  1. Stoneyburn 4 Linton 0

Paid my first visit to Beechwood Park and received a very warm welcome.

It was good to hear about the improvements that have been made on and off the pitch and to see the work that is ongoing at the ground.

Stoneyburn dominated the first half and should have scored more. They played some really good football. With Linton going in at half time a man down(should have been two) I feared the worst. However they were on top for the first twenty minutes but couldn’t score and eventually Stoneyburn put the game to bed.

    A very enjoyable evening.

Just saw you say glenrothes will be relegated if broxburn lose the playoff. Take it same for lochore

It is the same for Lochore.

Like you Searchers I thought that Whitburn had blown it as the EOS site had Kirkcaldy scoring a winner in the 98th minute. An unfortunate mistake that would have given you false hope.

I can’t see Whitburn  failing to beat Lochore on Wednesday. As Dav says it will be a hell of an achievement for the Central Parkers.

As for Saints it was a poor performance yesterday with the title at stake. When a debutant from the under 20s gets man of the match having only come on with fifteen  minutes to go it tells you all you need to know.

Now we have to win our last two games by thirteen goals. A tall order indeed.

Congrats to St Andrews on promotion, been loosely keeping up with them the last couple of seasons due to Dundee having youth players on loan there, and the club has looked a class outfit the whole time gaining back-to-back promotions and an SFA license during that time. Would like to see them make a good effort in the Prem next season, I'm sure they will too.

A question for @patriot1, how's Lewis Lorimer got on there? Lad's only 18 but I've known of him for a while as he was starting for our reserves at 16. How has he handled the level and does he have a higher ceiling? Thanks!

I was going to say thanks for the kind words Ross but really I should be saying thanks for loaning us Lewis!!

He has been superb. Energetic, a good tackler, difficult to get past and his long range shooting ain’t bad either.

I would be delighted if we could secure him on loan for next season but it may be that Dundee will want to see him playing at a higher level. I’ll just need to enjoy watching him in our last few games.

  4. A massive day on Saturday.

If Whitburn win at Kirkcaldy then I think they are as good as up. I can’t see them dropping points at home to Lochore on Wednesday.

Newtongrange could do us a favour by taking points off Dunipace. A win for the Pace will mean we would need to score at least fourteen goals in our last three games to have a chance of going top on goal difference. A tall order.

Ps, if Newtongrange beat Dunipace, St Andrews and Whitburn in the space of eight days they deserve to go up.

  5. Well it was a tense battle tonight which was decided by a penalty but Saints have achieved a second straight promotion.

It’s been a cracking campaign which we have spent most of outside the promotion places not because of bad form but simoly down to not playing as many games as our opposition.

Now our attention turns to trying to win the title and then the King Cup semi against our bogey team Leith.

    Plenty still to play for.

Congratulations to Saints on gaining promotion to the Premier.

They've been a worthy adversary over the past 2 seasons.

Well deserved over the season, hopefully Whitburn can clinch that 3rd spot over our last 3 games.

    Thank you Dav!!

A huge game for Whitburn on Saturday. Take care of Kirkcaldy and I am sure that our celebrations tonight will be repeated at Central Park next Wednesday.

  7. St Andrews 7 Blackburn 0

I genuinely thought tonight was a possible banana skin for Saints. With Whitburn and Camelon winning recently the pressure was on to get back into the promotion places.

But Robbie’s men responded with one of their best 45 minutes of the season.

Three wins in our remaining five games will guarantee us promotion. With Vale of Leithen on Saturday it will surely be two from four heading into the big Whitburn clash next Wednesday.

"Star drop another 2 points", or Star gained a point against a rejuvenated Leith side unbeaten at home since November!!!

St Andrews are in the driving seat, no doubt, but you appear inconsistent of late. Look forward to seeing you at Nitten next week! 🌟

All the top five have dropped points recently. Heriot Watt and Leith have both been doing a good job of getting results against the top teams. Where were they earlier in the season?

And you don’t need to tell me about Leith. We haven’t beaten them since moving to the EOS!!

I would say roll on the 24th but we have two cup ties to deal with first.

  9. St Andrews 0 Kirkcaldy 3

Deeply disappointing day. The game was over by halftime as a goalkeeping error and a deflected shot helped the away team to a surprise three goal lead at the break.

Saints still in the box seat but will need a big improvement in their next league game at Newtongrange.

As for the Star they drop another two points and their best chance of promotion appears to lie with Gretna and Broxburn.

Dunipace are on the edge of promotion. They might have done enough already but one win will secure a well deserved Premier league place.

My bad. I’m getting my days mixed up at the moment.

The strain of this promotion race is getting to me😉

The top 5 are all relatively on a similar level,it's a promotion race and a half.

Add to that good mid table sides, whoever go's up will undoubtedly deserve to do so.

Heriot Watt have been doing a sterling job as the spoiler recently. Hopefully they can continue their good work against Dunipace on Saturday.

Camelon have a tricky game at home to Leith and of course we have our blockbuster against Newtongrange as well.

Unfortunately Dav I would be astonished if your match at Whitburn is on.
