges and take in the Dunfermline Athletic V Dundee United game at East End Park. Ticket was £23 for the main stand and programme £3. Thought it was a decent game from the start despite the lack of clear cut chances. Both teams were ambitious in trying to get forward and score. Bit it was the visitors who took the lead on 37 minutes when Middleton sent in a cross to Grimshaw who's shot was saved, but it fell to Fotheringham who headed home. The second half though was excellent as both teams opened up a bit and Dunfermline equalised while on top. Moffat had tge ball played to him on the half way line as the Arabs defence opened up like the red sea as he had the whole of the half to run in on goal as he slotted the ball past Mehmet. The game was stretched at this point as Dunfermline looked to take the lead, but several substitutions worked better for the visitors as they took controland on 85 minutes they took the lead when ex Par Mochrie found space in the penalty area, turned and fired home in front of the large travelling support. Dunfermline had a chance to equalise on 90 minutes but a free kick when over the bar. I missed the 5 minutes injury time as I had to rush back to the station. But United held out for the 3 points. A superb crowd of 7237, which included about 2500 United fans.
  16. How did you get tickets? I've tried for Club Brugge a few years back and it was membership only to get tickets.
  17. Will fly to an airport outside of Germany but with good connections and use train/bus from there. I won't get tickets via SFA, though I have applied for 4 matches in Stuttgart, Munich, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf in that order via UEFA (Only have a week off mid June), and should hear back next week if I've been successful for any of them. My Plan is if I get all 4 is fly to Basel Euro airport and back via Amsterdam/Dusseldorf/Eindhoven/Brussels Charleroi (which ever is cheapest) to make best use of time and money. As for accommodation. I've booked hotels in 3 of the cities with free cancellation. For Frankfurt, I've family close by so will stay with them if I get the Frankfurt match. There is easy train connections from Basel to Stuttgart via Freiburg, Stuttgart to Munich, Munich to Frankfurt and Mainz (where family is near Frankfurt to Dusseldorf via Köln)
  18. Headed down to Newcastle today as there was a choice of several games on. Bit most were cancelled this morning which left me with two choices. Hebburn Town V Grimsby Borough or South Shields V Tamworth. I plumped for the National League North game at South Shields as it was a top of the table clash (I did stop of at Hebburn though and buy a programme) South Shields play about 20 minutes south of Newcastle City centre and Bede is the nearest metro stop. Ticket was £14 standing or £16 seated. Programmes £3. Tamworth were top before the start of the day with South Shields in 3rd. I expected a tight game and that's what the 2309 fans got in the first half as there was few chances. The home side had the best of these as a long ball found their Number 9, he beat the defence and rounded the keeper, but his shot hit the post and was hoofed clear by the Tamworth defence. Tamworth then controlled the rest of the first half but only really created half chances. The Teams went in at half time goalless. The second half started at a greater pace as South Shields forced the Tamworth keeping a good save seconds after the restart after Mongoy . The home side must have been given a rocket at half time because they were fired up at the start of the half. They took the lead on 58 minutes when number 7 sent in a deep cross from the right. Mongoy (who had a shocking first half) rose high and bulleted a header home to give Shields the lead. The match opened up as Tamworth went for an equaliser but only really created half chances as both the hime and away defence through themselves into every tackle and shot. South Shields managed to see the game out. An entertaining match with some good football and a very good atmosphere between the supporters if both teams. South Shields have a good set up and plenty of food and beer options with a fanzine inside the ground.
  19. I was thinking at one point we were going to beat our record win (9-1 against Andover in the Hampshire cup final) But only Aldershot can make hard work of being 7-0 up . We are enjoying g our best season in a good few years. But didn't see this happening. Delighted
  20. Popped down to Easter Road tonight for the Hibernian v Ross County game. At £10 for a ticket. It would've been rude not to. But after about 43 minutes I was regretting this decision as the game up to that point was utterly dreadful! Both teams set up very defensively and the only notes of interest were a shot for each team which went wide. This was until Elie Youan cut inside on 44 minutes to shot on goal. The shot took a deflection and went past Ross Laidlaw in the County goal. This seemed to wake the crowd up as much as the teams. The second half started with Hibs a bit more ambitious in going forward. And they made it 2-0 on 54 minutes when they broke forward on the left with a ball to Jair Tavares. Who I thought should have passed it to Dylan Vente. But instead fired a right foot shot past the near post of Ross Laidlaw. There was a VAR check for offside, bit this was dismissed and the goal awarded. Ross County were now showing more ambition as the game opened up a bit. And had a shout for a penalty. But the ball hit Hanlons hand after he played it of his foot. A corner was awarded. Ross County though soon got a goal back. A free kick was played into the box on 74 minutes and it hit of Delferriere and went in to the net. Ross County smelt blood and scored again on 82 minutes when Simon Murray crossed into Jordan White, who controlled the ball, turned and fired his shot into the roof of the net. Game on. Hibs reacted by trying to get up the pitch, but the play was to slow. It was Ross County who could and possibly should have won tge game. They forced Woolacott into two very good saves in the 90th minute. The game ended 2-2. A fair result.
  21. Another one at Dunbar United V East Fife today. Went with my East Fife supporting mate. Who's raging after an 'awful and embarrassing' Fifers performance. The visitors started better and were unlucky to not score in the first half. But apart from that I thought Dunbar deserved the win. They got the lead through a penalty and worked their socks off to keep the lead. £12 ticket and £2.50 programme.
  22. Cheers. If true. I'm surprised they haven't been banned outright, rather than just away games. I'm utterly fed up with them and their antics. It's all about them and their political agenda. Its never about the team and the football. If any other supporter behaved this way, they'd be banned for life.
  23. Don't suppose you can copy and paste article so I don't have to click on the Sun website, thanks.?
