It’s about availability. The Premier always gets priority along with the other tier 6 leagues.
Without linesmen it is almost impossible for refs to call offsides accurately. But then how often do we see linesmen waiting for a ref to make a decision before raising his flag.

Jeanfield v Brechin is a belter. I’d be happy to see that being selected by the beeb.

When's the draw
Tonight at 6pm along with the EOS qualifying cup 3rd round.
Every club was sent a zoom link to watch the draws. I don’t know if it is for public consumption or restricted to club officials.

First round onwards.

Sauchie 4 St Andrews 2
A fairly even game which turned on two moments.
Two minutes after equalising Saints gave the ball away deep in their own half and Sauchie took advantage. Then at 3-2 our striker was wrestled to the ground when through on goal and the ref didn’t even give a foul.
Not the way I wanted our first ever Scottish Cup campaign to go but here’s looking to next season.
Ps, I can’t believe that Carnoustie score either!!

A fierce battle saw St Andrews take the three points thanks to a Lewis Sawers double, the first from the penalty spot and the second a superb solo goal.
Syngenta had loads of possession in the second half but created little.
Having played well against Whitburn and beaten Syngenta Saints have to believe they are in the mix for promotion.

Either them or Syngenta, who they play at the end of September. The Unis, Edinburgh United, Thornton, Dalkeith to be fighting for the final promotion place.
Don’t rule Saints out.
Missed two great chances in the first half and you would never have known they were playing with 10 men in the 2nd half as they were first to every ball and made Whitburn look very average.
Took a goal that was yards offside to kill the game off.

Nothing against Sauchie but if we were going to get an away draw for our first ever Scottish Cup tie I would have preferred someone we’d never played before.

The decision hasn’t been made yet but I suspect it will be a done deal.
I believe it’s the Highland clubs who don’t want to have to travel for replays. They don’t want a National non league either. Happy to just play among themselves all year.

Our game with Syngenta on 13th august has been switched to St. Andrews to allow QP to play at Ochilview.

A fairly brutal start for the Saints. Whitburn and Syngenta away in the first three weeks.
Of course if we win them both it’s s as different matter.

I’m assuming that the clubs who attained their licences this summer will receive their first payout from the SFA after next year’s AGM?

It started off OK then I thought I was reading an old issue of Pyramid News Weekly.
Yep.
Why do we need another league at tier 5?
Are the SJFA expecting the EOS to feed into the Central and not the Lowland? So no relegation from the Lowland?

I believe both the SJFA and the alternative proposal from within the leagues have done the rounds. It's probably all been rather informal since neither one has gained a ton of traction.
You’re pretty much spot on.

As far as I’m aware both the Lowland and Highland leagues have voted against a national non league cup.
Without them there’s no point.

What was the rationale for Harthill moving to the west?
Probably the same reason they had for joining the west. They can’t be arsed travelling to play a game of football.
Thought they would cover less miles playing in the West, discovered that wasn’t the case so moved back to the primarily West Lothian 3rd division where they’ll happily play for years to come.

Are we now at Three Up and Three down under normal circumstances between:
Premier Division - First Division
First Division - Second Division
as predicted?
But what was agreed at the AGM for the
Second Division - Third Division
Three Up and Five Down?
or
Two Up and Four Down?
As far as I know it wasn’t discussed at the AGM.

How many teams will be promoted / relegated from the three eos leagues and premier league
It’s not been announced yet.
I’m not sure when the decision will be made but there will be a board meeting later this month.

On a different note I’m surprised to see Oakley part company with their management team after exceeding all expectations this season.
Any word on what’s happened?

Should we be worried about this “pyramid review”? Too many “established” teams dropping out the SPFL for the bigwigs liking?

I couldn’t make todays game but by all accounts it was a comfortable win for the Saints today.
They gifted Dalkeith an early goal with a goalkeeping mistake then dominated the rest of the game, hitting the woodwork twice and missing plenty of chances.
The next few weeks will tell us plenty about Dalkeith as they play Stirling, Syngenta, Whitburn and Thornton in their next four games.
