    Third time lucky . . . .
St Andrews United and Dunfermline Athletic have agreed to play the twice postponed Fife Cup quarter-final tie on Tuesday the 5th of December with an 8pm kick-off. The Social Club will be open from 6pm and a full sized programme will be on sale for £2.
Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Please note that season tickets are not valid. Please also keep an eye on the weather and the club's official media platforms in case there are issues with the pitch building up to the match!

    One correction.

    Prices are £7 and £4

  2. St Andrews 4 Rosyth 1

Not as comfortable as the score line suggests.

Saints went two up in the first half hour and could have extended their lead but Rosyth pulled one back and the game could have went either way until Saints scored and Rosyth had two players sent off for dissent with fifteen minutes to go.

Should be a close game at home to Blackburn on Saturday with a quarter final place up for grabs.

Reporting can be patchy pre-R4 but so far:

    749     Dunbar v East Fife
    541     Forres v Buckie
    527     Kilwinning v Cowdenbeath
511     Albion Rovers v St Andrews
    508     Peterhead v Clachnacuddin
    485     Tranent v East Kilbride
    435     Huntly v Forfar
    412     Stenhousenuir v Brora
    385     Dumbarton v Banks o'Dee
    384     Brechin v Spartans
    270     Cumnock v Turriff

I was told officially it was 457 at Albion v St Andrews.

  4. Ardrossan 2 St Andrews 3

Despite the score line it was a comfortable win.

We had a mad minute midway through the first half where we had a penalty saved and Rovers went up the park and scored. However two goals in a minute at the end of the half plus a 25 yard screamer early in the second was enough to see us into the last 32.

It was only their goalkeeper who kept them in the game.

Interesting to note that it’s payment based on when you exit, I’m sure in the past it used to be a fee for every round,  so you’d earn more from saying winning a preliminary and going out round one than getting a bye to round one then going out.

That’s exactly why they changed it.

Given some of our fans have posted about that it would be good to get yourselves in the next round, I'd also like to point out that the above is something quite a few Clyde fans would love to see right now - we've been struggling both on and off the pitch for quite some time and if we were to replicate what appears to be happening at your club, it would be a real fillip for us.

Also, to add, would also be great to see us play you at your ground, as having been there before it was a really nice venue and would be good compared to the normal draws that we get.

Never give up hope Willie. Every team goes through tough periods in their history but that’s what makes the good times all the more enjoyable.

It’s great to see so many posters on here looking for a trip to St Andrews. I’d be delighted with another home draw and we’ll provide a warm welcome to whoever comes to our ground.

  7. I only saw the last twenty minutes of the Saints v Talbot game but Auchinleck hardly created a chance in their bid to rescue the tie.

Best crowd I have seen at our park.

Absolutely buzzing. Two years ago this club were struggling on and off the pitch. A new chairman, some hard work behind the scenes and things have turned around big time.

    Roll on tomorrow.

They supply monies to teams who are travelling far.
its the same as the SFA, for the same distance they will pay £500 to £600 costs, again someone can confirm exactly price per distance.

Teams could go bust having to pay out £900/£1000 or more for coaches just for the team bus and even £200/£260 for the junior FA doesn't put a dent in it and if your drawn away again.  Organized, well run clubs like Talbot with big fan bases wont really feel it but smaller clubs do

Sorry I may have misunderstood you.

I thought you were saying that the junior FA we’re contributing towards your bus for St Andrews.

Hopefully Talbots share of the gate will more than cover their bus🤞

To be fair, think that's a given that Talbot will have a better away support than most.  The price of buses now are huge and effects every team at this level, so it goes to stand, still expect Talbot support to be way bigger than most.   I think the junior Fa will supply £190 /£200 towards the travelling costs of the club, someone can correct me on this, so hopefully Talbot can arrange a good deal with their local coaches that they have used in the past. Actually hopefully the teams travelling far, can arrange good deals. 👍

    Thanks for the info guys.

Why would the junior FA subsidise Talbots bus for a SFA tournament?
