  1. It will be interesting to see the managerial candidates that emerge for the Morton job, as we will be likely be fishing from the same pool if AJ goes. Personally, if AJ does go at some point, i’d be on the phone to Dobbie to see if he is interested.
  2. Remember we did get a £500,000 grant from the Scottish Government less than a year ago. I wonder if any of this money was set aside for future infrastructure projects or did it all go on replacing income from having no crowds?
  3. Ok, what about one of those daft “either or” questions for the weekend, just to see what most people would pick. Option 1: another relegation battle next year on our crap plastic pitch Option 2: a fight for a promotion play-off place in league 1 and a new pitch I think my enthusiasm for watching Queens on an ongoing weekly basis might be higher under option 2. The current situation just feels like it might be driving fans away.
  4. Changing almost the entire playing squad each season, whether its by accident or design, was always a risky strategy that was going to catch up with us eventually and it looks like it could be this season. Ironically, the club look like they have tried to halt that trend by starting to give 2-year contracts to some players this year. In some ways getting relegated & pressing the re-set button might be ok, at least we might get away from another dreary relegation struggle. Oh, and a new pitch for next season would make a season in league 1 seem more bearable.
  5. Get cooper & todd on for a wee bit of experience ffs. Team of wee laddies out there
  6. I dont know his contract situation, but i think he could be one of the 2/3 players Gerrard tries to tempt to Villa - he absolutely loved Ryan Jack. Would be interesting to see how he performed at that level
  7. Young Max up against Zanatta tomorrow. Could be a defining moment for AJ’s time as manager if Zanatta is on form…….
  8. Maybe the Tanner fund collection could be matched by the Board and spent on ground maintenance instead of a new player? Obviously wouldnt solve things, but would be a start
  9. Poor display tonight. Our 4-4-2 shape didnt work and you could have driven a bus through our midfield & defence 1st half. Max Johnston to his credit cleared a couple off the line, but he doesnt move past his own half way line, so offers nothing going forward. His inclusion on a weekly basis will turn more fans against the manager. Ally Roy spent most of the night tracking back to cover their right back. Soares was decent when he came on and was much more effective than Cameron. Overall, poor in midfield and upfront. We look better in a 3-5-2 shape and Gibson and Cooper look best 2 players for those wing-back positions. Was good to see Todd on the pitch, but he didnt get long enough to influence the game. Nditi our best player once he went to left back from midfield. Its going to be a long, hard (to watch) season
  10. Its difficult to know the line up AJ will go with, other than Max Johnston at RWB of course
  11. McCall will now sign him on a pre-contract in january
  12. Yes. I think we probably have to get used to it. Not sure it would have happened in many other circumstances other than a father/son situation given how good Gibson has been in that position
  13. Josh Rae for Brynn and Todd for Cochrane Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I’m glad we’ve brought in another option up front - it was badly needed. Hopefully Cameron can get us up the park a bit with his hold-up play and also grab a decent amount of goals. Im also keen for Josh Rae to come back and hopefully reduce the amount of goals we are conceding - do we have any idea how long he will be out for? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. They have a very strong defence and we have a powderpuff attack. Not expecting too much to be honest, but hoping to be pleasantly surprised
  16. Yes, but we conceded 51 goals in 27 games with Buchanan. 0 in 4 games is decent by comparison.
  17. The opinion of Killie fans that Broadfoot was “done” when we were interested in signing him would appear to have been wide of the mark, given his team has kept 4 clean sheets in their first 4 league games!
  18. Extremely harsh on Reilly. He was a great player for us last time around and has played at a higher level since he left us. No reason to think he wouldn’t still cut it at championship level and be a very useful addition to the squad. I too would be delighted to see him back for the season
  19. Now your talking Northfield . We desperately need another striker and Gav would be perfect
  20. Maryhill Magyars 0 Maxwelltown Thistle 1 Ally Roy to score in 89th minute
  21. I see our former keeper Rohan Ferguson was playing for Larne tonight in their 2-1 europa league qualifier win over Aarhus of the Danish Superleague. Looks like a good move for the lad.
  22. Yes, its surprising he’s gone to that level. Also surprised that premier league Burnley are in for one of our other loanees from last season, Cairan Dickson.
  23. He’ll be playing for the Rangers team in the lowland league. Not much chance of any loans from Rangers or Celtic this season i would guess.
